Can you update for wotc?
LostCarcosa25 17 Sep, 2017 @ 6:40pm
@hygorct I had the same problem, but VectorPlexus at XCom 2 Mods reddit was kind enough to help me out. You should be able to use this as a template for the Advent Voice Pack. Here's the link:

male voice doesn't even work
Terminal Lance 10 Jun, 2017 @ 7:56am
Does anybody know if its even remotely possible to make a voicepack replacing advent voices and soundcues with other ones, like for example: Making the Faceless sound like Zoidburg?
Zaku II (Alias WatcherZigzagoon) 4 Feb, 2017 @ 6:09pm
Well, THERE'S some Irony for ya.
Kaldin 29 Sep, 2016 @ 11:24am
@Legion Prime: Please, if you want to report anything, report this mod for claiming to be a "Voice Pack" by the "definition" of the voice pack-mods for this game...because in that sense it isn't. But really, get your facts straight first before talking braindead shit...
Wulfe of Legend 29 Sep, 2016 @ 8:24am
@Legion
You are out of line. The other mod stole nothing, just got a similar end result. You have asked why it sounds different, that is because it IS different. The other mod doesn't break troopers and this one appears to have been abandonded since shortly after this game came out. If I made my profile name Legi0n Prime, would you exercise more futility and report me, too?
The Seraph of Tomorrow 25 Sep, 2016 @ 1:31pm
Anyone else think this sounds like the Heirarchy off of Universe at War?
Wulfe of Legend 25 Sep, 2016 @ 9:24am
@A'renax That has been around for a while.
alexbali25 4 Sep, 2016 @ 5:08am
goes amazing with the advent armor and guns mod!
Arkhangel 20 Jul, 2016 @ 12:55pm
@spino. there is now!
Mook 10 Jul, 2016 @ 5:02pm
It seems this mod is no longer updated and may no longer work, which is a shame.
Nertego 10 Jul, 2016 @ 9:36am
i had tried out both advent voices and the female works fine but the male version for some reason dosnt speak
Mook 10 Jul, 2016 @ 2:09am
For some reason when I equipped this mod, now my Advent soldier doesnt speak and all other Advent no longer speak, even with the soldier not on mission. It started when I equipped the voice, no other time before.
T'erissk 20 May, 2016 @ 7:29pm
Hopefulyl someday, someone makes "male" and "female" ADVENT soldier head/faces for characters, so they hcan have those heads under the helmets, and even in the flying antfarm -I mean the Avenger.

Just open the soundbank in the XCOM 2 editor and record it manually.
Swews 24 Apr, 2016 @ 11:32am
420 mb. It's lit fam
LewdValkyria.exe 31 Mar, 2016 @ 2:10am
Hey i really enjoy your mod ! But i'm having an issue that when i play the game for some time the advent are muting themselves (for my soldiers and enemies). Can you help me with that?
Martz 28 Mar, 2016 @ 10:13pm
Damn. I managed to find where they were using the XCOM editor but I had no luck extracting them to an audio file. So I just recorded them manually.
Thanks for the reply though!
Plumse  [author] 28 Mar, 2016 @ 7:29pm
That's just it - I couldn't find them. They were compressed into a special file... the game just references that bank. All I did was to make the human soldiers reference the alien-talking bank of sounds :P
Martz 27 Mar, 2016 @ 7:53am
I tried to add you before for a question, but where did you find the ADVENT voice files? I've unpacked around 15 bnk files but some of them are so small in size that they absolutely refuse to be unpacked.
Plumse  [author] 22 Mar, 2016 @ 8:39am
It makes sense, since the voices in this pack are in-game assets that are embedded into the game - so Firaxis themselves made them. As for the others, once I have a little bit more time again, I could look into it. Currently a lot on my plate irl :(
kenanthebarbarian 20 Mar, 2016 @ 12:05pm
I had left a comment a while back about how this is the only one of your voice packs that works for me on Mac. Well, another modder, ObelixDk, appears to have figured out why some audio files don't work for Mac and how to fix them: https://www.reddit.com/r/xcom2mods/comments/4b6wvs/psa_for_voice_pack_creators/

I've notified other voice modders, and they seem concerned that reformatting will compromise audio quality. So, if you were to make your files Mac-compatible and the quality issue concerns you, you may consider making two separate mods: one for PC and one for Mac.

Hope you'll consider accomodating us lowly Mac owners!
Dark_Ansem 15 Mar, 2016 @ 5:00am
no need for new software if the skeleton is the same.
Narrelama 15 Mar, 2016 @ 4:01am
Thanks, Dark_Ansem - promising news, but ambitious... Will need some more software and learn some new stuff. Plan for future, I guess.
Dark_Ansem 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:48am
yes, it can be done absolutely. but, it requires a new animation set. or at least a new animation for that particular action.
Narrelama 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:45am
But it can be done? Changing "the instance in animations" (me modding noob, so not sure what u mean ;) and replacing it all as a completely new mod?
- so you know my context.

Besides - this embedded sound in animations would explain the at times outlandish volume levels on instance sounds, and why these don't respond to changing the volume in menu. So getting rid of them is in and of itself interesting to me.

F*ck Firaxis for all their stupid designer mistakes.
Dark_Ansem 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:35am
it does, because you need to actually change the instance in animations: if you're adding a new alien, safest route is to create a new Animset and play with that one.
It also explains why the ACTUAL advent VS is so small.
Narrelama 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:27am
@Dark_Ansem - if some of the voicesets are "baked into" the animations, that would make it hard to change the voices of the advent and/or aliens, wouldn't it?
Dark_Ansem 15 Mar, 2016 @ 3:02am
I might have nailed the problem a little bit: voicesets are wonky.
a number of instances in which the advent "speak" are, in fact, SFX baked within the animations!
Narrelama 15 Mar, 2016 @ 2:47am
I wonder if you would perhaps know how to mod and swap out the voices of the ADVENT (and/or) other hostile forces in the game? And btw. also to add voices to the civillians and VIP's? (which I notice come without any).

I am working on a hilarious mod, but I don't think it will suit the xcom, but it would suit ADVENT's gene-modded troops.
Dark_Ansem 7 Mar, 2016 @ 7:10am
that does not make actually any sense, in fact.
Of course, the problem might NOT be with your mod, but with poor game optimisation! you could check if other voice packs do the same!
Plumse  [author] 7 Mar, 2016 @ 6:19am
I still don't know what's causing it :(
Poptart Prime 7 Mar, 2016 @ 1:49am
I believe the mod doesn't work after certain missions have been taken. Not sure tho. Reloading seems to temporary fix it.
Videogameking 6 Mar, 2016 @ 12:59pm
Now all we need is an ADVENT nationality mod and we can make an ADVENT army of our own!
Zhiris 5 Mar, 2016 @ 2:51pm
I think I might have found a bug what disables Advent (enemy) voicelines.
It's akwardly quit in my game fighting against Advent.
Star Colonel Ichaerus Ward 28 Feb, 2016 @ 3:04pm
If only there was an ADVENT laugh/slow chuckle in existence for when offensive psi abilities were used...Or that slow Mor....Balaten....
Plumse  [author] 27 Feb, 2016 @ 7:49am
Maybe it is... the mission I use to test is usually "Protect the Device" (that's where my save is) - so it could be possible. I can try testing in other mission types, see what happens...
Dark_Ansem 27 Feb, 2016 @ 1:04am
Update: Plumse, something is changed. Now they do work. I'll do a couple other runs just to confirm. Pehaps it is linked to missions?
Plumse  [author] 26 Feb, 2016 @ 3:25pm
Interesting, I was pretty sure the last update I did - fixed it. Sorry guys, I really don't know what the problem may be, I just simply can't recreate it on my end :/

I'll take another look a bit later, maybe I've missed something.
Agent Coxack 26 Feb, 2016 @ 2:40pm
Holy. God. Yes.
Dark_Ansem 26 Feb, 2016 @ 12:06pm
I confirm what Vulture said: not only Male Advent Voice does not work, but it also removes them from enemy NPCs.
Vulture 26 Feb, 2016 @ 7:29am
Seems like Advent Male voice doesnt work :o
ProvokingPerch 25 Feb, 2016 @ 1:10pm
he was certainly the aliens' favourite, cause he made my life a LOT more difficult.
Kaiser 24 Feb, 2016 @ 3:10pm
Alright, I haven't tried yet, but as always with that many mods, I wondered what updated now :P Nice to see it was here, even though it worked eventually xD
