You can convert those trains to metros with BloodyPenguin's Train & Train Stations Converter mod if you add your own conversion settings for those trains to the mods config file.

I made test with different line colors replacing the red part.

I think I might update this asset to use line coloring once I've remade the LOD textures.

You're super right in everything you wrote!) Here is just cool realisation of color. Not straight lines but some non-typical colouring zones.

I didn't make it line colored since it is white and red and orange. I think line coloring works best for vehicles that are white/gray-ish + one secondary color. I guess I could make the red part line colored, but I think the orange part would limit the colors that would work well.
