The puppet rigs should be identical to their TF2 counterparts. To attach a weapon to a class, you need to expand the hierarchy of the class's rig and drag and drop the weapon bones of the class rig onto the weapon bones of the weapon you would like to parent.

Example: drag and drop Medic's weapon_bone onto Syringe's weapon_bone. A padlock should appear next to Syringe's weapon_bone.

From there, click on the motion editor, select the weapon_bone of your gun, and then use the One/Zero/Default presets to move the gun into position. From there, you have a gun that now follows the hands of your class.

how do i give the puppets their guns?
Astute  [author] 7 Aug, 2020 @ 4:12pm
The strings are inside the cross, and are bound to a bone that you stretch out away from the string's origin.

Puppet Fortress has a detailed description of this in the notes.

Ok i will thanks for the help mate.

I know that the problem you are mentioning is SFM-related, and not asset-related. I do not think I can talk you through how scaling is done from the comments section. You'd be better off checking the numerous guides in the Source Filmmaker Guides section. Try searching for "Scale Models" under the Guides tab, there are several tutorials available related to SFM model scaling. They'll be able to step you through the process far better than I can, especially since they have pictures and videos.
john marston 4 Sep, 2016 @ 10:46pm
But i cant shrink' em.
john marston 4 Sep, 2016 @ 10:46pm
I Think i did Roottransform scale.
Astute  [author] 4 Sep, 2016 @ 2:46pm
I'm not sure then, as that's how the puppets in this session are setup. Were you able to create a scale transform at all? If so, are you in the motion editor when you attempt to scale the model?
john marston 4 Sep, 2016 @ 1:32pm
I've tried that and it dosent work.
Astute  [author] 4 Sep, 2016 @ 12:58pm
You can scale down the puppets by adding a Scale transform to the RootTransform bone. I don't have SFM in front of me at the moment, but I believe simply right clicking on RootTransform and selected "Add Scale Transform to Bone" or something like that should give you what you want. From there, simply slide the scale value down.
john marston 4 Sep, 2016 @ 12:40pm
They are to big how do you make em smaller?
krazedpizza200 8 Aug, 2016 @ 5:09pm
ok thanks I shall be waiting if they ever do come out! :3
Astute  [author] 8 Aug, 2016 @ 3:58pm
Sure, they would be pretty neat additions for GMod. I might pursue this when I give these guys a second pass. However, for the time being, I'm in no shape to work on anything.

So, Yes I may port them. When? I have no idea.
krazedpizza200 8 Aug, 2016 @ 12:36pm
Astute again can these be made for Gmod at all? thanks you again!:steamhappy:
Astute  [author] 8 Aug, 2016 @ 11:16am
Yes, the blank puppet is included with Puppet Fortress. Subbing to Puppet Fortress gets you the 9 classes, the marionette cross, and the blank puppet.
ObungaGaming 8 Aug, 2016 @ 3:51am
Is it possible to get that completly blank puppet that is in the puppet scrip picture
krazedpizza200 29 May, 2016 @ 1:22pm
Astute could these ever be made in ZGarry's Mod? I have a Very good video and some nice pictures I could make if you do! thanks for your time!:steamhappy:

AAWWWW SO CTE
Astute  [author] 26 Apr, 2016 @ 11:02am
Sounds fine, these are fair use for whatever you want. I should also mention that, in the event you win while using one of my assets, I will not request/require any sort of compensation(credit, a Saxxy, money, endorsements, etc). These assets(and anything I've released to SFM) are as fair game as the original 9 TF2 classes.

I should probably update my profile info pertaining to this.
Peas 26 Apr, 2016 @ 10:53am
If I give you creds, can I use these in a SAXXY submission?:steamhappy:
Astute  [author] 20 Apr, 2016 @ 2:20pm
Sure, go right ahead.
GKWINNER 20 Apr, 2016 @ 11:55am
Is it alright if I use these for tf2 animation?
Astro 28 Mar, 2016 @ 4:02pm
You made the puppets so clean!

But this is awesome.

"SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\elements"

It gives me an error if I upload from any other folder for some strange reason. I'll add the path into the description.
C0DEGreen 5 Mar, 2016 @ 6:10pm
I can't find the session. Why is this? ( I'd appreciate the folder location maybe??? )
SoSucculent 1 Mar, 2016 @ 3:40pm
I toggled the clips but it doesn't let me manipulate models in the class line up and marionette medic clips
SoSucculent 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:54pm
Idk how to toggle them is the issue because it's not in the main clip
Astute  [author] 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:51pm
Have you toggled whether or not the models are selectable? I usually turn off models I'm not using to make it less cluttered when I'm posing other models. Be sure to click the little cursor next to the name to enable selection if you haven't already.
SoSucculent 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:26pm
Okay, so can you make them separate or something. Because I only have control of the first clip. I can't edit models in the second or third clip.
SoSucculent 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:11pm
OH! Okay! Thank you. I thought they were all seperate sessions.
Astute  [author] 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:10pm
All three of them are clips in the same session. It's just how I originally made the render.

As for why it's not under sessions, that's something I didn't have control over. Uploading from "elements\sessions" would cause an error in SFM for some reason. It would only accept sessions uploaded from "elements". It was just weird like that.
SoSucculent 1 Mar, 2016 @ 2:10pm
There is no file.
