# New gameplay feature: Falling off the map now has a high chance of not instantly killing you to fall damage, but instead [CENSORED].
# Added Stand Your Ground zones
# The 3 main platform floors completely reworked from scratch: Much more detailed now, fully lighting+shadow compatible and with bloodsplatter.
# Multiple smaller platforms and walkways around the map have been combined and optimized
# All spiral staircases have been optimized with better collision, working lightmaps and blood splat
# A few new walkways and staircases have been added, introducing more escape routes and walkable surfaces.
# Several Zed navmesh optimizations, making them less prone to go suicide diving off the edges (I hope).
# Tons more world detail added, including lighting, breakable objects and more varied textures
# Many minor optimizations and fixes (shadowmaps, splattermaps, collision, draw distances, geometry, etc.)
Falling off the map is still a thing, although with a pretty crazy twist this time around
The falling is as much of a map feature, as a map problem. It effects bosses just the same so it's fair at least (I've seen King FP charge right out of spawn to his death once lol).
I'm really hoping the sequel gets completed someday. *fingers crossed*
Small spot where 90% of zeds will fall or get stuck in an infinite loop, and the other one is that you fall and you can survive and if you just keep healing as soon as you can you have a high change of living forever and zeds will just fall to the maw and die
here is the proofs

I understand! And a sequel sounds awesome! I'll gladly do a video of it or any of yours & Chaoz maps! Looking forward :D!
Sorry I did not get around to updating it in time but to be honest it is mostly optimization things anyway that might not be so noticable (better blood splatter and some collision optimizations) so probably not worth making a new video over anyway.
I will say that this makes me consider creating a sequel though! Maw of madness is still one of the maps I had the most fun making, I would like to do another one in the same spirit. Maybe after Netherhold is done
And cool, I'll keep an eye out for any update!
The not dying issue I think is a patch bug, as I have experienced it on other maps as well recently. Maw of madness is a very old map now and one of the first I worked on. I may give it a little overhaul and take a look at things that could need adjusting, I know there are a few
I noticed when doing a quick play of it, that I fell through the side of the maw (Where the ladder has an open space) and survived the drop, having 1 health but being unable to heal myself. Is that meant to happen or has a recent kf2 update messed something up?
@Cdwinters: Look around the area where the blood spills out of the building :)
Pretty good map though its simple. I like it.
@ConnorTheWeary thanks for pointing out the bad spot, I will take a look at it. And yes the zeds sometimes fall off the platforms on their own, boss included but that is really hard to prevent without making it so that they cannot fall off at all, which I feel is not what the map is about :)
Incidentally, are those chess pieces supposed to be bolted to the floor?
