Any news on when I can use these armors modularly?
Experiments  [author] 9 Feb, 2019 @ 3:10pm
You can do that by modifying the content.ini in this mod (or any active mod) and comparing to an all-tiers mod's content.ini. Easier yet, use Unrestricted Customization for legacy or WOTC.

Any way to incorporate the cosmetics into higher armor tiers? Currently it seems to only be available for Tier 1.

(1/3) Yay collaboration! I'll list what is related to your stuff and should be my priorities by difficulty level anyhow.

Props: >”’Civilian Clothes’ (starting item, unprotective, agile).”
Civvies, Resistance, and AC raiders are often T0 to me for a later LWOTC inclusion. T1 Civvies needs a malus v. its bonus. The non-MGS Covert Ops Armor mod used horridly-balanced costs.

T2 Civvies should describe its carbon weave underlay from ADVENT troopers like Predator Armor’s ADVENT plates and EXO’s repurposed MEC frame. T2 AC is definitely T1/raider-level. AC WAR suits are more T1.5, ideally with weaker heavy weapons in workshop or a preset powered weapon.

I can basic 3d model now: expect a harness prop immediately to hide disgusting outfit seams. Mostly I have EU/EW/Bureau stuff half-ported because it has issues and is time-consuming. I’ll send my version of Exalt T0/T2 Plated clothes sometime because they’re dapper.

(2/3 )Gadgets:

>I'm making Kevlar a non starting item (buildable, extraprotection). […] Spider-Kevlar and HeavyWeapon-Kevlar”
I think grapple and arm-rockets are best as utility items. LW1/2 style armor may be up your alley though.

It may effect balance that I’ll eventually finish singleton weapons/armor as cost reduction of their infinites, reducing drudgery. Higher Tiers bring down costs more.

(3/3) Similar Additions:
Tier 0 primary weapons using the H&K lookalikes from EW. At least for NPCs. EXALT lasers are a delicious kitbash on top of the H&Ks. Secondary Tier 0/1 equivalents can include EU rocket launchers even modified into an RPG, though I’d miss its animation.

So yeah, I've got a lot of assets mostly needing textures if you want more Tier 0 stuff. It's far less intimidating if I can pass off final scripting to someone else.

I'm making Kevlar a non starting item (buildable, extraprotection). I would also like make a Spider-Kevlar and HeavyWeapon-Kevlar (cheaper than the Alloy version) when I succeed in visually add to the Grapple and Arm-Missle Launcher bodyparts to Kevlar body and legs... (i can easily add the abilities and use them... someday I will succeed in also show the gadgets on the arms... ;) )

thanks!
krumiro 14 Mar, 2018 @ 10:09am
Anarchy's Children visuals are already separated in bodyparts so I can use them already... Resistance Warrior visuals are cool, and I would have almost used them as full set like they are now in the DLC... but I really would like to "separate" the parts that visually show a protective equipment from the parts that have dangerously non-protective looks (shorts, shirts, shirtless...) so that I could recombine all the visual parts (from all DLCs and XCom2 code, including Resistance Warrior) and organize them in new Armor groups based on "protectiveness" and assign the "unprotective looking body parts"to my new Armor Equipment called something like "Civilian Clothes" (starting item, unprotective, agile), assign the ones that are "protective looking but kind of home made" to a new armor look called something like "Low-Cost Kevlar" (building item)...
krumiro 14 Mar, 2018 @ 10:09am
Thanks! you are so cool!!! ;) You are the best!

Unfortunately I don't have anything done on this "visual" subject to give you because I'm still a total ignorant about it (I don't even know how/where to load the 3D models to edit them)... my experience is unfortunately limited to only use Modbuddy to edit code and change variables here and there... for now for my upcoming Minimod I'm only able to (try to) make the code for the armor tiers and make them available to soldiers but still all with the identical kevlar look... I will soon start to assign to each different armor tier already existing visuals that are already separated in body parts and easily accessible from XCom2 default code or from cool mods' code like yours.

Fair enough, didn't see the comment before my last. I'm not a 'Progressive Tiers' person for most parts but I can ;comment_out what you need. I'm getting back into modding so the warm-up will fortuitously help my confidence to actually release, haha. Thanks I guess.

If you have a decent head start it would really help and I'll send it back to you for additions and posting.

I'd better look up what the WOTC port texture issue was.
krumiro 14 Mar, 2018 @ 4:03am
I also have it (actually bought it for 1euro)... but I don't know how to cut it into separate parts... ;(
Experiments  [author] 13 Mar, 2018 @ 7:20pm
Got it's content.upk out of the Day 0 DLC folder, here you go. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xtQq4YwvCjjdCE-YS5T2sRj90D7IloVQ/view?usp=sharing
krumiro 13 Mar, 2018 @ 2:24pm
I already tried them:

Shanty Body Parts doesn't include Resistance Warrior

Spart's Resistance Bashes does it but he didn't preserve the original textures (leaving the colors pretty ugly)

Additionally, LAO Resistance Warrior Addon does the same as your mod (5 complete sets) but in a worse way (requiring 5 additional Mods while your Mod is a standalone)

Please, please, please... maybe you could use Spart's Resistance Bashes adding the original textures... I need it for one of my new upcoming Mods (RW Resistance Anarchy Kevlar Tiers Integration)... I'm kind of stuck because I have no idea how to do it myself... ;(
Experiments  [author] 13 Mar, 2018 @ 9:40am
@krumino That is done (and for WOTC as well) in one of the more popular vanilla-like outfit packs. Let's see... Shanty Body Parts adds in the non-armors. Spart's ResistanceBashes is the one with armor. I forgot to try it with WOTC but its textures should be compatible.

Tell me if he missed anything.
krumiro 13 Mar, 2018 @ 8:48am
Please, please, please, cut the 5 outfit into separately equippable Legs, Armos, Torsos... Please, please, please... ;(

@Natural Causes, surprisingly enough there aren't any other mods out there currently do what this mod does (or does so partially/jankily) so if you have the time, we're interested in an update - thanks!
Experiments  [author] 6 Sep, 2017 @ 10:44am
@Atomic Gandhi, I haven't tested but it could need rebuilding with the new WOTC shaders. The preorder bonus meshes have mostly been used for Resistance Soldiers in WOTC, so a simple rebuild would be easy. I can't find it at the moment but for vanilla someone made a properly slotted version of these which will likely update.

But with alternatives, there's little reason to update this quick-n-dirty mod. And there's cleaner 'kit-bash' potential in adding smaller assets to the 'gear' and 'thighs' categories on non-hero units.
Jotaro JoDiveStar 3 Sep, 2017 @ 8:44pm
Is this compatible with WOTC?
KZFKreation 1 Dec, 2016 @ 4:09am
I find it funny how Firaxis basically said no to have the resistance warrior not be available for those who bought the bundle for all DLC, even if it was supposed to be a pre-order bonus. I do hope you get the "Go ahead" to port the models directly from firaxis, since I feel left out without all the customization options that aern't modded.
Experiments  [author] 22 Apr, 2016 @ 8:38am
@Mr. Someguy, Though I can in theory have Steam consider the parts "DLC Required", functionally that wouldn't be true considering I'll need to contain the new mesh files. I'll leave this file as-is until I've clear permission to distribute original meshes, but post and link a seperate file with individual bodypart props and no DLC requirement.

I think I've done due dilligence to reach out to Firaxis and the lack of an answer at this point is equivalent to "go ahead but we reserve the right to take it down". I'm at no risk as long as I respect their decision if/when they make one. So when I get time to assemble and post that other file it's not worth pretending it has any DLC dependency. Irregardless, this file will stay up.
Mr. Someguy 21 Apr, 2016 @ 11:05pm
@Natural Causes Is it not possible to allow the use of the parts separately, but keep the "DLC Required" restriction? People already have made variants of the standard armour, I don't see how this could be different as long as the DLC requirements remain in place.

PS: Even if that's an option, I'd prefer the full body remain available. It works surprisingly well with ADVENT Armours to hid missing faces, since ADVENT Armours is not designed to be mixed and matched with anything outside it's set.
Rectified 15 Apr, 2016 @ 5:24am
Dude this is awesome mod! I couldnt understand why Firaxis didnt implement this pack this way.
You have upvote and favorite from me!
Experiments  [author] 26 Mar, 2016 @ 9:44am
@Commander Data, I address that in the description. Without permission to redistribute the DLC itself I can only use the 5 full-body meshes. Obvious clipping can be minimized with certain selections or 'blended' together with armor patterns.
FREND 26 Mar, 2016 @ 8:46am
I tried this mod but ended up uninstalling it. It just overlaps a whole suit from Resistance Warrior pack with whatever else you have equipped. Every random soldier ended up with a messy clipping outfit. If I want them to wear the Resistance Warrior pack then I might as well just change their armor in the loadout screen. I was hoping this mod was just the individual arms, torsos, and legs from the RW pack.
CarlosMagno 25 Mar, 2016 @ 5:23pm
No variants oly cliping overlapping armors
I thougth you cut the mesh to arms, torso and legs.
I was wrong
Experiments  [author] 25 Mar, 2016 @ 8:25am
@Void, though I could force a separate arms and legs slot, I don't like it when previous selections are changed by surprise (Anarchy's Children has issues with this). Extra code added to the UI could properly do it but would cause conflicts.

@Holesale, I can't redistribute the meshes unless Firaxis gives me the go-ahead (basically giving people the Preorder DLC for free). I'd like to, though! I promise I won't leave ugly torso gaps if they suddenly give me permission.
Holesale 25 Mar, 2016 @ 7:35am
Is there no way to like make arms legs torso individual props that dont require full outfit when you select say just legs
AzteQ 25 Mar, 2016 @ 6:26am
Yes finally! thank you
Zhiris 25 Mar, 2016 @ 5:57am
@Natural Causes : I cannot express how thankfully I am with this mod.
Ever since I got my hands on Xcom2 I wanted this mod in the game so I could save the parts of the DLC in my Character Pool.

Thank you once again!
iFossil 25 Mar, 2016 @ 3:20am
Been waiting for so long, thank you!
Void 25 Mar, 2016 @ 12:56am
Can't you make that selecting a torso forses the correct legs and arms solection?
Juan Stamos 24 Mar, 2016 @ 9:29pm
Finally. I've wanted this since day 1. Thanks.
Experiments  [author] 24 Mar, 2016 @ 8:21pm
That's not possible right now without distributing the DLC meshes itself. However, you're free to make a prop for lower face flag bandannas or flag arm-bands. The flag image can be pulled by props somehow though I don't know how.
badassgrunt 24 Mar, 2016 @ 8:15pm
Don't fix the clipping too much,I'd won't see the soldier's flag otherwise.Someone needs to make a mod that adds a flag to the back of the Resistance DLC armor.
