thanks for the explanation, but by that rational everyone would be editing the Default*.ini files. I'll keep it to XComGameData.

Cheers!

This is an atrociously old deprecrated mod for XCOM 2 Vanilla so don't use it with WOTC or LWTOC.

The XCOMINI files are regenerated and automatically overwritten all the time by the Default files. Follow the instructions.
agris 27 Feb, 2024 @ 5:38am
why do you specify editing DefaultGameData.ini, rather than XComGameData.ini in "..\My Games\XCOM2\XComGame\Config" ? shouldn't the the Default***.ini files truly contain the defaults, and user tweaks go in the XCom***.ini files in the user space?

Thank you! I appreciate that a lot : D.
Juravis  [author] 15 May, 2023 @ 6:06pm
Go nuts everything i make is totally open
Endlesspie49 15 May, 2023 @ 5:44pm
I don't currently have the skill for that myself, I might know some people that do. I could suggest them if they are interested to lift it to the expansion, with the proper credits and permission of course. Still, not guarantees, as i cannot speak on others behalf. But i do wonder if that's ok with you.
Juravis  [author] 14 May, 2023 @ 6:23pm
Its not going to get updated but feel free to lift the code

Hello, is there any chance for a WOTC version of this mod? Or a similar known one like this?
Moisesjns 1 Apr, 2022 @ 7:40pm
Thank you for quick resonse. Sad to hear. it does not work for WOTC, o well. thanks for the concept and work.
Juravis  [author] 1 Apr, 2022 @ 7:33pm
This is an old mod do not use it either for WOTC or LWOTC.
Moisesjns 1 Apr, 2022 @ 7:25pm
Hi really loving this mod idea. Does it still work? I do not have LW 2, but i do have LW 2 aliens, and sub classes. What setting would be best for there to be a 2 week gap between missions? The default game has far to many missions, i get one like every 3 days.
Juravis  [author] 1 Jul, 2021 @ 5:05pm
If you increased the variance a lot you will on average get missions later. If you decrease it you will get more missions like clockwork every 7 days.
Mustang0524 1 Jul, 2021 @ 5:02pm
Yea i might get tougher missions earlier too as i guess force is tied to the month?
Juravis  [author] 29 Jun, 2021 @ 5:49pm
If you want more research its not this you need. Get Facilities+ or something that alters the scientific scalar its much much better.
Mustang0524 29 Jun, 2021 @ 5:05pm
So in theory this will allow me to complete more research earlier in the campaign? I have a lot of extra mods that require research and I can't get to them.
Juravis  [author] 3 Oct, 2016 @ 5:08pm
Nope, this mod doesnt touch that. You should install my POI mod for more sites.
Tiger's Eye 3 Oct, 2016 @ 10:04am
Does your mod affect frequency of new scanning sites? Because I tend to get less in my current campaign.
Juravis  [author] 27 Sep, 2016 @ 7:28pm
Nope thats in the regular INI files, thats untouched
orion winterfire 27 Sep, 2016 @ 5:34am
Is your 96 variable default when the mod is installed?
Juravis  [author] 22 Aug, 2016 @ 5:10pm
Thanks chief
Hieronymous 22 Aug, 2016 @ 7:32am
Nice, really loving your mods
Juravis  [author] 9 Aug, 2016 @ 9:52am
Not at all.
=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil 9 Aug, 2016 @ 9:01am
Is this mod irrelivant if I'm using scanning sites plus??
Juravis  [author] 20 Jun, 2016 @ 1:47pm
@Dragon32 Good job
Dragon32 20 Jun, 2016 @ 12:05pm
Hey this may help some people. I created a "XComGameData.ini" in Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\268500\658792163\Config

Put this in:
[XComGame.XComGameState_MissionCalendar]
-MissionSpawnVariance=48
+MissionSpawnVariance=72

Seems to be working, saves me editing the file in the game directory.
Juravis  [author] 11 Jun, 2016 @ 11:21pm
@pierre.fagnan Thank you its highly appreciated.
pierre.fagnan 11 Jun, 2016 @ 11:12pm
This note so you know I'm enjoying the fruit of your efforts. Thanks for sharing thid mod. It is greatly appreciated.
Pectoid 24 Apr, 2016 @ 9:15am
@ADVENT Avenger Thank you!
Juravis  [author] 24 Apr, 2016 @ 9:11am
Note: The standard game makes it 3-7 days without this mod.

Also note: You'll need my Dark Events Timers mod if you don't want to fuck up Guerilla timings.

File: DefaultGameData.INI

Change MissionMonthDays to 45 (45 divided by 9 = 5)

This is mine:

MissionDecks[0]=(DeckName="StartDeck", NextDeckName="MidGameDeck", MissionMonthDays=72, bForceNoConsecutive=true,\\
Missions[0]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_SupplyRaid"),\\
Missions[1]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_Council"),\\
Missions[2]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_GuerillaOp"),\\
Missions[3]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_Retaliation"),\\
Missions[4]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_SupplyRaid"),\\
Missions[5]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_GuerillaOp"),\\
Missions[6]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_Council"),\\
Missions[7]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_Retaliation"),\\
Missions[8]=(MissionSource="MissionSource_GuerillaOp"))
Pectoid 24 Apr, 2016 @ 9:03am
@Advent Avenger- What I want to know how to change is the base seven days. For Ex: Instead of the mission variance equation being 7 + or - x, I would want it to be 5 + or - x.
Juravis  [author] 24 Apr, 2016 @ 8:45am
What do you mean "both"?
Pectoid 24 Apr, 2016 @ 8:25am
@ADVENT Avenger - How do edit the.ini files so both mission wait times are below 7 days?
adamdiamondangel 23 Apr, 2016 @ 10:15pm
@ADVENT Avenger - Thank you!
Juravis  [author] 22 Apr, 2016 @ 10:25am
@adamdiamondangel If you put the variance variable at 96 you will get 3-11 days (7 days +- 96 hours on both ends).
adamdiamondangel 21 Apr, 2016 @ 10:54pm
More examples would be helpful. Ex: If I want my days between missions to vary 3-12 days?
Juravis  [author] 7 Apr, 2016 @ 8:05am
That is correct but in that case variance cannot exceed 72
Osium 7 Apr, 2016 @ 5:54am
So, if I am playing on Legendary, and I want to decrease the time between missions drastically, I would say, copy/paste say the top 7 missions per legendary deck, and fix the numbering so that I am sitting on 65/16 missions or a mission every 4 days + variance?
Thedeejnylv76 6 Apr, 2016 @ 5:56pm
Will do. Thanx 4 the quick response.
Juravis  [author] 6 Apr, 2016 @ 5:41pm
@Thedeejnylv76 I'm... not sure. You'd have to test it out first. Make a game, then just fast forward the missions skip them and note when they pop up. If they pop like clockwork 7,14,21,28 then it doesnt work.
Thedeejnylv76 6 Apr, 2016 @ 5:31pm
Does this work with he various marathon mods? This would be great with my marathon + fatigue campaign if it is compatible.
DabHand 4 Apr, 2016 @ 1:20pm
thankyou
Juravis  [author] 4 Apr, 2016 @ 1:14pm
@DabHand This is inside the function itself. You can't set the INI parameter to be both negative and positive at the same time, so this mod corrects it so that the same value is for both - and +.
DabHand 4 Apr, 2016 @ 8:08am
Is this something we can achieve purely through ini changes, or is the change from 7+0to3 to 7+/-0to3 inside some compiled function we can't work around?
Sperber 3 Apr, 2016 @ 1:35pm
@ADVENT Thanks for clearing that up. As I said, combining this mod with 'fatigue' could be very interesting. Until now, I didn't use the fatigue mod, because it didn't make much sense when all fatigued soldiers are ready for the next mission anyway. With your mod that should change. Making it so that you'll need to have at least two squads, maybe more if you take story and facility missions into account. I'll try that out as soon as my current campaign is finished.

Great job.
Juravis  [author] 3 Apr, 2016 @ 1:34pm
@totalimmortal That sounds totally concise and clear, thanks
totalimmortal 3 Apr, 2016 @ 1:22pm
I have to agree that this mod needs a clearer and simpler description. I really had to parse the description very carefully to even understand what it does. Something like "This mod allows you to have a wider range of how many days pass between each mission."
Juravis  [author] 3 Apr, 2016 @ 1:16pm
@The Red One That's the short way of putting it, yes.
The Red One 3 Apr, 2016 @ 1:09pm
What does this mod do? Change the time between missions?
Juravis  [author] 3 Apr, 2016 @ 12:37pm
@sperber The alien Force Level is very very slightly elongated. You get an extra 4 days per 31 days before the Force Level goes up.
Juravis  [author] 3 Apr, 2016 @ 12:35pm
@Sperber It can make the game easier or harder depending on the parameters you set. In my opinion, making missions spawn also sometimes faster makes the game harder. It is possible you can get 2 missions within 4 days using the default parameters listed i put up top.
