Thank you! Works like a charm even with other mods

What does the "ForceColors" .ini option do with the mod?

Oh I forgot to come back here and mention. I ended up writing a mod that does everything this mod does and much, much more. And it's compatible with both WotC and the base game!

@raiders5000 As of now this mod does not allow such a thing unfortunately, but I'll look into it next week and see how I can improve it

@Xunkar,

Do you know how I can turn the camo patterns on?
Every other custome item can/will randomly appear except camo.
Kaldin 8 Sep, 2017 @ 12:05pm
@Xunkar & @Bruceski: It's actually NOT a new option for the expansion. I don't have the expansion yet and can set those percentages for the other DLC-parts too. Same for mods that incroperate that function. Dunno if it was added with the Alien Hunters-Patch or if the code was there from the beginning through.
Xunkar  [author] 8 Sep, 2017 @ 11:20am
@Bruceski This is definitely a new option and it probably overrides the mod completely. This mod is surprisingly simple, it doesn't modify the randomization algorithms, it simply increases the likelihood of props, facial hairs and hats as well as allow every color to be used.

@raiders5000 thank you very much! If all goes well I'll be able to do just that next week, can't wait the DLC looks very good.

Holy Shyte, it works!
On the mod panel it says:
"This mod is not compatible, but only contains content changes. Use at your own risk."
I included this mod with the "More Starting Soldiers" mod by CastledCard.
I also included the "Free The Hood" mod by Lex and "Capnbubs Accessessories" by Capnbubs.
Seems like old times!!! I got some CRAZY sweet looking soldiers on the 40 man roster.
Then I checked the recuit list. I HAD to recruit 3 because of how SWEET they turned out.
Somehow it works better with WotC than the original. From what I'm getting, the different colors and accessessories are more believable.
With the original game, I would get the occasional Neon Green on Electric Blue or Hot Pink on Sherbet Orange, etc.
WotC seems to be pairing one extreme color with khaki. None of my guys have over the top colors, just over the top outfits...which is perfect.
Hope you get the expansion soon so you can see the fruits of your labor. This is amazing. Thanks again, Xunkar!

I know you don't have access right now but a note for when you do: I turned up the sliders for the likelihood of DLC gear (I believe that's a new option in WotC) and everyone seems to be coming out in the boring colors or purple. So I guess whatever that changes is something your mod doesn't currently touch.

And something I noticed but I'm not sure is actually happening (because randomness is random like that and I had a small sample size) does it pick a random primary and secondary color separately for maximum clownsuit, or just one color for both?

I have no idea right now I am unable to play WotC before mid september. However considering how the mod works it should be compatible.
roopesh.r.80 31 Aug, 2017 @ 9:34am
does this work with WoTC?
BlueRaja 2 Feb, 2017 @ 9:46am
Does anyone know who the author of "Random Rookies" was? It no longer exists on the workshop. I'd like to fix/recreate it (I want random face-paint damnit), but I need the original code first.
BootsyFarnsworth 25 Jan, 2017 @ 1:33pm
Yeah...I like this mod much much better.
Xunkar  [author] 12 May, 2016 @ 3:28pm
@Neuxs no, this would require overriding a class and it's not something I wanted to do for this mod.
Nexus 12 May, 2016 @ 3:25pm
Random rookies also spawns tattoos, scars etch, does this happen here as well?
thegrimsqueaker72 10 May, 2016 @ 11:59am
Random Rookies allows randomly generated rookies to spawn with armor patterns, weapon customization, etc. This mod just edits XComNameList.ini.

The reason Random Rookies is so huge is because the author didn't delete Src/XComGame.
MrBluedive 10 May, 2016 @ 11:44am
@Weebos: good point :-)
Weebos 10 May, 2016 @ 10:48am
@MrBlueDrive The main difference I can tell is that this mod is nearly 600 times smaller.
Xunkar  [author] 10 May, 2016 @ 10:18am
This mod does not override classes, so the generation is still vanilla, simply expanding its possibilities. As such customization is not lost when a rookie is promoted and it ensures maximum compatibility with other mods.

Nice mod, but how does it differ from the "Random Rookies" mod ?
