Halo Music Mod

For some reason this glorious mod deletes the game's main theme (Faster than Light) from the music player. Normally I'd say the Legendary soundtrack from the Halo universe more than makes up for 1 lost song but FTL is my favorite track from the base game

Any idea on how to fix ?
Blubbyfeet 22 Dec, 2023 @ 9:03pm
Has this been updated to 3.10/the most current version?
dnceleets 28 Nov, 2023 @ 12:41am
getting a subtle yet atrocious sort of crackling or popping sound from the halo music. Can't say i recall this issue ever happening before but it makes enjoying the music impossible for me.

my friend,why do not you improve the wonderful mod frequently ?

If you're all having trouble with this mod try this one instead: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1163146448

While it's also on an older version of Stellaris, it's still compatible with 3.1.* without doing any file manipulation.

I have noticed that this mod is overwriting the vanilla soundtrack which is effectively removes it entirely. DLC music is fine so far that I have seen. But I also like listening to vanilla soundtracks too so I am going to have to disable this mod until it gets fixed.

The chopping sound people are mentioning sound like a 44.1kHz and and 48kHz mismatch. Nothing the end user can really do about it
XSilent_DeathX 19 Aug, 2021 @ 9:52am
did what Agricon did but doesnt seem to fix the no descriptor file warning gonna fire up the game see if the music plays
Kman124 4 Aug, 2021 @ 3:38pm
Is anyone experiencing the 'chopped up sound' Prolix mentioned below?
Prolix 9 Jul, 2021 @ 12:22pm
music has some sort of chopped sound to it. I don't know how to describe it but every few seconds it's like it cuts out for a split second, almost like a tapping sound, ruining the music for me. I don't remember having this problem with this mod previously
Agricon 6 Jun, 2021 @ 5:17pm
@Valargent actually got the right idea. Just have to update the content of the descriptor file and the ugc for it work as well.

"For some reason, there was no ugc_684384680 in the Documents\User\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod so I went into steamapps\workshop\content\281990\684384680 and copied the descriptor into the mod folder and renamed it ugc_684384680"

Then update ugc_684384680.mod file with the mod path using your text editor:
tags={
"Sound"
}
picture="hathumb.jpg"
name="Halo Music Mod"
supported_version="3.0.*"
path=" [path to your steamapps] /workshop/content/281990/684384680"
remote_file_id="684384680"

Then update the descriptor path in steamapps\workshop\content\281990\684384680 by removing the path line. Should look something like this:
tags={
"Sound"
}
picture="hathumb.jpg"
name="Halo Music Mod"
supported_version="3.0.*"
remote_file_id="684384680"

Yep the same problem for me. I think the latest update just broke this mod because no matter how many times you sub and unsub it keeps says missing the descriptor file.
Valargent 5 May, 2021 @ 3:38pm
Actually, it didn't really fixed it, it only made the mod stop saying that there were no descriptor, now in game, the music just don't load up xwx
Valargent 5 May, 2021 @ 3:19pm
I fixed it!

For some reason, there was no ugc_684384680 in the Documents\User\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod so I went into steamapps\workshop\content\281990\684384680 and copied the descriptor into the mod folder and renamed it ugc_684384680

Valargent 5 May, 2021 @ 3:12pm
Happens to me too, been trying to fix it for a while xwx
Skullkid  [author] 5 May, 2021 @ 10:36am
Strange. Try renaming the .mod text document ugc_684384680 into descriptor?

Other people fixed the issue via deleting all descriptor files in Documents\Paradox Interactive\Stellaris\mod then resubbing to all the mods again.
Xenomorph Kitty 5 May, 2021 @ 8:17am
I've tried unsubbing and resubbing and deleting the launcher cache folder. Nothing I seem to do works. Still says this mod is missing it's descriptor file lol
animegeek 1 May, 2021 @ 7:36pm
@Hunter yeah sorry for the late response. It is located in the paradox folder in documents. I would cut and paste it somewhere else just in case though.
Hunter 26 Apr, 2021 @ 9:49am
@animegeek where is the launcher cache located? In the documents folder?
animegeek 26 Apr, 2021 @ 3:46am
@Hunter What I did is I deleted my launcher cache. That seemed to fix it for me.
animegeek 26 Apr, 2021 @ 3:46am
Some of the new soundtracks added may need to be remade into a higher quality .ogg format. I hear constant popping with the new songs that were added. It is common issue not only with this game but with other games when adding custom music.
Hunter 25 Apr, 2021 @ 2:23pm
Just tried a few times deleting it in the content folder and unsub/resubbing and it still won't work. I don't see anything in the documents folder related to it either
Xenomorph Kitty 25 Apr, 2021 @ 2:14pm
I have the same issue and I cant find that folder you're speaking about.
Skullkid  [author] 25 Apr, 2021 @ 11:44am
If you have any legacy versions of this mod they need to be manually removed both in your documents folder as well as in steamapps/common/workshop/content/281990 and delete the file named 684384680. Then try to unsub, resub. There is a descriptor file added with the mod.
Hunter 25 Apr, 2021 @ 10:30am
Same issue as animegeek. Tried unsubbing and resubbing too and it still says missing descriptor file.
Solar™ 24 Apr, 2021 @ 9:16am
been using this for a few years, glad to see it's still being maintained
animegeek 24 Apr, 2021 @ 2:50am
mod is missing descriptor file. verified game files. restarted pc etc.
Sunset 23 Apr, 2021 @ 4:59pm
file was there, paradox launcher just didn't want to believe it, fixed itself after restarting pc
Skullkid  [author] 22 Apr, 2021 @ 1:58am
@Allen P.W Try to unsubscribe and resubscribe.
MediumMatt148 21 Apr, 2021 @ 8:16pm

any way this getting update for current?
fnix 7 Mar, 2019 @ 6:51am
Would just be nice to get rid of the warning. If the mod is gameversion-independent, why not just specify the compatibility as such in the descriptor?
Gerishnakov 21 Feb, 2019 @ 12:36am
@Just Phanes This mod does not require an update. Just enable it and ignore the warning.
Phanes 20 Feb, 2019 @ 8:26pm
Game has been updated to version 2.2.4 I loved the fact that you can add Halo OSTs . Hopefully you can update it.:steamhappy::steamhappy:
Gerishnakov 28 Dec, 2018 @ 7:22am
@117Jorn the game's launcher doesn't actually know when a mod is incompatible with the current version; it just scans a .txt file to see if the 'current version' of a mod reads the same as the version of the game you're playing.
死の再臨 Samurai 27 Dec, 2018 @ 11:55am
I dont know if this is just a thing with some my combination of sound mods but as of 2.2 a lot of the tracks i listen to including a few from your mod have stopped working properly they will play then they go to the next track and it wont play for about 10 seconds then it goes back to the beging love the work you did on this and couldnt have asked for more
117Jorn 26 Dec, 2018 @ 12:03pm
Why not? It says it need to be updated...
Gerishnakov 18 Dec, 2018 @ 1:44pm
Mod does not need updating for 2.2
Numeon 18 Dec, 2018 @ 2:21am
Update for 2.2?
ShadowV2 8 Dec, 2018 @ 3:48pm
could we get some more songs from the original trilogy? Halo 4 is cool and all but the first 3 (1-2 mostly) have some of the best immersion tracks
Toty ツ 23 Sep, 2018 @ 3:06pm
