I cannot confirm nor deny that, I only know it was made like that because they could not make the turret they wanted at the time.

I thought they took some inspiration from the B1 for this?

The reason they made it like this is because they wanted a tank with a 75mm gun but they did not have a turret that could hold one yet. This was a sort of stopgap until they could get the turret finished.

With all due respect they looked at the B1 and applied it to...this...except with a riveted hull

Riveted hulls are of course the finest when it comes to crew protection, no debate

Completely redid the model, added 3d tracks, updated textures and added a separate track link model.

AT-8 was an arty in real life, it used a 76mm infantry support howitzer. It basically had the same role the Somua 40 and the ARL 39/40 had.
Nah, WoT is at its most fun when you play a tier 8 jap heavy and one shot the enemy batchat with your overpowered howitzer.

AT-8 as an arty? For some reason I just don't see that happening. Look, the most important thing is that WoT is really the most fun when you play as a platoon of AMX ELCs

It was also my first tier 4, and I only started to dislike it when the grind to unlock both the M4 and the T1 became unbearable, but that happens with every tank. I got sick of M4 much faster I can say that.
Also, remember that AT-8 is an artillery tank, not a tank destroyer, WG made it a tank destroyer like they did with the T18 because they cannot balance for shit.

It's a deep hatred. Played it for ever so long, gave up, came back to it and ended up taking another long time to get the M4. It was my first Tier 4 and I hated it after a couple of battles. But dammit I wanted a Tier 5. But hey, I have 2 actual tank destroyers that are halfway decent (AT-8 and SU-85B)

And why do you hate it? It is a fine looking tank that played it's part.
The only reason people in WoT hate this tank is because you have to go through it to reach the OP tanks later in the US line.
You have to play it like a tank destroyer, and not a medium tank.
Honestly, when I started the Medium US line, the M3 Lee is what I wanted. I could not give less of a shit for the sherman or the t1, I only got those much later, and it was more out of completionism then anything else. I have not yet touched neither the 8ball nor the jumbo, and have no plans to do so.

Which M2 do you mean? The medium or light one? Because I can only extract models from WoT up to 9.9. If the HD model was made later, it will have to wait until I have a new way to convert the files.

The problem is, he ported LD ones. These are HD ones.
The way it works is, the camo gets applied based on the alpha channel of the diffuse textures. This would require texture editing on each tank that I am sadly not capable of as if yet.
I will talk to Professor Heavy about camouflage however, perhaps we can work something out.
