For some reason this mod breaks my custom race mod.

Actually looking at the comments I know why, their starting world is alpine.

Getting the Alpine and Savannah planets to show was pretty intuitive, just copy and paste the lines from the 00_planet_classes.txt found in the /common/planet_classes folder.

That said, how does one make starting Ringworlds scale with the mod?

Please update this so we can have Savannah and Alpine Planets in the galaxy, saving a custom empire with a certain planet does not fix them not being displayed across the galaxy

Yup, posting to confirm that with this mod enabled, when creating a new species, there are only 7 planet types shown instead of the 3x3 grid of Heinlein.

I did use it, but I found that if you are zoomed into a system and you "Go to" a ship in another system, the camera view looks as if it's zooming across systems.
It's probably a game mechanic, which is more noticeable when we change system scales.
I just wonder how much load it puts on our graphics card and setup.

@IronHair Nope. I did some tests with the standard solar system and exploration times were the same. The sublight speed appears to scale up with system scale.

I have no issues with that valindor. I'll doubt I'll return to this game modding or otherwise till it has a few dlcs and hopefully a really good overhaul mod like CKII+ for Crusader Kings II. People can use this mod anyway they like. It's just altered numbers in a few .txt files after all.

Nope but l haven't heard any complaints so l assume its working fine. I doubt the game has messed with anything to do with system scale since l made this mod.

@Schwifty You should add to the description that your mod is NOT compatible with achievements. I was playing a game, get 3 achievements, wanted to take a screenshot without the orbital lines and your mod removes them and since that moment, without any other mod installed, 0 achievements.

@primo Sure. Hit me up with a link to your mod when your done. Be interested to see what its about. You will have to fix proximity mines if you scale up systems with this mod. I havent gotten around to it myself yet.

Just passing by to say that this is really... massive xD I don't know if it is intentional but when you zoom in the orbital lines dissapear, to take good screenshots is really an easy way without to use the console. But is hard to adapt to this dimensions. when you are inside a system and press que quick access to a fleet, the camera "moves" fast to the limit of your system to jump to the other but with your mod, the limit of the system is SO far that this is the slowest way to jump to that fleet xDD anyway, is a very nice mod .

Golden rule of modding in any game is never add or remove mods on an existing save game. You WILL run into problems.

had the same issue as lenderbuchsn when applying this mod (both with others and this one alone) to an already started game. It's like the entire map is covered in gray seethrough fog-of-war, flying around some revield the original mapcolors.

When starting a new game i assume the mod get this "exploration" at the same time as you explore the map for the first time, and thus works. So when adding to an old game, you only need to re-explore the map and it works.

I've installed this mod and it is the only mod running. But I don't see a difference in planet sizes. Am I missing something?

Don't know if Paradox is aware. I only get flahing on the poles and sometimes the clouds. When l replace the pole and cloud files with blanks the planet flashing stops. Its almost like the pole and cloud textures "clip" through the planet surface when you zoom out to certain distances
. Ive also tried removing the mipmaps from the texture files and altering certain values in the shader files but the problem remains. I thing its an engine bug and cant be fixed easily / at all.

Because that sounded a bit differently with "flashing" (sounds more like white / bright stuff) and you specifically mentioned the poles. I get black flickering all over the planets.

If this is a base game bug, do we have a bug report for that already so Paradox knows whats up?

Another thing I noticed with this is that planets start to flicker when you zoom out further from them. I don't think to remember this from the original mod but don't take my word on that ...

@BlackJack Yeah l will increase ship scale. Got too much RL work on atm so will be a few weeks at least. It WILL happen though so have no fear.

@ darkthoughts yeah I kinda tend to agree. it so small it makes weapons fire hard to even see.

@schwifty is it possible you could slightly increase the ship scale? Atm ship are just so damn tiny its hard to recognize them.

@Mizati Its normal. No idea why it happens. Systems aren't supposed to be this big and l haven't found any way to fix it. I set the orbit lines to fade to nothing when zoomed in to help get round the issue so only noticeable at far away zoom and near max tilt.

I know that this is rather nit-picky, but one thing I've noticed with this mod(replicated using only this mod) is that the lines for Outside Gravity Well/Outside system/Orbital lines start to disappear if you have the camera tilted too much. Frankly it's just maddening(for me at least). Is this a normal thing or some glitch on my end?
