why do some of these voice mods require a complicated process involving gcfscape and rebuilding the audio cache? The voice mods I use don't have that complicated process

GCFscape doesn't seem to be loading ._.

try typing snd_rebuildaudiocache on the console, then if its done type quit on the console,
you have to do this everytime you change character voicelines, if this didn't work, try snd_updateaudiocache, if that also doesn't work you probably have a mod that modifies the character's voices

I'm having a strange problem with the RWBY voice packs, which I haven't seen mentioned in the last few pages of comments. I followed the proper installation and the voices sound great, except every few lines or so, one of them will be incredibly high pitch and squeaky.

One that stands out to me is Blake, because she has good regular commentary with no issues, except when she says she's reloading. That one is squeaky Blake, not regular Blake.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

im sorry but this just dont work at all. no fix is available and it cannot be removed. i have tried everything

Fair warning for anyone downloading other mods that can just be moved into the addons folder:
Do NOT do the same thing with this mod to try to cheese it and not have to download GCFScape. Based on how another mod went (the one that changes their names) I thought I could just move the mod, rebuild the cache, and be done with it. That does NOT work. Follow all the steps and it should work fine :)
If you're curious what happens, don't try it. Instead of Coach's voice, it is a loud high pitched noise that actually hurt my ears pretty bad ._.

Pheonix37, did you follow ALL the instructions?
You HAVE to unpack and relocate it, as well as rebuilding your audiocache.

Ive tried all of your rwby voice packs, and NONE of them download a vpk file anywhere at all. I really want to get these to work please help us figure this out!

Not you @Lord Sesh! I apologize, I should have just deleted the rude comment. Your problem usually happens because the files were not de-compressed in the right folder.
1-Check Coach folders and see if you hear Blake's voice. If not, de-compress again the vpk.
2-In-game uncheck this mod from the "Addon" list"

Sorry I didn't mean to be disrespecful when saying it. I was trying to be descriptive. What I meant to say was that Coaches voice is very deep and slow motion like when he talks after installing this mod.

Hey Guily B, awesome mod! Works fine. And for you that don't know how to follow instructions you need to use a program to fix the audio. Short question: How do i bring back coach's voice? Since i didn't make a backup for aaaall the god damn voice files (god no) should i just verify the game files using steam?

The file will exist even if it is with a different name, search for the image of the preview of this article , and the file with the same name will be the mod. The file should have that name because it is the ID assigned by steam, which you can see in the URL for this mod, in the steam broswe (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id= 699545945 &tscn=1485130254)

Can you launch the game and wait for the addons to load so the file will appear ? If not, you're free to do your own mod with files that exist

can you make a version that doesn't tell me to go to a file that doesn't exist

hello, i tried many times to do as you said but no window shows up for me. the only window that shows up is the readme document. im also not sure if i download the installer or archive.

alright i think were getting closer to the fix. Still the same, after fixing the files, but i noticed with the weiss, yang, and blake player models they have their mouths pushed in and it looks all weird, could be the source of this problem. Also there is screeching noises happening as well if that may help while im in a game. Ruby still works perfectly, and player model is perfectly intact.

Please go to this folder ...\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\sound\player\survivor\voice\. In there check every folder you have problem with
1)Mechanic is Elis (should be filled with Yang's voice)
2)Producer is ROchelle (for Ruby's voice)
3)Gambler is NIck (for Weiss voice)
4)Coach is Coach (Blake's voice)

If any of those folders have the original voice, there was a problem with the extraction, just try again and make sure to do the "snd_rebuildaudiocache" command

If there's only a Coach subfolder, that sound folder probably is the mod one, and it is extracted in the wrong place. If extracted correctly there sould be all the 4 voices in the folder
