I've used this for years, and recently i noticed the second track not being used anymore. it seems like "spawn positions swapper" mod seems to mess things up, removing that made it start working again.

Sorry, no matter what I try, doesn't work. One set of lines does, the other doesn't, even with two entirely different lines attached (so there's no option but to go to the second platform)

It isn't working for me, I tried using TMPE to redirect lanes but not working. Any ideas?
sgup93 2 Dec, 2022 @ 8:59am
Is this still working for anyone? Tried following @Ilions guide and doesn't seem to be spawning anything on the outer track. Also tried respawn point fix someone suggested...didn't work for me.

My set up

One way out to external line --Track 2-- One way out to external line
One way in to station from external line --Track 1-- One way in to station from internal line

@Mr_Ablaze - Upload it to the workshop? Please!

I'm similarly having some trouble getting this to work. I was hoping to have it separate my municipal inner-city tracks from the external/inter-city tracks (to edge of map), but I could never get an inter-city train to arrive. I tried connecting the inter-city tracks to the inside and then tried the outer tracks. Occasionally I'd get an inner-city train but never an inter-city train regardless of which track it was connected to. I eventually deleted it and used two vanilla cargo stations and that has all trains coming/going again.
Mr_Ablaze 25 Nov, 2022 @ 11:13pm
The thing is, I created a copy of this building in my locale folder to apply a translation into my language back in 2018 and this outdated version still works as intended where both tracks get used for import and export. The current workshop version doesn't.

I understand the concept of this and how it works but still cannot figure out the why so I need someone smarter than i to explain to me....

I 3 of these in an almost triangle shape servicing different areas. Currently they are setup with two-way tracks merging into the main line that services both internal and external. I'd like to separate my lines and build an internal only line servicing these 3 stations while also allowing them to service external imports/exports. Do I use the inside (closer to the road) track for the internal or external lines? And do I need to use one way tracks in order to make this work. I understand the 2nd track only can send loads, never receive.
Jarr3tt88 2 Sep, 2022 @ 7:44am
I love this station, but I am not getting trains spawning on the second track? And sometimes it takes a long time to even get exporting/importing rolling at the station
Schlumpf 8 Aug, 2022 @ 8:32am
You can use the Vanilla Cargo Station as a "double-Track" Cargo station with one-way Tracks and TP:ME.

<<----- <<
>>------>>

You create two loops with tracks in the opposite direction and connect each track at the station only to allow trains in one direction. In this case the Vanilla station will accept and spawn trains going both directions.

Later stations have a problem. E.g. (OT) the Airport passenger station does not allow a similar functionality for passengers - or the Airport Cargo station. I would love to know why it is like this.
Musharaf 7 Aug, 2022 @ 3:28am
@Ilion, I know but real advantage would be fully functional asset ;-) I want to receive intracity trains also, but I cant, with this. So when I need to built second cargo station, it lost sence to have this one.
Ilion 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:34am
@Musharaf,
There has been a lot of discussion of that ... along with how to use it to your advantage.
Musharaf 1 Aug, 2022 @ 9:25am
Outer track only spawns outgoing trains but no incoming trains :(
Sasquatch 14 Jul, 2022 @ 5:22pm
Forgot I had this. I've been stacking the bare template to get multiple tracks. That works great because they act as individual terminals, so they always work as expected... which mutlitrack terminals don't always do.
Graf 24 May, 2022 @ 10:08am
@Frasco I found that out the hard way too. Then I saw someone comment on a Biffaplays vid where he did the same thing and I realized I had done it too. I guess it's a bug, but you have to use it behind the cargo airport entrance and keep it back there. If you put it on a normal road every single truck in the city comes there. They will even drive past other cargo stations. Maybe it flags itself as super high importance so airport cargo doesnt leave the airport if you have it, but when outside of airport that breaks the normal trucks. It's actually insane how much traffic it causes, it's a good way to test a traffic design lol. Good to hear this works too though since I was looking for the same thing you are talking about.
The God's Hand Killer 22 Mar, 2022 @ 1:02am
Unsubbing. Looks like the fix for getting the second track to work requires a MOD. Looks cool though. Sorry to see it doesn't work without the additional MOD!
Frasco 18 Mar, 2022 @ 5:05pm
I bought the airport dlc and was happy to see a double bay cargo station. After getting the airport to level 3 I finally get to place the cargo terminal and train station. One track to my main industrial hub and another to my secondary, hoping the station would work for both of the industrial zones to import and export through the cargo airport. WRONG!!! The bloody trucks started driving from the whole city towards the dlc station and trains only spawned exitwise towards an outside train track. No imports, no trucks coming or going from the cargo airport, no trains at all on the second track.

So I read about this asset. In 3 minutes it was doing everything the dlc station was supposed to do. No conflicts with my large list of mods. Great work by @BloodyPenguin and a shameful display by Colossal Order.
PowerofBass 4 Feb, 2022 @ 9:14am
this works nice! i had to upgrade capacity for my industry.. could you please make it even for citizen transport ? pleassee :P maybe just more thatn 2tacks, big cities with rush transport needs big capacity of stations :)
Cybie257 2 Feb, 2022 @ 8:35pm
@Wertherland That worked perfectly. Clicking on each SPAWN / DESPAWN button for the second track, after a minute or two, trains started using the track! :steamhappy: Not sure of any other method, but for those that don't know and what I used, the buttons are on the Spawn Points MOD tool.
Tetsuya Tsurugi 31 Jan, 2022 @ 6:21am
I tried to use new airport's double track cargo station, but is so slow :(

I love this station even today
Wertherland 29 Jan, 2022 @ 1:18pm
For those who noticed second track not working/spawning trains. Probably the "building respawn tool" is on. I fixed the station by going into the building and clicking SPAWN/RESPAWN on that track. Looks like it refreshes the properties. Started working immediately.

I have found that with the "building Respawn Points" https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2511258910 , If i set the second track to be a span only track, it seems to allow both tracks to work without needing to setup any one way stuff.
Hope this helps :steammocking:
AdmiralWen 25 Nov, 2021 @ 8:42am
Does the outer track receive trains now? Or do we need another mod to help do that?
Larry Skylines 1 Nov, 2021 @ 12:31pm
I have found this station works best if the inner and outer tracks go in different directions (serve different outside connections or only one side serves an outside connection) and do not connect to the same rail line, or by using one way tracks through each side.
vsvg.scattered 25 Sep, 2021 @ 7:08pm
Upon reread the explanation in description seems ambiguous.
Does "Fixed: Fixed cargo connections to the outer track" mean ...

"... the outer pair of tracks can receive trains, just like the inner pair. Only one line of each pair can spawn, though, so trains can wait even though a track is open."
or
"... fixed another portion of the outer track as to spawning trains, but the outer pair still cannot receive or despawn trains."

Now that both pair receive and spawn, I am curious if I broke something.
Ilion 24 Sep, 2021 @ 12:14am
@VSVG, "Spawn blocking" is a good name for what you're describing.
vsvg.scattered 23 Sep, 2021 @ 9:04pm
Wow it got even better. The outside track is now receiving trains, too, reloading them, and sending them back out within the city. Do not know what I did, if anything.

It gets nasty to watch spawn blocking, when the terminal spawns 10 trains in a row on track 4, while a train is waiting to enter from the right, and it refuses to cross over to track 3 (like passenger trains sometime do). Will need to retihink connection directions to manage spawn blocks.
Ilion 10 Sep, 2021 @ 2:35pm
@VSVG, ==The two main goals delivered by the station are ...==

Exactly.

It's a great asset, and it's even better once one understands how to use it to achieve those two goals.
vsvg.scattered 10 Sep, 2021 @ 1:46pm
The two main goals delivered by the station are transferring goods between trains without the inefficiencies of truck loading and unloading AND making it easier to segregate internal intra-city from external inter-city cargo lines.

Thank you BloodyPenguin, and thank you Ilion for helping us see how to better benefit from them.
vsvg.scattered 10 Sep, 2021 @ 1:45pm
The second track is quite functional, just spawn only. Many people put truck loops between cargo stations into the workshop before assets like this existed.
Service 1) receiving goods via inter-city train and sending them along internal intra-city network without using trucks for the transfer.
Service 2) "protecting " your city's Cargo Harbour Hub and Cargo Airport Hub from invasion by inter-city cargo trains. Live unto Gov. Huey P. Long at Baton Rouge, they must first pass through a transit hub.
Service 3) now that Ilion https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/id/Ilion7 has pointed out the benefits of using one-way tracks to demark the spawn-only track, stations can also spawn trains to go to other cities. Genius!!! I have missed this benefit, and I actually added a third transit station to go the other way.
ALesserMan 4 Sep, 2021 @ 6:19am
@Ilion no no. Cargo trains. There is no depot. I think I got it working with the building spawn points editor...just copied the one spawn point n moved it into place
Ilion 3 Sep, 2021 @ 1:59am
Jeddaka, when the asset is working, the inner track (nearest the road) can both receive and spawn trains, while the outer tracks can spawn trains but cannot receive them.

I recall an old comment to the effect (and I did once experience the situation) that once in a while, the *location* of the depot can cause it to not work properly. So, it might be that placing the depot elsewhere will get it working for you. Think of it as unintended 'feng shui'.
ALesserMan 2 Sep, 2021 @ 9:24pm
i don't get this at all. two functioning lines, yet...only one is actually used. i've read many of the comments. can't say i'm completely following. how do i get the 2nd line to work? i've tried connecting to separate train lines, no joy. i've "touched" the tracks, and changed them to one way, and two ways and so on, still no joy. that 2nd track is just ... eye candy?

@BevansDesign,
As far as I know, the best solution to cargo stations' terrible through-put of trucks is stations which don't require the trucks to *turn*. The ones I know about are:
"Intermodal Double Cargo Station" ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2274171212 )
""Express Cargo Station 2.0 ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2072533988 )

One can also slightly increase through-put of a regular station by redrawing the access road to connect directly to the spawn-point at the perpendicular.

Another option is to use the "cheat" functions of my "Despawn Manager" mod ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2306554537 ) to force trucks to despawn upon deliver of their cargoes.
BevansDesign 8 Aug, 2021 @ 4:14pm
This is great, but I'd really like to see a cargo station with two road connections, so it can take in and spit out trucks more quickly. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find one yet.

How about you developing the Ability to Read, rather than demanding that I or someone else repeat for the umpteenth time what we have already written?
MechaShadowV2 1 Aug, 2021 @ 11:44am
@Ilion how about you actually explain what you even mean instead of just saying "have you read how to use it to you're advantage? " As frankly that's rather awkward sounding and is more confusing then helping. especially if you're going to take the time to respond to every person, might as well do it in a way that helps.
