@fuck*****, I encounter that bug somewhat frequently, even when not using any formation mods. It seems to go away *eventually*, usually after one or more save/reloads or client restarts - it might also fix itself after travelling and loading to a new region of the map. Unfortunately I haven't figured an exact formula, and it feels more like doing the right superstitious pigeon dance to fix it.

Worked for one play through, but Im doing the Rebirth Slave start and all they do it try to be as close as the person they are following, moving in a blob mass around the person I told them to follow.

Kafkatrap 31 MAY 2021 a las 14:44

Xero  [autor] 20 MAY 2020 a las 11:24
All on the same person?
space is cool 20 MAY 2020 a las 11:19
yeah staying close
Xero  [autor] 20 MAY 2020 a las 11:07
Are they following as a job?
space is cool 20 MAY 2020 a las 11:05
weird that military formation still makes them just follow normally without a formation
Xero  [autor] 20 MAY 2020 a las 11:04
It still works.
space is cool 20 MAY 2020 a las 10:30
I guess this doesn't work anymore?
Xero  [autor] 6 DIC 2018 a las 0:06
Most likely not, but this was uploaded before the option to change formations was put into the game.
Pwnicus 5 DIC 2018 a las 15:47
is this different from the selectable "military" formation available in the menu? (the other option being caravan style or something, but I never use that one)

Something I noticed is the starter character, or whoever is first in the squad list is always leader, even if set to follow someone else, they try to take up the same position. Minor bug but otherwise a good formation.

The reason I even discovered this is, I tend to have everyone follow the slowest character so that no one falls behind but I can still move at the fastest pace possible.

Redarmy 28 FEB 2018 a las 10:03

Redarmy 28 FEB 2018 a las 9:38
is there anyway this mod could get updated?it stopped working with the latest patch...god i miss it
Hidalgo 3 MAY 2017 a las 18:08
Yea its working pefectly,i tested your 2 formations mods, probably i forgot to import in some moment. No problems with your mod right now, tested with follow and bodygaurd tasks
Xero  [autor] 3 MAY 2017 a las 18:06
Do you have any other mods?
Hidalgo 3 MAY 2017 a las 17:56
Yea, same squad with the job of follow/bodyguard and tested in diferent marching speeds, the most part of the times not in a clear formation. I saw hungry bandits wandering more organized than my guys lol. Sometimes they are a bit more organized and surround the leader but they dont march like the holly nation knights, with a clearly leader on the front and the group some steeps behind. Gonna check this mod a little bit more and will notice you.
Xero  [autor] 3 MAY 2017 a las 17:48
Hidalgo, is the mod enabled? Is follow set to a permanent job for the character? Are they all in th same group?
Hidalgo 3 MAY 2017 a las 16:04
This mod doesnt work for me, my troops keep marching on that horde formation behind the leader.
[RG] Lidren 23 MAR 2017 a las 19:56
Considering I have raised a special ops level squad and am working on another, to eventually take against the holy nation. Total need-to-have...my mod list is growing XD
matrixmod 14 FEB 2017 a las 18:10
In the launcher. I got it. Thank you.
Xero  [autor] 14 FEB 2017 a las 8:56
There's an option in the launcher, right under the "Mods" tab :)
matrixmod 14 FEB 2017 a las 8:49
do I have to? Havent used any mods so far I dont know how to enable it. How do I do that?
Xero  [autor] 14 FEB 2017 a las 8:00
Did you enable it Matrix?
matrixmod 14 FEB 2017 a las 7:57
this doesnt work...
Hulubulo 13 FEB 2017 a las 3:49
Love this mod! It works great for smaller factions especially and okay with big ones so long as you have them squaded up right. My only request is to find a way to make the same formation be able to include more than 20 people!
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 10:13
yes. using a similar workaround. basically as described below, making the problematic char follow some other char other than leader. As long as both are humanoid, they won't budge around that much as they take up less space.

just reporting the issue in case it will be helpful though. thanks!
Xero  [autor] 6 NOV 2016 a las 9:06
Hmmm a workaround i can think of if make it so one person follows the bull and the rest follow the one following the bull.
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 2:43
moved them around, and while they are moving, I paused the game and save. Then load again. yup jobs stays persistent, including the special leader-wanna-be back bugging the leader ;)
Xero  [autor] 6 NOV 2016 a las 2:24
Hmmm, try saving and loading after moving positions around?
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 2:15
ok not sure if it matters, but this guy is the first char I create when starting the game. I would have thought there is no difference so I did not mention before. now I am not so sure...
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 2:14
addon: workaround

If I make the leader-wanna-be char follow another char which follows the chosen leader, only then he will stop bugging the chosen leader (he starts to bug the other guy he is set to follow, pushing into each other... lol)
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 2:11
ok did some more testing with... strange results.

first of all this definitely works:
first guy is human. all follow him. only he is in the leader position.
But if I make first guy the bull (to be fair, after I assign follow job, I give everybody a move order to jumble them), the first human guy always try to take up the leader position beside the bull (i.e. no diff if bull is in different position).

I did another experiment: I swap the positions 1st human guy with the 2nd human guy.
The former first guy STILL go into the leader position with the bull... (not the new guy I moved to the first position in squad)

iow, it is always the same guy fighting for leader position, and the formation will only look normal if he is the one being followed.

Xero  [autor] 6 NOV 2016 a las 1:45
Reorganize your squad so the Bull is in the very first position, let me know if that works :)
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 1:38
with pleasure:

In this squad, I made members 1-10 follow member 13 (cow) (members 11 and 12 are elsewhere).

although everybody is following 13 (cow), member 1 tries to occupy same space.
result is they keep nudging into each other spinning the formation constantly. well, if I don't mind the disorder, actually makes a slow athletic training merry-go-round lol.
Xero  [autor] 6 NOV 2016 a las 1:09
Link me a screen please?
sf 6 NOV 2016 a las 1:07
yes all in same squad. just that the leading cow is not in first position
Xero  [autor] 5 NOV 2016 a las 23:15
Are they in the same group?
sf 5 NOV 2016 a las 23:03
I tried this out, and it seems to be working fine except for a small quirk.

When I make 10 party members follow the 11th member (bull), the 1st party member will "fight" with the bull for the leader position, constantly pushing each other around. the formation still works but the leader wrestling is a little disturbing for a player who enjoys order (thus wants this mod! lol)

Wonder if this is a bug with animal or a bug with following character not in 1st position?
Xero  [autor] 22 OCT 2016 a las 11:30
You need to have someone set to follow as their job, and they need to be in the same group.
Skay24 22 OCT 2016 a las 6:15
It's not working for me. I need to do something specific??
Goweigus 15 OCT 2016 a las 3:12
Oh how this makes my 1 man 9 dog travelling SOOOOOO much better (now my dogs arent so spread out with 2 that were a few times further from me than the rest)
Goweigus 11 OCT 2016 a las 1:21
oh man i completely forgot about this mod after commenting months ago! Gonna give it a go!
Xero  [autor] 12 AGO 2016 a las 13:32
Havn't tested using both, i imagine there would be more crashes involved due to the fact that they both change the same thing and thus create conflict.
CipherDec 12 AGO 2016 a las 5:43
Thank you so much. Just to make sure does the millitary and caravan formations overwrite each other?
Goweigus 1 JUL 2016 a las 6:57
How does this affect following a bull? A lot of the time 9 people following a bull seems to have them sorta tripping over it running too close to it making his movement animation sorta stutter/make freqeuent split second stops. sounds like this mod would take care of that
