Broken?: Cannot unequip nor place.
Add the mod and start your server and wait until it has downloaded the mod.
Now what you are looking for is located in
> [Unturned Server] > Servers > [Name] > Workshop > Steam > content > 304930
You want to copy the 709486342 folder.
Make sure you have installed the mod on your client and locate
> SteamLibrary > steamapps > workshop > content > 304930
Paste the 709486342 folder here.
Once done you should have copied the GUID from your server and synced them to your client. If you want to be sure, you can look inside the pasted folder and check for the .dat that ends with _r4c.dat and compare it to the server version.
Now you can start your game.
Hope this helps anyone.
The workshop will only be used by me and my friends in our private server. It will be removed from the workshop once the batch is updated by you. I hope you'll understand.
As for the results, I've only test with foundation as it is the most easiest and it works for both single player and multiplayer. I'm happy to share the files for you to update this mod. The mod will be unlisted until your respond.
This should (hopefully) fix the issue where when you unsubscribe from the mod and resubscribe, all of the structures will disappear in Singleplayer on the new version of the mod.
I wish I could help more but this is really all I can provide without knowledge on how the Workshop work. Though I believe this is the only extra step that needs to be done.
I've followed all your steps to finally add the workshop pack to my server and I'm now able to join, but I cannot place the items down. I can spawn the items in, drop them on the floor, and pick them back up, but for some reason it will not let me equip it. I've had this issue before with another mod, the More Farming Mod, and all I had to do was Subscribe to the mod. But if I do that, I get an error when I try to join the server, saying there is a 'Modified or Corrupted Asset'. I've tried everything I can think of. I've removed the workshop completely from my server and my game, readded them, but it still is trying to use a different version of it or something.
Unless there is another way to remove mods that I don't know about, there isn't much more I can think of to get it working.
Basically I can't place down anything from this mod on my server because I believe the pre-made GUID is missing in the .dat files for each type of structures.
I could be completely wrong about this but at least from what I have tested and checked with other mods, the GUID matches the downloaded mod on the client and the server, while this does not.
Hope this information helps.
Ok, the [WOOD] Building Assets seems to once again be working as advertised, lol. Only did some basic testing; Charming Pine & Maple floors, pillars, stairs etc. All appears back to normal. Will do some extensive testing over the next few days and let you know if I see anything.
BTW, I didn't mention this before so as not to muddy the waters, but any older saved maps (pre last release) that had [WOOD] Building Assets structures already built would play and save normally. Just any new structures created, or edits of an existing structure would disappear.
Keep up the great work!
So, with that being said, I will explain the problem I had. I am 100% a solo player, not on a server. The problem I experienced was that anything built using this mod would disappear when quitting and re-starting. You could "exit" to Main Menu, load a different map, then come back, and everything was fine. But if you quit (to desktop) and then re-loaded Unturned, all structures built using this mod were simply gone.
I do not use the metal buildable structures, and as I stated above, I am strictly a stand-alone solo player. So I am only speaking to the problems I was experiencing. I will load up a map to test and provide further details if I notice anything.
Seriously and Sincerely, thank you again for taking the time to address this.
also wanna say thank you for putting in the time to fix this mod :)
I recently started playing unturned again after a 2 month break.
the mods worked fine for me 2 months ago
i boot up a new fresh world and start building a base with both your Wood and Metal assets. aswell as using vanilla items. when i quit the map, and rejoin. everything i placed down is still there.
however when i turn the game off and on again all your assets are gone. only the vanilla items remain.
This is the same for both official/workshop maps
i have tried placing a single floor down of every wood type/metal both vanilla and modded on a flat area to make sure it didn't have to do with terrain conflict or such. still your assets dissapear.
hope this helps, if u need more info feel free to DM to speed up the process :)
So again, I need a few of you to calmly and clearly explain the issues you are having with the mod itself. If you spam or shit-post, I will delete your comments. Thank you.
While my coding days are long since over(I'm an old retired guy) I would be willing to assist in any way I can. I have nothing but free time these days since I'm retired. If you need a tester etc. Let me know.
Now, I am going to go give this mod the highest award available (it deserves it), and if further (small) monetary contributions might help to expedite the fix, let me know.
I will wait (not so) patiently. Thank you for this mod.
To those of you patiently waiting for an update, please know that I deeply appreciate you all and will hopefully have something for you soon. My weekends are currently dedicated to professional work and home-life changes. I have not forgotten about the mods, I've just been far busier this year than expected. <3
