De verdad éste mapa es muy viejo :D

Great, I'm glad it works for you! Wow, it's from 2016! Really old map :D

I love this map, its perfect for the military base i want to build thanks!
PhazezGova 22 nov. 2022 la 13:16
Okay, thank you very much for your answer. I have started a game in Vanilla Valley again and there are 3 types of fish, I have just seen again
MrMiyagi  [autor] 22 nov. 2022 la 11:41
Thanks! Oh right, any older maps will not have been built with the fishing industry in mind. It requires you to intentionally build in the four different water variations of water depth and current speed that produces the 4 different fish environments. I think a few early maps of mine (unintentionally of course) have all four (off the top of my head, I bet Celtic Shores and Emerald Coast do). When I remade maps I've altered water depth and current flow in order to make more fish zones. It's a real pain, I wish they could just be painted, but it makes sense for them to have done it this way so all older maps automatically have fishing, even though most will only have a couple fish types
PhazezGova 22 nov. 2022 la 5:24
I also think your maps are incredibly good. I actually only use yours. With the older maps, I just wonder if the newer DLCs work as well as the fish industry :)
MrMiyagi  [autor] 13 nov. 2022 la 10:11
No problem at all! That'd be great because the infrastructure style and technique is ancient on this map :D It can be done so much better now with all the mods we have today. Thanks and post us the link!

Mind if I submit a map that's based on this, with minor tweaks to the landscape and significant changes to highway and rail networks?
MrMiyagi  [autor] 26 mart. 2022 la 14:54

Great! I'm glad you like them. This map will also hold a big city.
Onmyodo 30 ian. 2022 la 2:33
Dude i really love your maps. I created a 300k city in Vanilla Coast and i want to make a new one in here. Great Job!
youngswisha0 17 ian. 2022 la 14:43
why doesnt my trains and other transportation work on this map?
MrMiyagi  [autor] 24 apr. 2021 la 15:37
Glad you like it!
ArcTurus 24 apr. 2021 la 14:42

I just found this map Rio Monte, I love it. I have not started my city yet, but wanted to take the time to thank you.
MrMiyagi  [autor] 28 oct. 2018 la 6:06
Glad it's given you lots of playtime. Vanilla Coast, Vanilla Lake and the new map Steeltown are pretty similar - large flat area, fast river / bay and shore, hills or mountains in the background.
Woowookins 28 oct. 2018 la 5:53
Still playing this map. Waiting on Rio Monte II.
MrMiyagi  [autor] 4 oct. 2018 la 9:52
LOL and it took me two months to get to your reply. I've been taking a long break. Glad LSM fixed it for you!!
realott 20 aug. 2018 la 0:38
I saw your reply now, 2 months later :D It is very rare when I comment here so I guess I pretty much forget it right away but now out of curiosity I wanted to see about my messages in Steam.
Actually that essential Loading Screen fixed it for me after I commented here about the problem.

I am so busy lately that I dont have much time for gaming but I decided that I contniune with this game (with your map). Even if I play only an hour in a week. Usually I tend not to stay with one save (whatever the game) and get bored easily but it is actually great to try to keep a save for a long time because then I link with it better :)
So thanks again for the map :D My population is about 70k and I can't wait to reach 90k because I have a mod that lets me purchase all the land tiles then and I can finaly start building next to THE BEACH, can't wait :D
MrMiyagi  [autor] 15 iun. 2018 la 14:20
The other tip is that before loading up a save game, always quit the game completely. Never go to the main menu and then try reloading a save.
It's a thing... I can't explain the technical reasons behind it, but Avanya taught me this and it totally works. I pretty much have no crashes and no hangs any more :steamhappy: :)
MrMiyagi  [autor] 15 iun. 2018 la 14:17
Well I can probably help with that. Get yourself the essential Loading Screen mod here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=667342976&searchtext=loading
What it does is allow you to watch the RAM load tally up during the loading screen. My guess is that you're nearing or over your RAM limit. If you see your numbers go into the red, that means you have to cut back on subscriptions (or deactivate stuff you're not using). If your game won't finish loading and is stuck on red, then you REALLY need to reduce subscriptions :D It's so easy to surpass what your computer can handle with this game.
Cut back on items that have very large file sizes. You can use another helping mod called Mesh Info to find out what items you have subscribed to are bad for performance. Like Loading Screen Mod, it's got handy color coding . Green good, red bad lol.
This is how I survive with this game. I don't know much about the technical side of things, so those two mods save my skin!
realott 15 iun. 2018 la 8:57
I also really happy with this map I think I was 60k population already but now I'm struggling to load the game, something is messed up :(
I really hope I can get it to work again because this is so fun save.
Thanks for the map it is good to play and looks nice!
MrMiyagi  [autor] 14 iun. 2018 la 22:49
Awesome! I'm glad it works for you and thanks for letting me know. I'll be building a few more flat maps that have interesting background scenery. :) Happy building!
EvanBear 14 iun. 2018 la 13:59
I've tried many of the more flat maps available in the workshop before settling on yours for my very first city. The vanilla maps are just too hilly for my taste and many of the custom maps I tried didn't have enough detail or resources and connections. Yours on the other hand is absolutely perfect! My city is growing more and more and it looks awesome - thanks to your map. I like that it's flat but still looks natural and interesting. Really well done - I'll recommend Rio Monte to everyone who is looking for a flat map :)
ShockRock 22 apr. 2018 la 19:52
Finally :P a flat map that me goooosta
Cast Iron Duck 8 aug. 2017 la 17:16
I have! I just bought the DLC. It's good to find a nice starter map for getting back in the game.
MrMiyagi  [autor] 8 aug. 2017 la 13:28
Oh! You've been away for a long time, then. The updates with shadows and moving sun/moon are amazing aren't they? Glad it's fixed, and yes mod free is a sure way to play problem free (although, I do have to warn, that 81 tiles is a complex mod than can cause issues, but BloodyPenguin is a great modder, so there's that.) Have a good time!
Cast Iron Duck 8 aug. 2017 la 9:57
Thank you so much for your answer. I am not using any mods (except the 81 tile one). I did poke around and realize that the flickering went away when I turned off shadows. The tree shadows moving in the wind may just be new since I last played. I am enjoying your map flicker-free.
MrMiyagi  [autor] 8 aug. 2017 la 1:03
Hi there, glad to help. A map cannot do that sort of thing, especially a map that used no mods at all, since maps don't change anything about the game's code itself. Good news though: I do know the answer! :) There's at least one mod makes the trees flicker. I also had it going on. Trees flickering is most likely Random Tree Rotation mod. Go check out the mod's page for discussions on it and the steps to fix it. There may be others that do this, just fyi.
There's another mod that causes my trees shadows to pixellate awfully and flicker. I still haven't verified exactly which mod it is, but I have been able to fix it by unsubbing from the last mods I subbed, verifying integrity of local game files /under Preferences when you right click the name Cities Skylines on your Steam Library Page, then restarting the entire computer. I have NO idea why it works :D but it seems to. If you find out which causes pixellated tree shadows, let me know! :D
Cast Iron Duck 7 aug. 2017 la 16:22
I like this map. But I have a problem. The trees are flickering. Is there something else I need to load to make it work right?
UniverseMasterer 11 oct. 2016 la 23:05
just what i wanted :) (BTW, make more maps like this :D )
MrMiyagi  [autor] 7 sept. 2016 la 7:20
Thanks! Yup, I got a request for a map that's just plain yet natural, with as much room for as massive infrastructure as is possible. Even the name is plain: Rio Monte = river.. mountain. That's it. LOL XD
AdvancedFollower 7 sept. 2016 la 2:57
Nice map! Just started a new city and chose this map.
Well designed without being over the top with details, leaving lots of room to be creative. Good, flat terrain for a large city while still looking natural and realistic.
Didox 19 aug. 2016 la 15:18
Great map, a lot of flat place to be creative :) Thx for your work.
Katalepsis 11 aug. 2016 la 12:52
Don't forget to add your new maps to your All In one collection :p
mars 3 iul. 2016 la 15:22
Thanks mate!
MrMiyagi  [autor] 3 iul. 2016 la 14:51
I never found the time / inspiration to do other examples - it's a ton of work to make guides I found
MrMiyagi  [autor] 3 iul. 2016 la 14:50
No, there is no basically, really. You can do them entirely by hand using a very low power setting on the brush and some custom brushes, or draw them in photoshop or GIMP and then let Wilbur erode them, a million different ways. Here is a guide which shows just one way, but it also has the link to wilbur and pdf guides with many different possiblities. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=482232215
mars 3 iul. 2016 la 14:38
So basically we use terrain party to get heightmaps then we edit it in wilbur?
MrMiyagi  [autor] 3 iul. 2016 la 4:09
Pizzare you can use an old but free program caled Wilbur, or you get some tips from the master Owl - check out his maps O.O amazing! Also, you can use the website terrain.party to get real world heightmaps and use Wilbur to edit and erode them
mars 3 iul. 2016 la 2:44
how can you make a realistic looking mountain?
FAILZORD 2 iul. 2016 la 19:04
Looks good. But will add, you can get away with bridges over roads at 8m or 10m (depends on road type under/bridge above, train bridge requires more). 12m is if you don't want the street lamps/rail poles sticking through.
Captain-No 1 iul. 2016 la 14:49
Thumbs up :anchor:
MrMiyagi  [autor] 30 iun. 2016 la 7:13
Thanks! It's meant for you all who love to spread out. I'm not the best at making good, realistic infrastructure, so if you want to make a version of this map all your own, feel free to. It is released to the map editor to edit as you wish! :)
Pumblino 30 iun. 2016 la 6:02
This is a nice map. With all the land available for building on, this leaves endless possibilities. Thanks
Kryten 30 iun. 2016 la 2:39
Nice one mate. Thanks!
