yeah that worked sadly certain parts of the elevation changes are too sharp and grounded and derailed the Superliners I was using.

Need to restart it.... Try that.

I know this is an old release but I can't get it to work. like doesn't even show up.

(I've got a 35mm lens I use a lot for architectural photography that has almost 0 distortion I use for stuff like this)

Alright, no worries. I'm a professional photographer - if I'm up there again, I'll do the pictures, since its a few hours away. Its one of my favorite parts of the state, tbh. I'm hoping to photograph the Big Boy coming through here soon, since I caught it in Wyoming.

Photos would need to be taken at 50mm lense setting on a SLR/DSLR or similar camera, to prevent curves and preserve linearity.
Video would have to do the same.
I cannot honestly answer that question right now.
I think it is going to be very time consuming and would recommend you against it.
Simply I have not worked on it and I am not even sure I will even start working on it again.
Thanks for the offer.
I'm not saying I will never do it, just right now I doubt it.

I don't have THAT detailed of photos - I mostly have htem at the east end of the canyon. It does lead me to some important questions since I can likely have someone help me do this.

Which would be more useful - photos taken down the whole canyon, or video footage from Glenwood Springs up the canyon, taken along I-70?

No they haven't, their site was merely offline.....
ANZACMonash-AAPG Daniel  [ophavsmand] 7. juli 2019 kl. 9:12
I will have to share the project through other means. Last time I checked Railworks America have gone bust.....
ANZACMonash-AAPG Daniel  [ophavsmand] 7. juli 2019 kl. 9:11
Well I haven't really worked on it for probably that reason. If I could have a few photos to mess with to put them in blocks (can't guarantee it will be photo for photo, but if you have lots of photos and are willing to give them to me for freeware use....
When I do construct something with your photos the project will not be upload-able to workshop.
So, if you can add me as a friend on Steam and message me the locations of the photos (share?).

After I obtain them it requires I go and make some 3D Objects.

The more on site input I have then I can put it in game.

Thanks for the interest.

Maybe you can give advice on a few places in the Canyon that we should prioritize for more detail. That is, I will try and wrap photos onto blocks for each segment you have photographed 1:1 so it is kind of 'photoreal'. If you can understand that.

Two questions: First, is this still in progress? It hasn't been updated since August 2016.
Second: Do you still need photographs of the canyons? I've done a bit of photography in the canyon as well as some photos of trains passing through, not sure if that'd help.

Thanks. I think Trainsimworld or a new software using advanced techniques to do the rocks would be best. This is really a vertical canyon.

"Cab Ride Through The Rockies" is a set of 3 DVDs filmed aboard Amtrak heading west from Denver; best price at present appears to be thru Amazon.com . Program shows multitude of trackside rocks and other details, and should be of help with this project. It is also enjoyable viewing for many railfans anyway.

You may not mark the tracks as type "freight". Otherwise all quickdrives will not work. In QDs ALL trains are of type "passeneger". Just use only "mainline" or "yard".

OpenRailer I have updated this one so you don't need to worry now.

Feel free to delete the old version
ANZACMonash-AAPG Daniel  [ophavsmand] 20. juli 2016 kl. 2:48
Maybe it works for them but due to problems I can only do it this way. Sorry.
Walter White 18. juli 2016 kl. 17:26
It is possible to just update the existing entry, this is done with the Bergen Line.
ANZACMonash-AAPG Daniel  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2016 kl. 9:30
Thank you for the tip. But isn't that on the railroad anyway between Denver and Glenwood Springs?
gallagher4005 13. juli 2016 kl. 6:03
DO NOT FORGET THE MOFFAT TUNNEL. That would be just wrong. All 6.2 miles of it.
ANZACMonash-AAPG Daniel  [ophavsmand] 13. juli 2016 kl. 1:25
I am going to concentrate on laying the track and placing basic scenery. As above, FROM Glenwood Springs heading EAST to Denver.
Stations or buildings that you think you would like to have in the route, send the photos in. They have to be front on though, and I can't promise they will be included in the route. But the plan is we will do that.
Some major buildings, like resorts, hot springs etc. Try to photograph 1 building per photo. Especially in between Glenwood Springs and Denver. But the additional created scenery will have to be uploaded elsewhere. Only the content available with downloadable content through Steam (TS2016 DLC) can be made available here in workshop.

Good luck; that's a very ambitious project. Are you starting at Glenwood and heading east, or heading west? I live in Denver, and could provide pictures of specific locations and building, of you tell me what you need.
