Initial release of my mod on TW:WH2, currently the only thing supported is the name changes and i've not renamed the 3 new dwarf factions.

thanks! if you could... could you please make it so longbeards don't have a model without a helmet? that always looked so stupid to me.... It would eliminate the need to search for a mod to give them all helemts seperately in WH2 ? :)

@rock ah ok i wasn't sure what you mean't by SFO, yeah sorry i'm not really keen on making a second mod and then trying to balance it against another mod. Its difficult enough balancing stuff against vanilla.
Sorry, understand that later in a games life people tend to play more modded but trying to balance it against a specific overhaul where there are so many overhauls is too big a can of worms.

I don't play anymore without SFO. Vanilla is just no fun. I love your mod and it's always been a must have for me. The only problem is that it doesn't play nice with Steel Faith Overhaul. Josef Bugman doesn't show up in game, likely as he's overwritten by another unit from SFO. The other units do but they aren't balanced and much weaker than the units in Steel Faith Overhaul. I was just curious if you'd be keen on putting in some time to make a Steel Faith Overhaul version of your mod. If you don't play much yourself anymore you might not be interested in burning time on it though, so I understand. Thanks for the response Sir!

Hi @Rock33S I gave them a little update just the other day after the patch, i couldn't see anything else needed as not much for the Dwarfs changed.
Do you have anything specific that you think was needed? I'm not playing TWW very much but happy to keep the mod updated.

@fine thanks for that i'll take another look. I thought they were priced reasonably fairly above a rank 9 dwarf warriror but maybe i missed a price change for the dragonfire warriors in the patch.
The goldshields have a bonus to attack and def + magic resistance buff but none are overly powerful.

As a suggestion, the Goldshields should probably have more of an upkeep cost.

As it stands, its upkeep is barely over 5% more than a standard Dwarf Warrior. Compare that to the Dragonfire Warriors, whose upkeep is 33% more than a standard Dwarf Warrior and has inferior Melee Attack and Defense (though with Flaming Attacks and a Bonus vs. Infantry).

Perhaps make it 20-25% above the standard Warrior (129)? Its upkeep would be 161 (+25%) instead of 136 (+5%). Small point, but upkeep adds up fast.

This mod only chnages a few names and adds a few units, it shouldn't do too much else.

Since using this mod, my Dwarf campaign has a permnant Severity rating of 13456134453415....

Basically, even though I have no grudges...my 'Grudge Meter' contains a ridiculously high number...

@alex yes the RoR as split 50/50 withe the main faction so they aren't in 2 places at once.

i have noticed the dwarf smiths seem to cut off the sound. it may be the sound card of this pc not onehundred percent sure. just feltyou should know

Hi all, i'm working on the update which should be out in the next 24-48hrs depending on time available.
This mod is save game compatable so feel free to start a new game then turn this mod back on when your new campaign is underway and ive updated.

@ Moritasgus I just checked again and it is in fact not your mod thats incompatible. It seems I can only activate either Empire Cloak of Darkness or Better Faction Names and Banners. Both work fine with your mod. anyway thx for your response :)

@mafnmarsn thanks for the feedback, my mod should be compatable with others only replacing the Dwarf faction names so its likely the other persons mod thats at fault. I'm unlikely to change any other faction names but if you let me know the mod i'll take a look and see if i can figure out the conflict and maybe you can persudae them to change how they do it.

Hey I just recently stumbled upon your mod and I realized its incompatible with antoher mod that renames all major factions (Epire->Reikland, VC->Sylvania etc.) because they chose Karaz-a-Karak for the dwarfs. I just wanted to ask you if you could rename the other major factions too. I know your mod is about the dawi but I think it would add immersion and you really seem good at these things ;) Either way thanks for the great mod!

Recolouring Dwarfs is not as easy as you think. If you want drwaf units in 2 colours you have to edit the textures, because dwarf units only use one colour atm. You can change the colour tables in red/blue, but units will still look all blue. One Mod which changed textures already is the graphical Overhaul of Lorehammer (Part2). Maybe you can nicely ask to use his textures. Or just use his mod (only use Part 2 if you just want the graphical overhaul), because he already made Clan Angrund Blue/Red. And it looks great.

Thanks all, I'm slowly tinkering with a few things but i don't really want to get into super overhaul territory as maintaining it becomes a big time sink. Recolouring Angrund isn't that difficult, their old warhammer colours are red and black which was later chnaged to red and blue.
There used to be a mod that recoloured all the factions, maybe try and see if that is up to date?
If not its possible i'll do it at some point.

Mod updated and now renames all Dwarf factions as lorefully as possible, if i've made a mistake and you can prove it with a reliable source please add a comment.
I wont change it based on speculation and all but one faction was named from official GW source material.

First Pass update, it appears they haven't changed how modded RoR work so i have had to leave the 4 RoR as single building recruitable over 1 turn rather than instant through the correct menu.
I've also split the RoR between the two factions so you can't get 2 copies popping up of the same unit.
I still need to get Bugmans the same regeneration ability as his rangers and i want to tinker with a few other things like appearence but for now they work and shouldn't cause a problem ongoing.

For the next update i have culled Belegar, Norgrimlings and my generic Dwarf rangers as these are all included in the DLC. I plan to keep Bugman as a RoR but i will need to update his stats and the unit models to match the new Bugmans Rangers in the DLC.
Apart from a quick check through each units stats and adjustments to the RoR depending on how they have changed the mechanics I will try and get an update out as soon as possible after the patch.
After i have got my reduced mod up and running i will see what i can add where to give the Dwarfs some more flavour without going over the top.

First I'll need to see how the DLC integrates with what we currently have and if this will fix the RoR problem of them not working without editing the startpos.
I'm not overly keen in making non-loreful units and would prefer to make units with a bit of a back story.
But like I said, I'll need to see how the DLC plays before I go too much further into my plans.

Hello Moritasgus, I was wondering if given the move by the developers to the more established areas of the Lore for DLC, whether you would consider units which are plausible although not necessarily cannon? For e.g. things inspired by Stone and Steel like Dodgy Scotsmans Gazulites

Hi Everyone,
With the announced DLC the King and the Warlord due in a week, my Mod is quite heavily and not unexpectedly impacted by the new content.
I urge you to finish all games you want to finish before the DLC arrives because once it does this mod will undergo a very lage transformation which will break your save.
The mod will live on in likely a smaller format but obviously many duplicate units will be removed and it will require owning the new DLC thanks to the new assets being added.
Hopefully you all stick with me for the next evolution!
