The real antagonist in this game, the true source of immense almost unknowable evil, is the $%#ing cat that is constant blocking my access to storage and control points aboard my vessel. You have saved me from this diabolical being, and therefore, saved the universe! My hat is off to you good sir.:wololo:

The way the ship works is differently and because of a bug in the base game Pets can respawn and duplicate. Nothing really can be done. That is why pet trap is there. It deletes the cache of the pet

Try this on a tier-9 or higher and pets will... "reappear"

if you are using a custom ship it won't work - since the script only removes it from vanilla terminals.

could somebody make a new sail console that isnt tied with a pet? if you remove the old console and put down a new one it spawns a new pet

Well if you learn a little modding it isn't that complicated just copy a few lines of code into one and make a new house for the prop mod.

The other mod only allows the pets you have added to themod itself. I want the default pet disabled, but allows spawning of other pets (for example, the prop furniture mod)

I really never capture anything for pets.
I just like to use a mod (this little thingy) that just removes the pets from the ship. I like this mod because it is small and does only one thing that I need.

Please, if you have some spare time, can you alter this mod, so this "flashing pets" bug fixed?

Its better to use the purchaseable pets mod. It removes the spawn completely in default vanillia ship.

I don't spend much time in my ship so I just recently find this weird thing. The mod works ALMOST fine, it kills the pet when it spawns on the ship, but I constantly see a "fleshing" pet as it appear on the screen and immediately disappear. It is always appears at the right side of S.A.I.L. After a few seconds it fleshes again and it keeps repeating this weird fleshing.
So it look like the pet is always spawning and then it is immediately deleted. I tried it out, and it is doing it with every race, I can see the different race specific pets as they "flashing" in and out of existence. This is how the mod works?
I using the B.Y.O.S. mod, so I just pick up S.A.I.L. and I put it back only when I need it, because this "fleshing pet" is so annoying.
Can you fix this issue? Is that possible to somehow remove the pet in a way that it doesn't even spawns at all, not just killing it as it spawns, possibly resolving this fleshing issue?

I really don't like to use Steam, I never use it for anything, just to start the games.
Starbound can be played without it.

Edit: I figured it out that how it is possible to make workshop-mods to work in non-steam Starbound, Anyway, thanks for answering to my question.

You will want to look at your starbound.log
This mod doesn't actually cause any conflicts - it just removes a line of code.

Every time I sit in the ship's chair the cat lays down in front of it and goes to sleep. Then when I get out of the chair I can't click on the chair because the cat is in the way. Sooo stupid.
