Don't Annoy Me Hunger Overhaul

Great mod. Makes hunger management far less irritating, and still works with the latest game versions, and FU too. I find myself actually caring about what food I get now, instead of just wanting "anything" to spam to get the full belly buff.

That said, if you ever update the mod.. I noticed your custom passive health regen, doesn't activate in missions that turn off hunger. Some might say this is a feature, as you have to complete the missions with vanilla mechanics (and only get hp regen if you spam food again). But if that's unintentional.. yeah, we're having to spam food for full belly again, during these missions.

Slow fasting, it's very boring. Fast fasting is very interesting and allows you to spend more time searching and cooking food.

Thank you so much!

It affects the drain rate iirc.
Lynch 23 mai 2020 la 18:03
Can anyone confirm whether this halves the drain rate or doubles the capacity? Both have the same effect on "hunger bar duration", but if the capacity is changed, that means you can eat more food before becoming full, so it's a meaningful difference. I want to use this alongside a mod that increases capacity, but I worried it'll break something if they both affect capacity.

Could you, please, make a version without the "hungry but not starving buffs speed and jump by 10%" and with he regeneration if the food bar is more than 70% instead of more than 40%, please? I want the game to be slightly easier, but not too easy.

perfect. :stress::stress:

i wonder why no one has made a mod that disables the full belly status effect
Super Brasilis 17 aug. 2017 la 12:32
maybe can add a thirsty mod , because of drinking water bottle only gets a regeneration red cross

Oh a visual "hunger effect" (particles or thought bubble image) might make a good substitute for the beeping.

Any chance of a version that does more than double the hunger bar? I like the idea of having the choice to eat every so often, or gorge on occasion.

Some possible ideas I had besides that -
* a temporary debuff to the maxHP too when starving. So while it won't directly kill you... it makes death a lot more likely.
* the act of regenerating energy itself drives hunger. While the passive rate is greatly cut. Thus using more energy makes you more so hungry but being passive doesn't require so many calories - makes sense, right?
* That means late game players(who use and regenerate far more energy) would have a greater need for food - something they can certainly handle in the late game.
* To offset that annoyance that a greater need for food might provide, that larger stomach I mentioned so you can just gorge yourself silly.

I might even make that myself eventually, but (if interested) you'd probably get around to it first.

I have been looking for this mod for a while - I didn't search on the key word hunger, and Steam doesn't exactly make their mods easy to sort in the workshop (compare to say, the Nexus). This may not be the exact one that I had seen, but the key element I'm looking for is that longer health regeneration. It seems ridiculous that as soon as you're not full in Vanilla the regen bonus goes away.

Nice mod! I'd rather like to be annoyed by low health though. So many deaths because I've forgot to look at the health bar and nothing else hints at being half dead =(

Great mod, really helps improve an annoying vanillia hunger system.
Kawa 8 aug. 2016 la 13:36
I'm Kawa's stomach and I approve this mod.

By far my favorite hunger mod. The regen over 40% hunger is barely noticeable, but over the long period of time it takes to get below 40%, it's a nice bonus.
Thank you for making this mod.

Passive food regeneration healing is now at a rate of 3 health every 4 seconds, I think. (Just a little slower than a bed.)

Thanks a bunch!

Should be all better now. Casual players without hunger enabled will not get the status effect, and the status effect should not cause anymore AssetException crashes. (Unless you forget to reboot Starbound after subscribing or sommat.)

No need to be sorry :) Modding errors happen.
cat  [autor] 5 aug. 2016 la 21:53
I'm working on it. Sorry.
Stealthy Dragon 5 aug. 2016 la 12:54
My casual mode character seems to have a permanent Food Regeneration buff and if I unsubscribe from the mod I lose that character but I still have the character if I stay subscribed. However I can't play multiplayer cuz I cause errors as Saint stated. It likely is linked to the casual mode bug.
Saint 5 aug. 2016 la 12:36
So, I don't know if this is linked to the Casual mode bug, but when I'm playing with my friend and he beams in on my planet this error is thrown:

"Exception caught in client main-loop (AssetException) Error loading asset /jte/stats/food/regen/foodregen.animation"

We're both subbed to the mod.
cat  [autor] 5 aug. 2016 la 12:10
There may be a bug in it currently where it breaks in Casual mode since the food bar doesn't exist, oops. I'll be looking into it and update again later or tomorrow.
Obsidian [it/its] 5 aug. 2016 la 10:38
How much healing do you get above 40% hunger?
Denial 5 aug. 2016 la 9:24
Very nice mod!

Updated.
