This mod is great but there's a small problem : I got a mod that add a flamethrower to the game BUT only the shotgun's class can equip it, so can you please add the shotgun avaible for this class ?

you should consider updating this mod for WotC, the new advent purifier probably has some useful stuff you could co-opt into this class.

just got my injured shocktrooper corporal upgraded with preparedness... no point bonus, neither armor nor hp whatsoever... using lw2...? what am i missing...?

Eh, Shocks don't really need Phosphorus. generally by the time you're seeing alot of mechanized units, you're probably gonna have Bluescreen ammo or another trooper who specializes in dropping them, plus i believe Tackle actually works to shut down Mechs as well, leaving them open to getting pummeled by the rest of your squad.

Well, the class works on LW2, it just could use some modifications. Especially gaining the Phosphorus perk.

No, it is not that simple. Even if I change the name of the perk on ClassData.ini, the perk simply vanish. So it is pretty obvious I need to edit something else to actually get this perk on the shooktrooper's perk tree.

@radryl check the mod's config folder and look for ClassData.ini. That has the perk tree.

I still want to use Shocktroopers on LW2, because while Technicals do have their own things going there, Shocktrooper can both burn things up and have a few other abilities that help them to flank. The attack to knock enemies down and leave them stunned is handy to both flank or get in a better position to burn...BUT I want to at least change the tree so they can get the Technical's ability to burn mechanic units.

Does anyone know how to edit the perk tree and add that ability?

Without a more comprehensive LW2 version you do need at least this ClassData.ini line to equip heavy weapons with EXO and WAR suits:

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_HeavyWeapon, WeaponType="heavy")

@a8a or anyone interested in further branching the code from Disabused Sunfish's code: It may be more interesting to go off of the LW2 Technical's take on things with its alternate uses for the Heavy Weapon slot of heavy armors that upgrade the class' existing abilities. That probably requires some other scripting changes but in the same ini would be

+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_SecondaryWeapon, WeaponType="gauntlet")
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_HeavyWeapon, WeaponType="heavyammo")

"heavyammo" may be linked toe the gauntlet so it would end up more like
+AllowedWeapons=(SlotType=eInvSlot_HeavyWeapon, WeaponType="fuelcell")

The ammo cost for some of the abiltiies doesn't seem to be configurable. I have SMGs set to have a default clip size of 2 so a lot of abilities won't work without extended mags.

@Esteemed Gentleman Do you have the Non-LW Shocktrooper Class mod in your mods folder anywhere? I had the same issue and I figured out that just having the Non-LW version caused it to load the ini files over the LW version, even though it was disabled in the mod launcher. No idea why. Removing the Non-LW version fixed the problem for me.

Noticed that Firestarter secondary weapon kind of looks wierd (it floats on a distance from the hand) if you equip Serpent suit, although RAGE suit doesnt seem to have that problem/ Havent tested it with Icarus suit yet.

I've been using this mod for a while with no problems but the last couple of games i've tried to run, the far right column of the perks tree is missing save for the final skill.

Really dont want to have to cut this class, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem?

Thanks for this class, still working my way thru using it to be honest very interesting class with the SMG and wrist mounted flame thrower devasting combo. Lot of time and effort went into this, thanks.

@drTauli Shock Troopers are more known as heavier forces (More firepower)Like Delta Squad from SWRC, they would be Shock troopers if they weren't recon troopers.

Why the name Shock Trooper? Shock is more afilliated with electricity instead of fire.
Also how will the secondary weapon interact with exo or spider suits?
and lastly how will the secondary weapon interact with mod everything or grimy's mods

@Cpt. Obvious: the Flamethrower isn't really meant as a damager so much as something for battlefield control and cover demolition, not to mention the obvious help of, you know, lightning enemies on fire. I do agree it could probaly at least use a T2 Variant, maybe mounting the WAR Suit's wrist-mount. if Stenchfury ever pulls off an EXO/WAR Armor variant, that mount could work as well.

Just wondering if it's possible to release a non-perk pack version of this as well. having to fix the coding for Armor and GTS perks nearly every time i verify the game cache is starting to grate on me.

I have a problem with flamethrowers duplicating; everytime I start a new mission I get more, by my 36th mission I had 95 shocktrooper flamers.

Maybe Shocktrooper flame thrower should have tier upgrades? That would solve the issue of it being weak later in the game. I think all other weapons have at least one upgrade (grenade launcher has only T2, while all other have T2 and T3) while flame thrower remains the same.

The answer is yes, it does bug out without LW Perk Pack. Easily fixed for non-Perk Pack users who want a fixed Shock Trooper by making the Long War tree the third one.

Yea I have some balance feedback: the basic flame burst seems really weak, since it is small, doesn't go through the smallest obstacles, only has a *chance* to hit and then a chance to ignite and disorient.

It just feels really weak in comparison to what the LW Perk Pack's 2 sword based classes already do.

Still, I guess I would rather the class be too weak than too strong, but just a little buff would be nice, Maybe I just need to wait until I get some of the later abilities, like tackle.

@Peiyuan you need add an shocktrooper ability into the XComGameData.ini located at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\736664411\Config

i.e.

+AbilityUnlocksAmmoPocket=Momentum
+AbilityUnlocksGrenadePocket=Momentum
