It doesn't work for me, either. I'm not sure why; I checked the two most likely mods to conflict (Strong Oshrooms and Craftable Ocean Plants) and they weren't the problem. I also checked the repository for Frackin Universe and it doesn't seem to modify the kelp foliage. I really want kelp saplings :sad_creep:

I looked into this, and as far as I can tell, 1.1 did not make any changes to seatrees. I'm not sure why the mod isn't working. It seems it must be a mod conflcit, but I didn't see anything in the workshop that would be a problem. If anyone can narrow it down I'll see if it's possible to change the load order or something like that. In the meantime, uninstall/reinstall, maybe?

Originally this mod worked. But I did recently notice that I cut Kelp and did not get a sapling.
Did the 1.1 update change anything? I hope you can find a way to fix things. I love this mod.

I don't know if the 1.1 update changed anything with this mod, but I cut down a kelp plant in the ocean, but I don't get any saplings. Any plans on looking into this?

It doesn't matter if Kelp can grow on both dryland and in water... in fact Kelp isn't always fully submerged in water IRL. IRL Kelp needs water to survive, but it can survive only partially submerged surprisingly. I think this mod is fine enough as it is without altering the Kelp Saplings' functions.

@vinchenzojackal&shoon It kinda bugs me tbh. Originally I was going to make a kelp crop based on coralcreep, then I realized kelp already had saplings they just weren't in the dropcontents. Maybe they don't drop in vanilla because having kelp on dry land kinda breaks immersion.

@Mostly Alone YEs and I keep misspelling it god help me

Are you the guy who misspelled "foliage?" ;D

But thank you for this.

I've purposely gathered tons of water along with coralcreep and reefpod seeds to make lakes and ponds at every planet I go to... so I thought that Kelp would grow underwater, which is the only way for coralcreep and reefpod seeds are planted in the game. A bit odd and unusual, but at least you need not worry about needing tons of water...

They grow under the same conditions as other saplings, they do not have to be underwater.

Kelp Saplings? Genious! I'm not sure why nobody added this! They only need to be placed on any form of sand, dirt, or stone underwater right? Or does it work some other way? I'm still rating up and favoriting. Will subscribe one it mentions how to grow them.
