Sadly the Option to make them more engaging introduced a new Problem and wasnt suboptimal.
In the Better AI Mods they will retreat, but they will also attack with at Least 2 Stacks whenever possible, so they will be harder to defend and attack Cities and harass you with 2 Stacks.

However the Tweaks were always designed for the Better AI Mod with enhanced Legendary Difficulty, where the AI has more Armies and is able to fully invade Enemy Regions with several Stacks.
In Vanilla Difficulty its best to play in Very Hard or better Legendary to fully encounter the AIs true Potential, as they suck with less Money and Cheats/Buffs.

Hello! First of all I'd like to thank you for your effort, this looks like a great mod. Quick question: Will this mod prevent the enemy from running away from my armies constantly if their armies are equal to or only marginally smaller than mine? I understand that it would be the best option for the AI to run away, but being kited in circles by chaos armies for dozens of turns is simply no fun.

Yes it is.
I fixed some of the Problems, like Spearmen instead of Swordsmen.
However AI never disbands its Units or displaces Buildings, so sometimes you will see the same Shit as in Vanilla, theres nothing Modding can help.

@Minos so to avoid legendary cheats I would have to play on easy battle difficulty or easy campaign difficulty? You couldnt change easy difficulty to hard vanilla cheats could you?

Hello, I love the mod, I don't think I could go back to vanila, but I am having a big problem! I have been playing head to head campaigns with a friend. When he was carcasonne we were able to complete it fine, but we tried one with angrund and vamps and another with chaos and vamp.. and both times we run into a crash to desktop around turn 30-40 on carcasonnes turn. If we turn the mod off we can progress past that turn but the itll just do it the next turn! I'm hoping you can help us here. Thanks.

Alright I just thought I'd give some feedback based on what I've seen till now.
Let me just start off by saying I love the challenge, there's only one thing that irritates me a bit. You didn't make this mod with immersion in mind no? It's just that on turn 11 aquitaine is neutral towards me and is liking me more after we finish making a trade agreement, then two turns after he declares war against me. I was just like...okay. And is it normal that templehof destroys the vampire counts? I'm guessing it's cause they gain way more gold than the VC do.
I'll also try the vanilla cheats version to see if it solves the issue, but I thought I'd just give my 2cents on this pretty cool mod.

1. Make a Copy of any oy my Better AI Mods.
2. Open the Copy with PFM Editor - Link here: ( https://sourceforge.net/projects/packfilemanager/ )
3. Expand "script", delete the "wh_chaos_invasion.lua" and save.
4. Start the Game with the Copy activated.

Hey man, I want to use your mod but I see you alter the chaos invasions. I am already using a pretty satisfying chaos invasion mod that changes their army compo and makes them arrive later. I'm guessing that will conflict with your mod so is there a way for me to fix this?

Update:

- less Peasants ( *gg)

- little slower Confederation Bonus for the AI

- tweaked Battle Difficulty Modifiers to something new:
Its the other Way around than in Vanilla, as the AI now gets + 10 and Player - 10 in Normal , + 5 and - 5 in Hard and 0 and 0 in Very Hard/Leg.
As the AI gets hardcoded Cheats on Hard and above, this should provide more even Battles on the Map.

Yeah I know I love this mod, I've finished every single race on legendary with this mod, I just find it a lot harder with Bretonnia due to the very poor start position, at war with 2 very powerful ennemies right off the bat + the orcs.

I manage to destroy the orcs on the 2nd turn every time but its downhill from there.

Haha, i feel you, as im currently playing as Bretonnia in Very Hard , but without this Mod in Vanilla Mod.
And i can tell you, that Marienburg even on Vanilla has 2-3 Stacks and Skaelings invaded my now also with 3,5 Armies.
Also Mousillon was a Pain in the Ass, because after defeating 2 Full Stacks, a 20 Full Stacks just randomly spawns in their Capital, out of nowhere...

So i can understand that this Mod is a Pain in the Ass with Bretonnia...

But once youve beaten the Trouble in the Vanilla early Game, it becomes again a Steamroll.
At least with this Mod it shouldnt be the same.

I've been playing with this mod on legendary for months and I've like it so far, but I don't think its possible to play with Bretonnia with this mod.

Marienburg hits you with 3 full stacks by turn 3.

I've managed to beat them and conquer them after like 20 turns with some insane battles won by the skin of my teeth losing most of my army but now getting invaded by 4 full stacks of skaelings + Karak Ziflin randomly decided to declare war.

Bretonnia is hurt a lot by poor early economy, poor early units and very poor replenishment, and I mean freaking terrible replenishment.

Other races get a skill for like +15% while Bretonnia only gets 8% to knights only, knights that you can't get at the beginning either so you're basically screwed, you have increadibly poor sustain due to little to no replenishment and having to fight constantly with no break.

Gotcha. Are you able to point me to the file to modify? I tried modifying the values of campaign_difficulty_handicap_effects in assembly kit - raw data - db but they have no effect. Do I need to tweak a similar file in your mod and if so where would that be? Thanks so much.

As this Mod touches the Difficulty Tables, it could conflict.
Only Solution is to edit the Tables by yourself,sadly.
