Espionage works just fine with every other mod loaded except Only Mod Civs. It is a very strange conflict.
SamBC  [author] 21 Sep, 2014 @ 3:15pm
Quite honestly, I have no idea. When that one is used on its own, espionage works fine?
FaerFoxx 21 Sep, 2014 @ 3:08pm
Okay I have tested all of my mods against this one to find the source of the problem, and for some reason the conflict is being caused by Monk Preston's Only Mod Civs. That just makes it so only mod added civilizations are listed as options when setting up a new game, there should be no conflict with espionage, and yet there is. What do you think could be causing this?
SamBC  [author] 21 Sep, 2014 @ 6:22am
I've never seen that happening any time using this mod on its own.
FaerFoxx 20 Sep, 2014 @ 7:24pm
For some reason with this mod the espionage screen becomes empty... it says that I have unassigned spies, but there are none on the list, my list of cities is empty, and the list of other cities in the world is also empty. This shouldn't be a mod confliction because none others affect espionage that I have, just this one. Is there any fix for what could be causing this? I really want to use this mod.

Yeah, I looked and saw that I didn't have G&K (I thought I did). Picked it up on sale and it worked. Thanks for the reply.
SamBC  [author] 22 Aug, 2014 @ 4:02am
If you have just BNW, not G&K, it will refuse to load. The way the game does dependencies is a bit crap.
Bilbo Ballbag 21 Aug, 2014 @ 2:43pm
Game is saying 'Missing Dependency'
SamBC  [author] 18 Feb, 2014 @ 6:33am
I haven't tested, but there's no reason I'm aware of that it wouldn't.
Ran The Kitsune 17 Feb, 2014 @ 10:34pm
Will this work on BNW?
Jotho 1 Dec, 2013 @ 8:48am
Thank you! I've been so frustrated to not be able to access espionage until AFTER all the siege units have attacked me, where my spies would be invaluable to creating a defense!
SamBC  [author] 27 Oct, 2013 @ 2:03pm
It can't work for vanilla, as there is no espionage in vanilla.
speXialk 27 Oct, 2013 @ 1:30pm
does it work with vanilla civ5?
SamBC  [author] 28 Sep, 2013 @ 4:35am
It probably refuses to load if you just have BNW. It's a problem with the dependencies system for mods - you can't give it an "or" dependency.
BIG DWARF ENERGY 27 Sep, 2013 @ 6:05pm
hey sambc the thing you said about not needing to have g&k and could work with only bnw it doesnt work if you just have bnw
SamBC  [author] 24 Aug, 2013 @ 7:04am
It should give you 1 more spy the unusual, eventually - still get one in the renaissance.

I didn't do anything to England, and I don't know whether their bonus is coded to give them an extra spy when they get their first, or an extra one in the renaissance.
IDK 24 Aug, 2013 @ 6:59am
The game's usual rhythm is to add one spy per era starting with the Renaissance (+1, +1, +1, etc), correct? This mod awards +1 spy in the Medieval age and then +0 in the Renaissance to compensate though, unless I am mistaken.

Also, I've wondered if England would get 2 spies in the Renaissance instead of one, or if you chose to space out the extra bonus spy and have it appear in the Renaissance for them instead.
Azikiel 21 Aug, 2013 @ 2:28pm
Is it neccesary to have that as a requirement? What would happen if you removed the requirement? (sorry if I seem stupid, and I know I don't know what I'm talking about, just trying to help bounce ideas around.)
SamBC  [author] 21 Aug, 2013 @ 12:24pm
Hmm, that's a good point. It should work with just BNW. I'm not sure if it's possible to set an 'or' requirement, though.
Azikiel 21 Aug, 2013 @ 12:21pm
In the mod list it says it depends on G&K, I don't know if that tells you anything as a modder, but can you look into it? (b/c it should work with just BNW)
SamBC  [author] 25 Jul, 2013 @ 4:01pm
It ought to - I'm not aware of any reason it wouldn't.
kongkim 25 Jul, 2013 @ 3:24pm
Do it work with BNW?
DRen72 19 Jul, 2013 @ 9:27am
Thanks!
SamBC  [author] 19 Jul, 2013 @ 4:31am
DRen72, ForEveryone is used in the era that spying starts - the first person to reach that era gets a spy, and so does everyone else, but no more are granted for other players reaching that era. ForPlayer means that a player gains a spy when they, themselves, reach the era, and it doesn't affect any other player.
DRen72 18 Jul, 2013 @ 11:59pm
SamBC, can you help me understand the difference between "Set SpiesGrantedForEveryone" and "SpiesGrantedForPlayer" and what impact in the game the values of each plays?
SamBC  [author] 14 Jul, 2013 @ 3:49am
I haven't tested it, but there's no reason I can find that it shouldn't be compatible. Quick way to test - load it up and do a medieval start!
matt001 13 Jul, 2013 @ 4:14pm
Is this compatible with BNW?
Sol 19 Jul, 2012 @ 6:09am
This is one of the best mods for G+K, and the balance is nice - it allows weaker civs to use espionage to get tech parity instead of being 100 turns behind, and bringing the mechanic into the game earlier is a good thing.

I would like to see a classical age espionage, why wait to med era? Ah well, this mod is great and anyone who hasn't checked it out should do so.
DarkAlkaiser 27 Jun, 2012 @ 4:17pm
Love this, how bout one that you just start with spies, or one for each age.
Sol 20 Jun, 2012 @ 5:01pm
ROFL - all checks, mod is good - i hate waiting to ren for spies.
SamBC  [author] 20 Jun, 2012 @ 4:59am
Take a look at the expansion credits. All the way through.
MrJtPv 19 Jun, 2012 @ 8:03pm
Seems sketchy because it was made before yesterday
Aetran 19 Jun, 2012 @ 6:03pm
Hmmm... A little suspicous if you ask me. :P
Jvallesteruel 17 Jun, 2012 @ 2:10pm
all the mods are good to me
MasterDarkenRahl 17 Jun, 2012 @ 2:07pm
mods before the expansion comes out? thats a new one
Viperdream 15 Jun, 2012 @ 2:53am
I thought Gods and Kings wasn't released yet? How did you manage to make a mod for it?
Sol 14 Jun, 2012 @ 7:42pm
so why is this mod up if i cant even use it!?

But no worries, it is favorites and thumbs up'd - i will use it the second i can because i don't want to wait until "late game" to use espionage. I hated stalling in civ4 games just to use corporations, and i hate stalling in civ5 just to use spies at the end-game, but i suppose it was intended for games starting in that age - without an advanced start option, it makes me sick. +2 kudos to you, sir.
SamBC  [author] 14 Jun, 2012 @ 4:44pm
If you look at the tags, you'll see this is a mod for Gods and Kings
GINGERLIKE 14 Jun, 2012 @ 4:40pm
I think it's a diiferent mod
Bubble Buddy 14 Jun, 2012 @ 3:46pm
You can have spys in the Renaissance?
