You must unsubscribe from all broken mods that you find on the list.
You could also start a brand new city, but be sure to read the mods guide so you don't have this problem ever again. :) Good luck!

Hi there, it's not the map at all because it is a "vanilla" (no mods required) map. Unfortunately this happens to existing cities when you are using mods that are no longer working. You're in luck, though.

Darn, I hoped it would work. You can still see the little lights on the mountain though, right? Even though they are dark (not lit up) At worst, you can use Find It mod and place down a different light next to the lights that I placed. There are some new "spotlights" on the workshop you can try out. The lights that I used are the default yellow spotlights that come with the game.

Hope that works but there might be a mod issue here that causes the lights to not work.

They are supposed to light up on their own at night. If they do not, maybe try placing a power line near them.
I can't guarantee that will fix it, but it's worked for me before. :)

I forgot about that bug. I hope they fix it, I have gottten so used to just hitting "load game" because of it that I forgot that one :D Have fun with it!

Thanks for the swift reply MrMiyagi. It appears that it works fine if I select 'Continue Game' It loads improperly. But if I select 'Load Game' it works properly. Thanks for the tip.

Hi jz, that's really weird. It sounds like there's an issue with your game connecting with the map theme. Make sure you're still subscribed to TROPICITY DESERT and that it is still active. Check on Content Manager, Map Themes, and make sure Tropicity is activated. You have to always have Tropicity theme to keep the desert. If that doesn't work, then it's a weird mystery to me

Hi lorenenick, I'm not sure if I'll be able to get there since I have so many other maps alread in line, but there are a lot of great mapmakers in the Cities Skylines map modder reddit, and SkylinesNation group on Facebook. There are even some Thai content creators, so I am sure if you ask in there you can get one of them inspired by the idea :)

Hi TheHCgaming, I have been fiddling with Rivendell (its waterfalls are proving a challenge)... it would be a fall / autumn theme ;)... This time I want to make any future Middle Earth maps just like Tolkien's maps, so it means a big project. they're up there in the list of ideas to be sure!

Mr.Miyagi can you do a map based on places in Thailand's Krabi Province, like koh phi phi and rai leh beach.

Hi TheHCgaming, thanks, I've gotten lots of inspiration, tips and tools from other players - it's been fun to try out the ideas they've passed on. Lol I cringe when looking back at some of the older maps I have thought about doing a remake or two. A good number of them are unfortunately broken for me in terms of being able to send out an update. Talk about frustration.
I am going to remake New Caledonia, at the same time as releasing the real life map of NC's tropical capital Noumea. Previews of Noumea and the city I'm in the middle of making are in my public screenshots.

Wow, you just keep getting better and better. Have you looked at any your old island maps since making this? It's just outstanding to see your progression as a creator

NWG.Slum all you need to do is subscribe to Tropicity Desert on the right of this page. It is one of the items listed on the right of this page and makes your map look correct..
