Also, the starting square is nowhere near the freeway, effectively disallowing me from using the map as people can't move in without an outside connection... Unless there is a game feature that I've missed in the time since I last played the game...

Having a problem, the map shows up as New Map when creating a new city, and the theme as New Theme. Any tips?
