Well you cant choose different parts of the model to paint them separately, maybe there is some tool that can do that but i don't know.

or that painting is different in gmod and not done in the same way...

It was made for SFM you can paint it there, i guess you cant do that in gmod.

I'm not sure, I tried both the TF2 Paint Tool and the normal tool and it just gives a different coat of colour in both instances, nothing like the gif.
Is there a specific kind of colouring or is it unintentionally misleading?
