Hi everybody! I made the 'IOM SciFi Thrusters', but you must have the dlc for it to work(no models in file] its not complete. missing icons and maybe change the construction component used to make them, please let me hear what you think :D

@TuxHomer, those new ion thrusters looks NICE , I can try get the models but i dont know if it gonna work since its an dlc. I will post message when i get time :D

I've noticed the same thing as Schef. In large grid, the Level 1 large thruster gets the same thrust as the small. It makes for a huge gap between levels 1 and 2. Can you please look into that?

Yes, higher level thruster use more power, but only 50% compared to vanilla ion thruster.
Eks Level3=10x power usage compared to vanilla ion thrusters, but divided by 2 :D

Question: You state that all thrusters use 50% less power than Atmos Thrusters.

Does this mean they all use same power usage ragardless of level or do the higher level thrusters use more power?

Great mod - thank you! I noticed a possible bug: Both Level 1 IOM Thruster and Level 1 Large IOM Thruster have the same Max Thrust Value: 1.94 MN. Or is it just the Terminal Display value which is incorrect for the large thruster?

I finally got around to update the mod. I reworked ALL the coding. And i think the thrusters still are pretty powerful :D

Working on an update now. Seems like they have changed thruster force or planet gravity force.
New update will be based on atmos thruster force and power consumption.
New levels will be
Level 1 3x atmos force
Level 2 7x atmos force
Level 3 10x atmos force

Looks like the thrusters work as they should @Blackychan and @W. Wolfe. You got any problems with the mod now? I tested it in singleplayer and it worked :D

Oh :( i havent tested it in a while, too much to do. If anyone have a fix just send it to me. I will take a look at it when i got some time

I bvelieve this mod has become degraded after the update, they will not fire.

I don't even care that these are vanilla models, I have been using these since a few months after they came out and replaced pretty much replace even the fancy ones in blueprints i try out with these. Awesome work.

EDIT: Its only with small thrusters, using large ones on small ship seem to fix that for some reason, but small ones push against it

Level 1 IOM thruster pushes you down to gravity centre of the planet if you try descending off it, like if i press Space while ships straight, the bottom thrusters work BUT they push towards opposite direction they are supposed to

Don't see the blocks for this mod, am I missing something?

@Smorton You're Welcome, I only happened accross that mod because I was Seeking that type of functionality after failing miserably with the Vanilla thrust physics (I wanted to do emergency rolls n such) so i'm no expert. Glad I could help tho. :D

@Bionic Vanila game code doesn't provide thrust to one "side" or another if they are facing the same direction for example \/______/\ does not make the ship spin, it just applies the force equally as if it looked like ____\//\____. There is a mod that allows for the type of behavior you speak of (Directional thrust I THINK is the name Realistic Thrust - Offset Forces, if this mod is enabled it will act as if thrust is applied per location rather than Per physical plane. Maybe check to see if that mod is installed? And if so, try removing it and see if that fixes it.

Nice. Before, anything I accidentally cut loose while modifying my ship clanged and banged around endlessly.

Now it blows the hell up, or clips out the back. Luckily I use Cython's energy shield mod too. lol

Nice and small mod, really good addition, because the vanilla thrusters really annoy me, due to the fact that only hydrogen allow you to switch between atmosphere and space.

Same size as original ones, too much work to make my own models :(

their are already good mods like thes, i only hoped these ones where bigger then the normal size
