If you're able to adjust this mod to AE by yourself, feel free to publish it, you've got my blessing ;)
As for the nicknames, I see a couple of problems. First, Iranians and Armenians use a lot "from city-name" nicknames. I picked city names according to the Sassanian era, so they can be a little bit anachronic in AE. Also, the desert factions nicknames, they have kinda emphasis on the religious sphere, it's also can be unsuitable sometimes (however, I didn't use any names of specific gods, so there will be no horrible misfit).

@true.tryggvi, Yes it does have different culture groups. I was hoping to be able to switch over culture groups from your mod into AE. I will try to sort it when I have time and report back. this mod is awesome BTW, congrats for making such a much-needed mod. The names are really good and I have not seen any weird names that do not fit. In my campaign now I have a family tree of 6 adult males and 4 of them have the exact same name. It sucks!

@Hwithyll, I don't know for sure, but I think it's incompatible with the AE, as it has an entirely different setting and (probably) different culture groups.

Hi. I am having trouble getting this to work with ancient empires mod. Is there a specific load order or is it possible to use pack manager and winmerge to fix this?

The mod is updated
- the Desert and Iranian Nicknames are added
- a little vanilla bugfix: Roman women had inappropriate clan names (they can have only forenames and family names)
- compatible with Avetis's Armenia mod.

@ true.tryggvi -- I'm playing Grand Campaign and find none of the "eastern" factions like Sassanids, Himyar, Parthia, Mazun, Axum have your " muslim " names. It seems a problem whether I"m playing with them or they're AI controlled . Is this expected, given they weren't actually Muslims at the time ???

Thanks again. 1 other thing - the barabarians and nomads names work perfectly but Muslim factions not at all in my current game. I'm don't think I've and conflicting mods running. Any ideas ?

@*****_71, each name for each culture must have its unique ID. The details of culture/gender/name type are specified it in the names_table. After that, attach the name itself (I mean, the text) to that ID in the names.loc. The exact ID of the culture you can find in the Assembly Kit. Anyway, it will be better for you if you look at the "names" table in the AKit at first.

Than ks again for thsi nice mod. I've looked to see if I could add the romans to the text db list to add some nicknames to them too but cant work out where you got the files. Was it from the main data.pack ?

Can I use in my medieval mod, I will edit many of the actual bynames to fit period and circumstances butI want to use the same data so I just have to change some text tables. You can be part of the team:

@[NoLi] the_real_weed, ah, the inheritance, right? Unfortunately, I haven't found such mechanics in the DB. There different columns (clan_name, family_name) but they concern only the name order andother minor aspects. So I don't know whether it's possible or not.

Well, the roman factions have surnames at the beginning it´s "Flavius" + First Name. Later in the game the names are choosen randomly (sometimes u get also a flavius name back). I remember that i have seen that there are different "tabs" in the Data like "surname" "famliy name" etc. Maybe it would be possible to mod that the family name of your children is the same like the name of their father. i am not good at modding at TW so i always hope that sb can make a mod for that. Or knows if that is at least possible :)
