That recoil is nasty

You're a Finn, I presume. Why not do the Rk 95 (7.62mm version for AK; 5.56mm version for M16/SCAR) since that is the FDF's current service rifle?

Makes sense. Stabilize or not, the reload is way too smooth right now, defying any physics. But I know you'll get it right.
Tööttieläin  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 11:14am
@ Alex_D_Vasilkov: I based the animations to local military doctrine (at least it was around 2013 - 2014). To put it short: You'd put stock under your arm to stabilize the weapon when reloading, running, etc.

That being said, I've being tweaking the animations more (I actually updated the animations once already), but won't probably be updating them before I'm really satisfied with the result.
Alex_D #NoWar 10 Dec, 2017 @ 9:15am
When you detach the magazine you normally press a somewhat strong spring-loaded mag catch lever, while pulling the magazine downwards and the rifle itself upwards. After they disconnect, the parts sort of continue moving in the opposite directions for a few moments because you didn't yet stop pulling them.

Similar things happen on mag-in: you rock the magazine into the mag well, your hand still goes the "braking distance" by trying to move the mag even further, causing the rifle to travel some distance as well.

Same for pulling the bolt. Even when you pull the bolt to the very end, you still keep pulling it even further, just to make sure. When you release it, it quickly slams back to the front, transferring some of its kinetic energy to the whole rifle, sorta making 'er jump forward.

Well, if we go all the way back to the StG anims this model initially used, yes, this is an obvious improvement, seen in all of your recent animations. Still, there seems to be little to no interaction between the gun and the mag on reload. It isn't BAD, mind you, it just lacks energy.
Tööttieläin  [author] 10 Dec, 2017 @ 6:43am
@ Alex_D_Vasilkov: I've probably forgot to add it in any collection.

I kinda see what you mean about the animation (especially the firing anim, reload IMO isn't that bad), but then again it is still pretty big improvement when compared to the old anims.

I agree with the previous commenter on all accounts: the model/textures are vastly improved, while the animation doesn't quite live up to it.

Also, this seems the be the only submission not featured in any of your collections, unlike the M16 version.

Cool model and suomi perkele!
But the shooting animation is wonky and the reload-animation lacks weight.

Pistä privana viestiä jos haluat tehdä yhteistyötä sen suhteen että saataisiin sun aseisiin myös AAA-laadun animaatiota :D
Tööttieläin  [author] 21 Sep, 2017 @ 3:25pm
@ Alex_D_Vasilkov: Yeah, should have guessed that it's either early production or prototype.

I somehow totally missed your follow up comment and only noticed it now.

I like how the "408" looks like. Pretty futuristic for something developed in 40s. If/when I at some point continue my cyberpunk themed mods, that one would fit in pretty well (regardless of its age).
Alex_D #NoWar 21 Sep, 2017 @ 1:35pm
The first one is a real, actual "AK-47". This is the name of the prototype. The first production version of the gun was adopted in 1949 as "AK", omitting the year. This is practically the "Beam me up, Scotty!" (or "Luke, I am your father") misquotation made FIREARM.

The second is a TKB-408, also known as "Korobov's avtomat". It was developed and tested for the same contest as the AK in 1946. No points for guessing who won.

The third, also the child of Korobov, is the TKB-022. This thing appeared way before its time, in the 60s, and was never produced.
Tööttieläin  [author] 21 Sep, 2017 @ 10:38am
@ Alex_D_Vasilkov: What is that? AK (or it's variant) obviously, but I don't recognise the model.
Alex_D #NoWar 21 Sep, 2017 @ 10:23am
Hey, good master, do you think this is worth your attention?

Kiitos! Laitoin viestiä eteenpäin! ^_^

[FoxHound] Sonic 9 Jan, 2017 @ 5:21am
Hei Ihan mahtavaa saada RK zombien lahtaukseen! tätä on kaivattu!

this looks like a hybrid between the AK-74 and the MP5

@ Wildcards: ps. 3rd person model doesn't have flashlight for polycount reasons.
Tööttieläin  [author] 31 Oct, 2016 @ 5:41pm
@ Wildcards: I forgot to include flashlight when I rendered the profile image for the addon.
The game model actually has flashlight attached. Front handguard is kind of hiding it. You can see it during reload animation.

Glad you like the mod :)
Wildcards 31 Oct, 2016 @ 3:41pm
I just used it for the first time after downloading and I loved every bit of it.

Just curious, would you be able to add the flaslight to the w model?
Kat Maid Sama 30 Oct, 2016 @ 7:00pm
needs better animations
otherwise an excellent and unique mod
Tööttieläin  [author] 20 Oct, 2016 @ 5:31am
@ Rymd: Stg44 was textured using same method as this one.
Tööttieläin  [author] 20 Oct, 2016 @ 5:00am
@ Rymd: I did make them myself. Textures are actually sort of handpainted. Only texture baking done was for diffuse texture, which was then modified with Blender's texturepaint mode, so I doubt you will find them any interesting. On the off chance you do, I think I had WIP picture in my Stg44 mods screenshots.
Rymd 20 Oct, 2016 @ 4:45am
Did you model and textured this yourself ? would love to see bakes

@ Unt3RdRück3R: Not really. I don't have Youtube account and I wasn't planning to sign up to Google just for my modding.

Tööttieläin can you make a FG42 to replace huntingrifle?
Unt3RdRück3R 19 Oct, 2016 @ 2:19am
Can you add video demonstration of this addon?
AttackCommander 18 Oct, 2016 @ 6:37pm
Always happy to see you post a new weapon onto the workshop as I'll always know it'll be interesting and great quality! Keep up the good work! :happyrandy:
TheEndangeredCarmine 18 Oct, 2016 @ 11:23am
@Tööttieläin Kind of but they are a few differences like how some have the C79 scope and that it's a improved version of the m16 with some small differences like most of the rifles that I'm seeing have so I guess but from what I've heard it's used by a decent ammount of countries like Great Britain,Denmark,Iceland, the Netherlands and Norway though I guess your kind of right that it is very simular to the M16 but IT'S CANADIAN EH! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Aww well puns aside now that I think about it I guess a lee enfield would be a more reasonable weapon as it's still being used around the world despite being made in the late 1800's I'm just really happy to see the Finnish version of the AK is out on the mod shop finally I heard the Finn's were good at taking Russian weapons and improving them like with the Mosin Nagant and the famous AK-47.

@ KrisToast: :D
Tööttieläin  [author] 18 Oct, 2016 @ 10:41am
@ 🍁 Major Kitty 🍁: Isn't C7 a Canadian built m16 (or am I mistaken)? If that's the case, default assault rifle is pretty much the same gun.
TheEndangeredCarmine 18 Oct, 2016 @ 10:09am
Your moi hero <3
I wonder if well see some Canadian stuff like the C7 rifles. C:

Tööttieläin  [author] 18 Oct, 2016 @ 2:20am
@ Wildcards: I doubt it. Not anytime soon at least, the differences are so minor.
