Honestly, this map is so simple in its design, and yet so well done. Feels very good to play in it, the spawns are done right, it's a blast to be in.
The only downside is there's so many ammo crates and armor that there's no much challenge in terms of using your ammo efficiently, but it's a damn fun and good map regardless. Easily one of the better custom maps out there, at least for solo.

Great map! The size difference from RE4 bothered me at first but I quickly forgot about it by wave 2 with how much fun I was having.

that was the first request i had in mind, the castle segment. but i refrained from asking specific maps because that wouldve sound douchey. if you're ever gonna do the castle thing, what worries me is the upper part where you rotate a crank to get the cannon to shoot the big gate. if you walk up there, you deny yourself kite space to fight. highly curious how you will make that work.

I'm not sure if I'll be making another RE4 maps in near future at the moment.
Personally want to make the first part of catsle where ganados try to kill you using flaming trebuchets though.

map makes me feel right at home. it plays well on solo HoE. i like how the first wave starts at the bridge like in resi 4. music near merchant is good too. good call on increasing the map size. can i expect more resi 4 port maps from you?

You should make it so zeds can come through the windows and you can "board them up" (or in this case weld them shut) so it's closer to RE4. The map Kholnee did something like that for a reference.

I didn't browsed all the comments so just saying, I don't know how it' worsk wit UE4..., but players and zeds are undersized compared to the map, need "realistic" size of the map or players and AIs' models.

I don't give a rats-ass about "workshop auto updates", so it doesn't matter to me if the name stays the same or changes... :steammocking:

I disagree. To push updates to servers automatically, you should keep the files the same. Server operators only need to restart the server, not go in and change all of the map cycles.

Indeed, to avoid version error, logically it should have been named "RE4-cabin-fix" or other. Will be for the next release ;)

When you update your maps You should also rename file names too. Sometimes subscribed maps doesn't automatically update on Dedicated server and when you entering server KF2 displays version mismatch error.

Thanks for the support! Ill add it back into the playlist and let you know. Just to put your mind at ease... There are several maps where this happens. BUT it is not by all means a universal thing that happens. So a lot of maps are affected, but definitely not all. :D

Uploaded a new version.
Hopfully it will fix the lagging issue on large servers.

I reduced cooldown time for some spawns.

I think it may be due to when there is more people on the server, they are supposed to spawn faster. and the spawns are too close to each other, or there isnt enough of them for the zeds to spawn in from. ill try to get you some more info when i can.

After some googling.It seems that the lag is caused by Spawn Locations being too close to each other.
(The neon cube defense map had two spawn volumes at the exact same location.)
I'm not sure why it only happens when there are many people on the server though...

Maybe It can possibly happen on some official maps?

I'll tweak the spawners a little bit and update the map soon.

Keep in mind that its spamming the server console, which proceeds to lag the server. usually people have 50ping, and this causes it to sky rocket to 400+

It appears that several maps have an error related to this:

This is from a different map, but reason appears to be the same.

I can get you one for your map so that hopefully you can located where it is happening.

This was happening on the neon cube defense map.

There is a zed spawning error that is causing lag issues. I have observed this in the server console

Hmm I didn't notice that much lag when I had a chance to play this map on a large server(ranked).
not full 30 people though.
Does the lag start as soon as the level is loaded?
I'm aware of the lagging issue that happens when a zed gets stuck between objects.
But anyway I'll try to fix the performance.

Hello we like your map but beyond 6 players we have a lot of lagg. A friend who knows the sdk told me this.

05:29 - xxxxx*: i had a look at the cabim map its his geomentry :(
05:29 - xxxxx*: it the way he imported it into the map
05:29 - xxxxx*: when he did the models
05:29 - xxxxx*: he hasnt draw culled them
05:30 - xxxxx*: the original assets he has have to be redone in 3d modelling again
05:30 - xxxxx*: thats why it laggs over the net,with many players
05:30 - xxxxx*: solo is great
05:30 - xxxxx*: 6 players is good
05:31 - xxxxx*: but many many players makes lagg yes

You can improve the map for a 30 player server ?
