How come then that when I disabled the theme and the game loaded with the default theme, it was grass around the stuff? More importantly though is the water level in the rivers, what happened?
OWL  [ophavsmand] 2. sep. 2017 kl. 23:46
Angel heart complain to the developers about gravel surface farms. Theme only changes textures, not which building type will use which texture. you can use "no radioactive desert" mod to disable ruined texture or you can simply change the theme into another temperate map theme
Angelhearth 2. sep. 2017 kl. 21:00
Yeah, it was the theme. Trashed it, no way I want anything like that. Will have to redo some stuff to make the map look good again, but seriously, does the farms in Greece and Turkey have gravel where the rest of the world has grass (ie farmland)? I noticed @BonBonB talked about the islands in the river and had a look. I'm a little bit confused about what you were thinking. I tried lowering the water level, but then the river will dry out.

When I build Two Lange Gravel Roads and place something next to it, the ground becomes some insane type of gravel. Is this something in the map or the theme? Looks horrible if you try to make a farm. .'(

This looks kind of like the area around Oroville, CA. Cool!

@Owl - Thanks for watching, and yes, so far so good. If you wanted to check out my other reviews of your maps (to date), then part 1 features Los Demonios ( https://youtu.be/9fbTX1nwpuA ), and part 21 features Shaareki ( https://youtu.be/jgnutKM4xwQ ). Los Demonios also features in Best Of What Map Part 01 ( https://youtu.be/e1RonKR9etU ) which compares show winners, and picks a champion of champions, so to speak.

@OWL something in the 1.6 update broke your nice fancy 3D/parallax rocks in your map theme: http://i.imgur.com/4pss1cn.jpg http://i.imgur.com/In3dxCN.jpg

Man ofcourse there is no one way ringroad. But hello... its the map editor:D
Alric Miraborg 7. nov. 2016 kl. 18:30
By game mechanics the round abouts are impractical at first. Lost count of how many times my power plants were half or completely out of resources due to highway back up. Otherwise beatiful map, I'm gradually adjusting the highway as I expand.
Pezz 7. nov. 2016 kl. 18:14
Oh, as a quick addition for @comatosedragon, make sure to check out Germany's road systems, the unique style of the German Autobahns translates very well into C:SL and they're arguably the most well-conceived roads in Europe which makes for solid inspiration.
Pezz 7. nov. 2016 kl. 18:09
Absolutely gorgeous map, but I am also... mildly frustrated by the ring road? The thing that I guess "bothers" me the most (and it's not a huge bother) are the roundabouts. They seem to have a tendency towards causing pile-ups, I feel they're too small by default (I've used revised 7x7 ones that better resemble the size we'd use for arterial roads here in the UK, and they seem to help a bit, though that's C:SL in general; In-game roundabouts simply don't work as well as their real world equivalents imo).

I will also probably be replacing the ringroad itself with a two-way design, as I personally have never seen a one-way ringroad (our ringroads here in the aforementioned UK are either two-way Motorways or Dual Carriageways (2 x 2-lane)), and I personally, and I must stress, personally, find the starting setup a little more pain to work with than I'd like.

Once you get underway and make the changes you need however, it's a wonderful map, and I would still recommend it :>
comatosedragon 5. nov. 2016 kl. 13:09
hey owl, thanks for that!

I was kind of like a fish looking at a bicycle, if you know what I mean . . . .

I'm not going to destroy those, I just didn't know where to start -- I'll hit youtube for some inspiration on European cities. Thanks!
OWL  [ophavsmand] 5. nov. 2016 kl. 13:07
I assume you are an American comatose :) At the most places in europe, highways don't cut the city through. They surround the city and directly connect to the "ring roads" to distribute cars into city with "less" intersections. meaning less trafic congestion. you can choose to destroy those roundabouts and draw roads directly from the ringroad or draw into from roundabouts. also you can upgrade that ringroad to a two directional road. cheers.

This is an amazingly beautiful map.

I really want to like it . . . . .

I guess maybe I need to see a picture or video of someone else using this city, because I have no idea what to do with the one way road running through the starting title (around the whole map actualy) I'm a little confused. I guess if one were playing with the unlimited money and/or everything unlocked mods, there would be more options, but I don't like using those mods.

Seriously, what am I to do with a one way road going through the tile, and the highway connection several tiles away?

Like I say, I want to like this map, I just don't understand how to use it.
K666 4. nov. 2016 kl. 23:03
Wow, this is very beautiful! And one thing i noticed: Just like me, you seem to put a great emphasis on keeping the road and rail geometry realistic. I find it very annoying, when you see otherwise an extremely beautiful and epic map that has some railways with 45 degree slopes. Keep up the good work!
