Actually, the map Valenciennes is based on this one, and this map is based on the city of Metz, where in WWII, an actual battle happened. :lunar2019piginablanket:

This map is acctualy Vallencines, but in WWII, acctualy seems realistic, its as if this city also saw action in WWII, which it surely did.

Love this map , would love to see it in action, if you can drum up the courage to have a look again. One of our clan mappers should be able to help you out as they've 'fixed' their maps after all the updates. It's unlikely we're getting more major updates so it should be a last ditch effort :)

This might be old new but.... I'm glad you allowed this map to be re-lived in WW1 setting.... Can wait to shoot some germans on these streets again :P

I live in Yutz at only 30km of Metz,and your map got the perfect architecture of the city,GG and we really see the Moselle who past in Metz

Oh, I didn't know it was based off an American engagement. Nevermind. I was suggesting it because there's a huge imbalance when it comes to the US/UK maps, so having more UK maps would be nice.

I actually want to stick to historical accuracy, since the Battle of Metz happened between Axis and US. Any particular reason for suggesting this, or just preference? ;)

Hey everyone!

Thank you so much for your feedback! It's very helpful to hear all your opinions. I very recently updated the approach to Objective A. There is more cover now, but smoke grenades are still almost indispensable. I want players to use all their tools to their disposal!

Objective C also got a little rework. There are a few more possibilities for Axis to defend the small bridge, as well as to rotate safely towards the objective. I've got some more ideas for the final release and hope you will like them ;)

We loaded it up and it's running on our server first time round the allies never capped a single point we swapped teams and managed to get all the way through except the church.... I loved it... It was hard work and like the best maps took a while to work out how to play it but was definitely worth the effort. Best of luck in the competition it's in our server rotation thanks for the hard work and sorry it took so long to get a report , so many naps so little time lol...

Easily one of the best maps so far! I've struggled a few times at A as the Americans but I've also been locked down by Germans with MGs and unable to leave spawn. I think adding a little more cover for both sides at A would be a good idea, maybe like a Flak 88 position with some sandbags and ammo boxes, could have knocked out a Sherman on the American's left flank. Ultimately it would serve both sides, a front for Americans and a buffer for the Germans. Also wouldn't mind a kubelwagen (or something of the sort) at the intersection behind the A building, the Germans really don't have any cover crossing the road as they leave spawn. I felt that a similar issue occurs at C as the Germans cross out into the open to enter the church, by the Tiger tank. A team of bazookas and 30.cals can tear them to shreads, happened a number of times during games. Perhaps another underground route to meet the one the Americans get? Could serve as a quick way to get guys in more dangerous areas.

Hey poLemin. Good job with this map, dude. I love it! Two things though: The sky is bugged at the bridge near the church. It flickers to black.
The Americans can block the German their spawn at this capture point too. I was able to farm a bunch of kills as an American. You should have a look at it. The Americans bring some artillery and the game is over.

Also: [A] is a a bit easy to capture too. A few smokes and some artillery and the point is captured. You could bring the Germans their spawn a bit closer maybe? (Didn't play as the Wehrmacht yet, so I have no clue)

Germans desperately some more cover to defend with. It's insanely easy to push objectives, as well as the flamer being able to camp our spawn. Map has promise for sure though.

And C (church) objective needs to be bigger, so you can capture it while sitting anywhere inside (exept for roof)

very cool map, its very similar to The upcoming official dev map "Astonia". But its a bit better.
Few problems I encoutered that the skybox seems to be bugged out since it changes from red-sh to cloudy all the time:
