I look forward to downloading the new version!

I have managed to create a proof of concept & bug free gun mod that works with Build 41. I am now working to create new mods that will have more features. I will work on releasing them as soon as possible.
VelxraTV 18 Mar, 2020 @ 1:45pm
sounds good, happy to hear things are still under way.
Blackbeard  [author] 18 Mar, 2020 @ 12:58pm
I've been working on it from time to time. I had it working for a little before another update broke the mod. I'm afraid that until build 41 is done I won't be able to release a stable update with new features for the MRE mod. It will happen, just waiting on the PZ Devs to work their magic. In the meantime there are a few things I can do now to release this mod sooner, so that is my current work load at the moment.
VelxraTV 17 Mar, 2020 @ 11:37pm
any word on an update?
olddeadman 3 Feb, 2020 @ 9:03pm
I love MRE and will happy to have one in PZ world. Still wait for B.41.
xXBulletJusticeXx 20 Oct, 2019 @ 8:41pm
Oooo new features!
Blackbeard  [author] 20 Oct, 2019 @ 6:35pm
BUILD 41 UPDATE: Currently this mod will not work will IWBMS build 41. I will be working on getting this to work by the time build 41 is pushed to the main public build. Since Project Zomboid has released a massive update I plan to update this mod with new features. Stay tuned for updates.

Good job with the mod Blackbeard keep up the good work :D :griefer:
TheDerpyPickle 31 Mar, 2019 @ 12:27pm
Very nice. Very little military / enforcement presence is in the game as of now. Mods like these are great to make this feel a little more lifelike... in a game of death that is.
Blackbeard  [author] 24 Dec, 2018 @ 2:37pm
thanks!
maru 24 Dec, 2018 @ 1:16pm
Nice!
Blackbeard  [author] 2 Nov, 2018 @ 2:19pm
yea, what I thought as well. I only kept it there since some lockers where in important areas of some of my custom maps.
Teirdalin 2 Nov, 2018 @ 10:47am
Thanks Blackbeard, just felt; odd finding so many MREs in the school. lol
Blackbeard  [author] 2 Nov, 2018 @ 5:46am
ok, thanks. I will take care of the locker loot.
Teirdalin 2 Nov, 2018 @ 12:49am
So found a bit of an issue with it over at the Rosewood Elementary School.
Apparently the school children were addicted to MREs, you can find a few in every locker there
Running it on standard weeks after first infection with default settings.
Slutski 30 Oct, 2018 @ 9:48am
It's a nice coffee we have there.
Helsie 17 Oct, 2018 @ 9:19am
Nice hiss.
Slok 3 Oct, 2018 @ 11:21am
Nice! Let's get this out onto a tray.
Blackbeard  [author] 1 Oct, 2018 @ 8:43am
is the loot rarity set to abundant? If your at normal, it shouldn't be everywhere.
Oslepen 13 Jun, 2018 @ 5:35am
Good mod, but it's to many MRE's in game world, too easy.
Starfoth The Burgundy Silk Rug 1 May, 2018 @ 12:11pm
Same as bullet justice. MREs can be pretty good depending on what MREs you eat and who makes them.
xXBulletJusticeXx 1 May, 2018 @ 12:05pm
I've gone 6 months eating nothing but MRE and TOTEMs, never blinked. They really are not that bad.. except for the ones that have eggs (breakfast omelet was the worst!).
Weol 30 Apr, 2018 @ 6:35pm
These should be more realistic, +5 unhappiness every MRE. They are tolerable once in a while.... but if its all your eating you might just choke someone... esp true for 90's MRE's
Justryan16 7 Oct, 2017 @ 5:36pm
I'm pretty new, so what map is this on?, also, Maybe add a feature to add water? so +2-4 Thirst?
Varenvel The Festive Dinosaur 22 Sep, 2017 @ 2:39pm
minus unhappyness? , have you ate american MRE?:O
xXBulletJusticeXx 6 Aug, 2017 @ 9:15pm
Noooooo! all my MRE's!! :P

J/K, nice catch though!
Blackbeard  [author] 6 Aug, 2017 @ 8:08am
thanks for the heads up. I'll take a look into it. It shouldn't be doing that.
meiquisition 6 Aug, 2017 @ 12:21am
in the school located in west point there're 2 MREs in each locker. idk if this is a bug or smth but it changes the game balance i mean it breaks it. if u have oportunity to go to the school so u have like 50-80 MREs. i don't abuse it and leave MREs in the lockers. btw ty for the mod i rly enjoy it <3
xXBulletJusticeXx 3 Jul, 2017 @ 6:30am
People, you fail to read the most important part of the sentance from "A single MRE can feed a fully grown male for 1 day. "

It really CAN feed a full grown man all day long. Super active military personel out in the field, no. A regular citizen that really doesnt go out and do much in the day, yes.

It's all about how many calories you burn, vs. intake.
Rob 2 Jul, 2017 @ 7:27pm
One MRE a day? Lad, we eat three a day
BloodyAstartes 29 Jun, 2017 @ 1:58pm
One day? Bruh I would eat four of your cheeseburger rats in a day. I still crave the jalapeño cheese. Canadian rats were different. I tried to just die instead of eating them. Didn't work.
Blackbeard  [author] 12 May, 2017 @ 4:43pm
I'm not sure. The only thing I can think of is something server side. Did you verify if the mod was on in the server?
DrBlockGenius 10 May, 2017 @ 5:06pm
hey guys, pls someone, i have the mod isntalled, but after my last restart all of the MREs are gone and the mod dont load i think, any advice? Playin with my modded server
xXBulletJusticeXx 1 May, 2017 @ 6:40pm
@Mi estas latondro - This is why there are options in game to not eat an entire pack of food at one sitting ;)
Blackbeard  [author] 1 May, 2017 @ 4:01pm
@Vince Yea, I'll add it.
Browning 1 May, 2017 @ 3:11pm
@Mi Estas la tondro.. Typical MRE's have 3000 calories. They are intended to feed highly active soldiers for an entire day. Reference - 6 Years of Active Army Experience + combat tours
Browning 1 May, 2017 @ 3:08pm
Mod ID (as in the URL) - 798778946
Mod Name - MRE

Would it be possible to put this in the description Author? It helps server admins get the info quickly. Just a humble ask. Not really looking for flack. If not then... such is life. lulz XD
Kickdok 1 May, 2017 @ 8:40am
it has so many calories it makes my guy obese :p.
xXBulletJusticeXx 29 Mar, 2017 @ 7:43pm
That would be rad. Always looking for ways to squeeze more room out of my packs :D
Blackbeard  [author] 29 Mar, 2017 @ 1:28pm
@xxbulletjusticexx That is a good idea, I can do that. I am currently working on a bunch of projects at the moment, but will get on it asap!
xXBulletJusticeXx 29 Mar, 2017 @ 1:36am
@Blackbeard: regarding Alderin's comment, there IS another mod that does exactly that. It is very annoying as you have to micromanage the packages. I do not recommend it, as you then have super small containers with little bits of food in them which you have to take apart then deal with all the trash.

However. With that said. I would love to see the ability to 'field strip' the MRE's. You find a full packed MRE in the world. Then have an option to field strip it which reduces the happiness level a bit (because when you field strip an MRE you only take the necessities and leave behind the juices/coffe/gum packs etc). In return, you could then reduce the weight. Field stripping an entire box of MRE's can halve, if not more, the weight/bulk of supplies for a march/operation. I would not see why we can't do it for PZ.
H1tSc4n 29 Mar, 2017 @ 1:25am
The mod is still conflicting with ORGM, it seems. When MRE is enabled, ORGMs stop spawning. At all.
Blackbeard  [author] 28 Mar, 2017 @ 7:37pm
@alderin I believe someone made a mod similar to what you are describing, I cannot remember who did it.
KingLudwig 28 Mar, 2017 @ 7:32pm
Idk if someone has already said this, so forgive me if they have, but maybe it would be a cool idea to make the MRE like a medkit that contains unperishable foods you could add. An example would be like every MRE has peanuts, drink powders that can be combined with water to reduce unhappiness/stress and add calories, tissues (napkins), and energy bars or something with a random main meat or two or three to last the whole day. The idea being that the player can take a few MREs and make a journey to another town with it instead of hauling tons of canned food.

You're thinking of the no longer produced RCW (Ratioin Cold Weather). This was the go to for Spec Ops teams out on missions for the high calorie count per pouch. One of those is good for a day's worth of calories.
"Each menu provides approximately 4500 kilocalories (8% protein, 32% fat, and 60% carbohydrate)."

I get what you mean, finished my IT degree last year and life sucked, had no time to do anything..
