So on Immortal/Deity the AI starts with 2 warriors and 1 Scout. Does this mod change both warriors to Scouts? In the description it states that it changes AI"s starting warrior (singular) so was just curious

yeah, i know that. I was playing with mods all the time back in the days. But now i guess civ have a problem with them. Or i'm doing something wrong, don't know

Make sure you start your new game from the MOD menu and not from the singleplayer menu.

Doesn't work for me. Any ideas? It is turned on, and i can see the mod in the mods list in the gaming process in ESC menu, but i'm always starting with warrior

Currently im just supporting those 40 mods (see the link to other collections in the bottom of the list i provided) but i am not producing new ones.

As you can see these mods are 7-8 years old and i have been supporting them since 2012 fixing bugs, answering question and even translated some to russian or italian with the help of users.

This have been a really nice experience and a lot of work. Supporting them have become a lot easier since tons of users have playtested them and the game is now pretty stable and im satisfied with this final product.

But you know what, these projects started exactly with the same motivation that you have right now: Ideas!

And nothing have been more gratifying than implementing those ideas myself. So i would advise you to take the modding tutorial (its not that hard at all) and dive in!

Would you also consider having an upgrade pathway for scouts? They're useless in combat and have nowhere to go once exploration is complete.

If you're open to ideas, I suggest this tech pathway:

Scout (Ancient)
Slinger (Classical)
Ranger (Medieval)
Skirmisher (Renaissance)
Light Infantry (Industrial)
Paratrooper (Modern)
LRRP (Atomic)

SilentForza's Antarctica (Roald Amundsen) adds a civilization to the game with the unique unit Dogsleg, a replacement for the scout. Thanks to this mod I should start the game with the dogsleg, but I don't. I start without any unit. Is this a issue with this mod or the civ mod?

It was not intentional, but if you use only this mod its no problem, cause the only effect is the scout.

And no congrats please for finishing a game in one sit, it was 1vs1 on the easiest difficulty - just for the achievement^^ Yes I know that makes no sense :D

If you load your game from the MOD menu all your mod will still work.

If you load a modded game from the single player menu, it will break all mod effect (wich can corrupt your save) but yes acheivement would become unlocked. So its at your own risk1

But the difference is important, i often answered to people whos problem was that they lost the mod effect after loading their game. Thats was always the cause (Loading from the wrong menu)

In any case congrats on finishing a game in one sitting! its a rare feat in CIV 5 XD

Oh yeah, thats the point - yesterday was the first time i did it in one strike cause game ended so fast. So starting with the mod and then loadings breaks the system, causo you dont loose your scout.

From what i know, you cant get any acheivement if you have a mod activated. The moment you start or load a game from the MOD menu, acheivement are disabled by Civ 5.

What you did was probably load a Modded game from the singleplayer menu instead of the mod menu, thus disabling mod temporarly without being aware of it (some mod effect would still be visible) and got an acheivement.

If acheivement are important to you, you can only do them in vanilla game, unless they updated this.

I am confused: I got some achievements with this mod, but today i started a new game and didnt got them - I got the difficult 7 achievement with it, why not difficult 1? Its very important for my life to get this, lol :D :D :D Was something changed?

If you set the AI to a higher difficulty they will get bonus units at the start of the game

For some reason the AI spawn with both a scout and a warrior, any idea why this would be happening?

Im glad it works! since you seemed realle motivated in trying those mods, of course i wanted to help you, i was sure it was a little mistake like this, the mod / game interface of civ 5 isnt that intuitive.

I did check the tutorial and troubleshooting. and I feel silly now lol. I didn't recognize the "single player" as a button after activating the mods. it is working now. I started the game from there. thanks again lol. I appreciate the help. exctited to try it out now. I see my scout troop instead of warriors now and a couple other mods. thanks so much again lol :bandit: appreciate the help

ok, well it doesn't bring me back to a place to start the game. it shows single player game set up for the mod(s) after "configuring game data"./ then the only option it shows is "back" maybe I just haven't tried clicking the top where it says single player. I appreciate the help. I will try it again, and see if I can get it to play, without eventually having to press back. thanks for the patience. I will try again now. :)

You should never click a Back bouton, that what deactivate your mods, i dont know why you have problems its pretty simple there is no loop or confusing menu:

Its MOD > NEXT > Configuring game data... please wait > SIngle Player > Start Game

When you say it shows you "single player" with a list of the selected mod, click on the "SIngle player" , its a button. no back.

do that and it will work. There is also a tutorial with screenshot in the troubleshooting section.

OK again, yes I just did for the 500th time. literally. I even just took a screen shot it's the latest on my page. I enable the mods, click next. it says "configuring game data", takes several moments, then it shows me single player game set up for then lists the mod(s). I do that every time. eventyually you have to hit the "back" button to get to the main menu to actually start the game. otherwise you are in an infinite loop of activating and configuring the game data, then showing me, the single player game is set up for the mods. I have done this many times every time, before I posted my first comment here.. Then again, not a single mod is actually working in game ever. not once. I do everything that you are supposed to and they won't work. seems others have had this same problem from what I have been reading.

Your problem is that you dont start your game from the mod menu.

Start civ 5
click the MOD button
enable the ones you want
Click the NEXT button

Ok I did all the troubleshooting, I started the game by enabling only this mod even, and tried with G&K active and BNW and also without. nothing I tried will let me start with the scout. I'm sure I'm not the only one experiencing this. Note. I don't think any mod is working. Help please. anyone else have this problem? maybe we can get a forum going if we find a solution. thanks

BlouBlou, How do you start a game from the mod menu? I have looked again and again and see no option from the mod menu to start a game at all. only to enable or disable mods. So if you wouldn't mind please explaining in more detail, perhaps I missed something, but I don't see any option relating to anything similar to starting a game from the mod menu. Never heard of that until I read your comment below. thanks :)

You're right, I forgot I downloaded a mod that changes the atlatlist (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=114965981) and now it replaces the scout. So probably it conflicts with your mod and the game resolves it by giving me the base warrior.

The mayan atlatist replace the archer not the scout. So no bug here. Anyway it work with unique scout, try the shoshone they have a unique scout, the pathfinder and it still works without problem.

Starting a game with mayans give the scout properly and everything works fines.

If you have a warrior, there is something done wrong while activating the mod or another mod you are using conflict with this one.

Did you start your game from the Mod menu ? not from the singleplayer menu. Also test the mod alone in a fresh new game.

If you have further problem try the troubleshooting section of the mod.

I noticed when using Mayan, who's unique unit is the atlatlist which replaces the scout, you are given the default warrior instead. I think it's a bug
