A mod that adjusts quest rewards would definitely conflict with PBD, and likely cause larger issues with quests down the line. DD modding is, unfortunately, not very modular when it comes to some things, and there's no merging tool. Safest thing to do if you still want to run with other mods is to drag them all below PBD, so that PBD's files overwrite those mods if needed.

i took a look and experimented a bit with different mod setups and oddly it seems to have been increased quest rewards, or my luck was exceptionally bizarre. weird that it only happened with the cove.

That definitely shouldn't be the case. Room number should vary between ~10-25 depending on length. Taking a look at the files, everything seems in order. Are any other mods being run, by chance?

heyo, i've got a quick question - i have noticed dungeon generation length seems completely unaffected by the "length" of a dungeon. like, short, medium, and long length dungeons all are about the same length, at least in the cove. is this intentional or did i break something

Some classes may break the game, if they are extensive enough, but others will just end up being underwhelming after T1 dungeons - always happy to help people with a quick mod fix!

As for the mod question, directly modifying files won't change anything in game. There would have to be a patch. I've made one for you, available here [drive.google.com]. Unpack this into your 'mods' folder and make sure to place it above the core PBD file in the load order list. If you have any issues installing it, add me on discord (maestersilvio) and I'll give you a hand with it!

Have a followup question - I tried editing quest.restriction.json so I can mix and match party members regardless of levels, but it doesn't seem to have any effect in-game. Is it set elsewhere in the mod? Thanks :)

Make sure to play in English, and don't use the mod with Crimson Court or Colours of Madness enabled.

If you're using any other mods, let me know which ones and I can tell you if they're incompatible.

If I had to give some advice, though I'd understand if you were done with the mod -- Experienced Recruits (upgrade at stagecoach) is significantly buffed in PBD. Many veterans of the mod recommend upgrading that early. Also, torches and daggers are super cheap and can be used to make considerable amounts of money from many curios. I have a public spreadsheet you can use to see all of the new curio interactions if that helps as well. Keep an eye out for "Lore-keeping" enemies as well. They'll drop one of those 20 pages that talk about new, usually lucrative, curio interactions that have been added.

Mostly you've hit upon some design challenges that I don't think were addressed properly.

Properly balancing the early-game content to be challenging at game start and when your heroes are getting ready to go from Apprentice to Veteran is something I struggled with in PBD, and something the team struggled with in the vanilla game.

Communicating curio changes is something that I don't know how to perfectly address, though there are 20 new lore pages that do delve into it, and the tutorial mentions that there are changes, teaches you some of them, and warns you that some interactions may have very nasty outcomes (like the necromancer). I use him as a bit of a tough learning experience for new players.

Enemies in the early quests are way too overtuned to be properly fought or planned around mid fight. My first 3 non tutorial quests had to be abandoned or nearly lost for this exact reason. First I encounter a collector head trio with the headhunt ability doing up to 15-17 damage on resolve level 0-1 heroes, while said enemy is guarded and healed by the other 2 heads during the battle. The very next mission I encounter a necromancer boss who got summoned after interacting with a bone pile with holy water. Now he can heal himself by consuming one of his add-ons without any real punishment to said boss because now he can summon 2 enemies with each attack. Idk if I'm just a cursed player or not but I believe that there is not enough fun to be had with strategy and planning to balance out the frustration I had with this mod.

Asking because steam says this was last updated on May this year and Nexus says October 22.

It for sure won't be compatible, sadly. However, after glancing at the files, it's possible that it will only negatively affect the visual aspects of the game, rather than causing any crashes or progression issues. Putting it below PBD, as you have done, will be the safest; good choice with that.

I want to know if this is compatible with Inventory Expansion .

I know there's text that says "ANY Inventory Mods - No" but I still hope to use it.

You could probably adjust the loot tables and sale prices. For vanilla, there aren't too many loot tables, and you could alter the frequency of drops in a few minutes.

I want to slow down the progression in first place , if its easier to increase prices for building upgrades thats a possibility too , if not then just lowering the % of all drops would be decent.
i think PBD is in a good spot drop wise for my plans

I personally lowered drop rates via an extensive loot overhaul, giving almost every enemy their own loot table. In vanilla, enemies generally pull from a generic loot table 1-2 times. In PBD, enemies have unique loot tables that often include loot relevant to the enemy type. Spiders, for example, have a decent chance to drop antivenom.

Do you want to lower drop rates even more than PBD already offers, or something else?

Im trying to setup a hard long term modlist on my own and was wondering how you lowered the droprate ? i really liked the slow progression i found less xp mods but the loot is overflowing me :D any tips would be sexy

It sounds like CC might be installed and is overwriting some of the glossary terms, unfortunately. CC and Butcher's Circus should not be installed with PBD, as they are not compatible. The patches online are likely too old to be compatible. I have official patches for the Flagellant and Districts, but not the core CC feature.

As for religious units, it'll be the same as vanilla -- Crusader, Leper, Vestal, and Flagellant.

1st timing this mod really enjoying it so far. Just some stuff is unclear for me.


The first Affix which is not listed in the Glossary is "Clandestine" anyone can answer what it does?

Where can I see if units are religious?

Second the Info says nothing about CC & The BCircus but in the Glossary there is affixes/infos about it so are they compfy with this mod?

I also found some patches for CC online not sure if they updated or outdated.
