Tweaked Staff Food

This mod, though it's old, has solved my issues. Maybe necro'ing this mod, but none the less, it fixed my issue I have with staff food coming in on trucks and filling my deliveries so no other truck can enter. Could you maybe make a mod dedicated for this issue that simply makes workmen put staff food in storage instead of deliveries? Thank you for this mod that just helped me out.

You might have an outdated rooms mod which doesn't have the staffcanusefacilities property as well...
donzs 11 Dec, 2018 @ 4:26am
I just fired all my staff and rehired everyone, i did nothing about the staffroom, will update later. Cheers
donzs 11 Dec, 2018 @ 4:05am
I just did adjust the Max Staff Taking Break to 90% just to how it might works, still about 40 staff is in critical and not going any lower than that, i speed it up to the next day to see.

So, is the number of tables/chairs/serving table matters?
murgh  [author] 11 Dec, 2018 @ 3:48am
Increase the Max Staff Taking Break setting at the policy tab.
donzs 11 Dec, 2018 @ 3:42am
Hi, did i do something wrong here? The staff still wont eat, and most of them are pissed off with full bar of food need. What should i do?

The staffroom marked staff only, objects needed is there. I dont know what else can i do
Maximus 31 Dec, 2017 @ 10:04pm
do we still need this mod or has the staff food problem been fixed in the new updates?
egore.pl 23 Jun, 2017 @ 1:25am
And THAT is a real news - You mean that guys fixed what was to fix ?
Nice feeling, to have my inside pessimist so happily surprised, at last.
Great thanks again!
(Pessimistic me mumbles something like 'and see you soon", but, i told him to shut up.)
murgh  [author] 22 Jun, 2017 @ 2:47pm
With PA 12a released, this mod is now redundant and should be disabled if you are on the beta branch. Only use it with PA 11f.
murgh  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 5:44am
Well you could DMCA the crap out of half the workshop submissions I guess. There are even idiots who take an existing prison and just reupload it like they made it themselves, lol.

Anyway, this discussion can go on for hours, but let's not. This place should be for comments/requests for this mod only. Thanks for your support :)
Jaunitta 🌸 18 Jun, 2017 @ 5:06am
Agree agree, just wanted to add that it's these mods that makes the games so brilliant and fun. They help achieve what the original couldnt and make it better
Syndicake ☠ 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:42am
Also he's obviously breaking the workshop rules by reuploading someone elses work. Since you have to acknowledge that you own the copyright permissions to do so.
Syndicake ☠ 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:41am
Up to you of course, I wouldn't like it if someone took my work and refused to credit me. I'd DMCA the crap out of them.
Syndicake ☠ 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:39am
Just so you know you can't use anything from other people's work without their permission and I promise you steam will respond to a DMCA notice, they have to as a service provider. They might decline to take it down if they aren't satisfied for some reason but that would be very unusual.

Mimicry is fine its just using other people's work that breaks copyright (if the author does not care then there is no problem.)
murgh  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:37am
@Syndicake pff, still too much effort for just a few simple lines of text in a mod, not even scripted with lua. :) I posted there asking him how about the credits, but he just removes any comment...
murgh  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:29am
I clearly don't mind if people want to re-use a mod as a base for a new one. Usually it can inspire and help a lot to create a new and improved mod. When much effort is put into it and existing code is used again to make something better out of it, that's great. And if the original work is mentioned as a source of inspiration with given credits to the original author, that's even better.

It's the way Advanced Roads, TeslaMatic 2.0 and the Customizable Control Booths were born for example. Huge and much more difficult scripts, greatly improved, but based on the barebone of older mods. The latter wouldn't have existed without Sambot's Snitch Sorter and I'm very grateful for that, I learned a lot from it. If you dig deep into those three mods you might still find a few ancient lines of code from the original works, but with a completely new frame made around it.
murgh  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 4:29am
However, if people just simply copy/paste a mod and call it themselves and start to delete comments from the original author and don't post credits, than that's a no-no. That's just stealing like the tons of copy/paste versions of the snitch sorter as well...
Jaunitta 🌸 18 Jun, 2017 @ 3:03am
I'd pass it onto the users who subscribed Murph's mods telling them to boycot and thumbs down any copies you may list for us. I'd be willing to do this and have alrady done so. We would be glad to support you this way.
Syndicake ☠ 18 Jun, 2017 @ 2:58am
I mean I would just click report, put in the reason that you own the copyright and then open a support ticket about it. I'm sure somebody will be willing to help. They might even tell you to submit a proper DMCA claim anyway, you can get templates for it off the net. You could also try contacting the other modder first, and asking him to credit you. DMCA isn't 'getting serious'. The whole reason it was made was to stop it 'getting serious' and to provide copyright holders a way of protection without having to go to court.
Syndicake ☠ 18 Jun, 2017 @ 2:53am
DMCA costs nothing to submit and the only requirement is that you state under perjury (the crime of lying in legal terms basically) that you own the copyright.

Steam will then have to take down the mod, or lose their copyright safe harbor provision. The other modder can submit a counter-DMCA but will have to provide his address and name to do so. That's typically how it's handled. You have nothing to lose really.
murgh  [author] 18 Jun, 2017 @ 2:42am
Because when you click on that link it really gets serious with a horde of lawyers and a court case including all costs to cover such a procedure, and that would be like killing a mosquito with a minigun. But if people just pressed the dislike and don't subscribe to it, that would be enough already. :steamfacepalm:
Syndicake ☠ 17 Jun, 2017 @ 10:38pm
If somebody copied your mod and didnt credit you why haven't you sent a DMCA takedown request?
egore.pl 17 Jun, 2017 @ 3:10pm
I mean, what and how he tried to fix :) the whole "motivation" isn't worth further analysis, waste of nerves.

Surprisingly, in my prison, amount of dirty trays picked up by guards and left in random places seems to be significantly lower with your fix than in vanilla game. If you say "no mod to fix that", probably it is just a side effect of overall "less mess": they tend to leave it in random places when their break time ends.

So, I guess, guards' tendence to randomly choose the more distant toilet, food, and so on, and to waste their time for long walks, is impossible to fix by any mod, too :(

I wrote at this guy's workshop something like "maybe try to remove collecting of dirty trays from guards' duties, and to leave the job for cooks", cause when staffroom is connected to kitchen in 'logistics', cook works in staffroom already, and guards' efforts make only mess.
Sorry for lame question, but maybe this is possible to fix by mod means?
murgh  [author] 17 Jun, 2017 @ 8:25am
Well I don't understand his motivation, it's just a blunt copy/paste and he didn't put credits in there while removing all my posts. So he made it look like it's his mod. The only thing he did was remove the foodtray definitions which broke it as well and then calls that 'complete'... Great job.

How and where the guards/cooks travel with the trays is handled by the AI just like the rest of any object being carried in the prison. There is no mod fix possible for that.
egore.pl 17 Jun, 2017 @ 8:20am
Good job, man. I should honestly give you congratulations and credits, twice.
Compared to the other guy's "fix", yours does not break the circulation of clean trays in the whole prison, as a side effect of increasing a bit the piles in staff canteens.
I can understand his motivation, but effect is a failure, and there is a better solution to clean trays' issue.

Correct me if I am wrong: did You fix guards' tendence to travel with dirty trays across the whole prison? (and they no longer carry them to so absurd places...) I am not sure, but the mess between my two canteens seems to be reduced.

Good job, again :)

egore.pl 17 Jun, 2017 @ 7:05am
I'll give it a try :) I wonder especially if I should expect my cooks peregrinating everywhere, or this is that "spoiled" part.

I'll be back :)
Darklink 9 May, 2017 @ 3:40pm
Awsome thanks for replying to my post in the discussions so glad you have the skills to tweak and help balance this system.
Unknown<3 7 May, 2017 @ 3:32pm
Thank you so much for you explaination and patience. I understand now. So if I place 20 chairs its pretty common for them to just appear in the storage instead of being delivered. I have not played it for a couple months and I thought everything got delivered. Sorry about all the spam :) Thank you for all your support
murgh  [author] 7 May, 2017 @ 3:29pm
Cheat mode has everything enabled by default. Setting is stored in savedgame, so starting a new map without cheats enabled will be normal. Many things are teleported by default, this was a devs choice to make roads less full with trucks. Less trucks = more space for trucks with food.
Unknown<3 7 May, 2017 @ 3:26pm
But now every game I start everything is on immediate. Even if I disable and delete all my mods. The only way to play a normal game now is to start it in cheatmode and disable all the immediate options. Any thoughts?
murgh  [author] 7 May, 2017 @ 3:22pm
That mode is used for testing mods and quickly building prisons, and other things... It's not intended for normal game, so if you start a new game then dont tick the checkbox for it.
Unknown<3 7 May, 2017 @ 3:20pm
Thank you so much. I guess I will have to start over and use cheats/devmode. Everything was on immediate and I dont know why. I've never used cheats/devmode before :S
murgh  [author] 7 May, 2017 @ 3:14pm
In cheats/devmode click F1 and untick everything with immediate.
Unknown<3 7 May, 2017 @ 3:08pm
I've just tested it some more and youre right its not this mod. It's strange because I dont have cheats enabled and it started after I installed this mod. I must confess I have not played the game in a while and I notice if I turn off this mod it still happens so yeah it must be something else. Sorry. Everything just appears in my storage / delivery. Im pretty sure its not any other mod either because it still happens after I disable them all. Maybe have to reinstall my game :(.
murgh  [author] 7 May, 2017 @ 2:50pm
Or perhaps another mod which makes all materials/objects teleportable, but it's certainly not this one.
murgh  [author] 7 May, 2017 @ 2:48pm
You are playing a map with cheats/devtools enabled. Nothing more nothing less. This mod does not do anything else than the above.
Unknown<3 7 May, 2017 @ 2:32pm
this mod disables all the trucks coming in. It spawns everything I order at the delivery or storage room and then right into the hands of a worker. You dont have to wait for trucks to deliver anything no toilets or doors or beds. Everything is now spawned automaticly at the storage room. I dont know if I like that :S
murgh  [author] 5 May, 2017 @ 1:13am
That only works with cheats enabled. If you want extra foodtrays use my recycling mod.
Jaunitta 🌸 4 May, 2017 @ 8:00pm
To get more trays just add more Servery, each time you add a servery new trays will arrive on the road. Do you have the Spawn Tab? It's next to Emergancies bottom far right , it has all items in the game including any mods.., it's a quick way to spawn items you need fast.
You can just drop them in the storage or deliveries

Thank you for your answer.
I actually misunderstood this mod intentions, I do not need more staff food, I just need more trays to be in the Serving Table where the staff eats. I never run out of food, just trays. Thank you.
Jaunitta 🌸 3 May, 2017 @ 10:11pm
Any mods you download will just download to your Steam Game, then start Prison Architect go to your Main Menu, then EXTRAS> then open Mods and activate. To de-activate a mod just do this again but untick the mod
Marcuz 3 May, 2017 @ 7:49pm
Where should I put the file downloaded? Thanks
murgh  [author] 30 Apr, 2017 @ 1:15pm
Cooks never touch staffmeals. When staffmeals are delivered by truck they can easily come too late when the road is full with traffic. So to minimize pssed off guards finding empty serving tables the food gets teleported to deliveries as soon as its needed. :)
Vas 29 Apr, 2017 @ 6:15pm
I like half of this mod's idea. I like all the serving tables being filled evenly, however I still want food trucks to be dropping off food before the cooks can get it.
McConkeyy11 22 Apr, 2017 @ 10:27am
okay thank you
Jaunitta 🌸 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:57am
I only build staffroom not canteens. See snapshots. Put all the normal stuff in there, bookshelf TV lounge chairs softdrink as it is a staffroom then add in including toilets no servery replace with vending machines. Happy staff. The recycle and gardens create the fruit trays etc. All works then. If you try the vending machines build a cold room and wire the electricity so there is a green light on. You can set what time the aircon works. Thanks murgh I never looked back after your mods.:steamhappy:
murgh  [author] 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:25am
Yup, serving tables become completely obsolete when using my vending machines.
McConkeyy11 22 Apr, 2017 @ 2:23am
so if you have vending machines you dont need a serving tables in your staff room/canteen
