Nothing to be afraid of.
Sorry about that, thanks for explaining what you meant.
I saw the last eight words in your comment and thought:
He said some workshop submissions are just content theft.
He posted this on my workshop submission.
He's calling me a thief.
*TRIGGERED*
I should probably read a comment properly before I respond to it.
I should also probably stop responding to comments just after I wake up when I can't make the distinction between a 'p' and a 'q'...
Did I wrote "The creator of this hex stole the content from someone/somewhere else" or something like that? I did not.
My accusation and conclusion where I wrote "most of them are stolen or remodeled/reworked items" was meant for other pricks who don't put effort into something and simply steal from each other. I'm not saying that you're one of those pricks, nor any of the other popular modelers/hexers on gmod are...but I came across other less popular modelers, who simply took the old contents (forgotten actually), simply renamed it and claimed for their own.
Don't forget - it's GMod Workshop. That shit's usual here, just like FNaF saves, which should be private/friends only view.
If you look in the description, I have made it clear on all my hexes that I am not the original creator, and I am not claiming to be.
I have provided the name of the author, a link to the original mod download page and a link to the Steam community workshop submission page, if one exists.
Calling me a thief is like calling responding using the [ quote] [/quote] function stealing:
"You can clearly see who the original quoted post belongs to, but because it's in your comment box, than must mean your claiming you wrote it, which makes you a theif!"
Basically, what I'm saying is I'm not stealing, because I never claimed for this to be my work.
Wait, really?
Damn... and here I was trying to be creative and original...
@heatoid
A hex is taking a mod, usually a reskin, and tweaking the file structure and, if necessary, the code of some of the files, so Garry's Mod sees the mod as a seperate entity.
For example, if I just took the Insaneator mod files and pasted them into Garry's Mod without any changes, the game will overwrite the Scorch Shot with the Insanerator because they both have the same file structure.
By renaming some files, Garry's Mod will see the Insanerator as it's own object, and thus allows both items to be used simultaneosly.
Some are remodeled/reworked things. Some just stolen and claimed for their own.
That's what TF2 Hex is......but you could also ask your uncle Google.
and how does it work?
