Is this compatible with LWotC?

Changing a few lines of a .ini file and then begs for money? Get a life.

@orow21 go to (wherever XCOM 2 is installed)\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\847495317\Config and open the XComLW_InfiltrationSettings.ini

Install notepade++
https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

Open the ini XComLW_InfiltrationSettings.ini find

+SquadSizeInfiltrationFactor[12]=6.4f

change the 6.4 to 1.8 or whatever you like 1.8 is the cost of a 8man squad
Orow 21 jul, 2017 @ 8:56
I'm having an issue with the squad size modifier when trying to make it so I can take 12 soldiers missions I made it so I can select them, but the squad size modifier is like 28 days so it makes the mission impossible. I tried changing the squadsize infiltration factor for all 12 but that really doesnt seem to change the giant squad size modifier I get everytime I try to take more than 8 soldiers. How can I stop the squad size modifer from becoming so high?

Dear RealityMachina,

I play with most of your mods loaded. They have enriched my gameplay immensely, so I felt the least I owed you for all your hard work was an admirative and grateful thank you. You must feel as though you have covered every aspect of the game after having produced so many great mods, but if you ever feel as though you could caugh up one more, I will most likely play it as I am following you.

I'll probably update it to work with 1.3's values if it doesn't already, probably not changing it that much since it didn't seem LW2 changed how fast/slow infiltration happened or how it was calculated, just what could affect it in terms of items and what not. (Or added new mechanics to it like reinforcement strength depending on infiltration %)

Hey reality, are you thinking of changing this slightly with the changes to 1.3??

Thanks, Wigpeeler!

GhillieMan, I feel your pain. Sometimes you wonder if there are real masochists creating this stuff: instant reinforcements turn after exposure, 8-man pods, faceless by target? etc, etc. But usually when I try a different strategy, or think about what I was doing, I find a way to make it work. I gave up first four campaigns after 2-3 missions. The key is realizing that the LW2 guys wanted to take the concealed mechanic to its extreme - you aren't supposed to sit and fight and get very little xp for kills, much more for mission success. I'd recommend looking at the "strategy" forum on www.pavonisinteractive.com for LW2. Lots of great tips there, and some config tweaks (flares for reinforcements, etc) in the "Long War 201" forum as well.

Once you figure out sneaking, fallback, and running fights, it is actually quite fun - hard though! The first time you pull off a shinobi/sharpshooter 2-man VIP mission you will be glad you gave it time.

Would this be safe to remove mid campaign?
Fidelfc 5 feb, 2017 @ 15:57
Hey, RM, thanks for makings this mod, i would like to make two requests (the complaints aren't directed to you, it's more like a explanation of why i want then):

1- Less "Faceless Missions", i've been doing more of these (boring) missions than anything else, it's basically mandatory to use ALL haven advisers as soldiers, because FFS EVERY haven have a HUGE amount of faceless.

2-Less Snakes(vipers and co), how i am supposed to deal with 6 snakes in a map poisoning and grabbing everyone? There are not enough flashbangs that can disorient them, and let's not even talk about they ridiculous dodge ability.
GhillieMan 5 feb, 2017 @ 15:55
First of all, Thank all of you for your work. Please bear with me as I'm in my mid 60s and not nearly as talented as you guys in this.

My 38 year old son turned me on to the LW mod. Great gameplay, but I"M GETTING KILLED only in my 2nd Mission. I'm having to reload, and reload, and reload my the previous STEPS of moving my team way too many times, and I'm about ready to throw in the towel on LW. IT'S TOO DARN HARD.

I have it in "Rookie" mode, but is there a way to make the entire gameplay easier? (per the 2016 LW posts on the internet, there is no "* - Training.ini" file on my PC to rename to make it play in an easier Training mode.

Please help. Thank you.

I like the infiltration mechanic actually, but anecdotally it is vulnerable to rng. I've had runs where it was treating me beautifully and others where I just couldn't catch a break with infiltration timers despite dedicating my havens to intel gathering.
Lady Alecto 1 feb, 2017 @ 17:19
Thank you for both the mod and pointing out the location of this Ini file, been hunting for that information.

Because as it stands right now the infiltration mechanic is a poorly thought out imbalanced exercise in power creep, and more frustration then is worth putting up with.

At least this let's make it more LW1 ish, with just mission choice (more so if you set min mission hours to 5 days) to worry about, instead of the BS of 85% impossible missions or having to boost everything to bring an actual squad.
LeftPaw 30 jan, 2017 @ 3:24
Could you make a mod to also stop the avatar project triggering in LW2?
marshmallow justice 29 jan, 2017 @ 1:12
Hey RM, if we wanted to do this ourselves in the LW_InfiltrationSettings.ini, is this the only area to tweak in regards to giving us more minimum inifiltration time (and consequently bumping squadsizes up): ;

Minimum and Maximum possible infiltration times
+InfiltrationTime_MinHours=12f
+InfiltrationTime_MaxHours=1296f

Finding LW2 "a bit too difficult". What a joke.

No one find LW2 a bit too difficult, they find it (and rightfully so) stupidly unbalanced.
MrShadow 23 jan, 2017 @ 18:59
thats fine. I dont mind the dodge how it is now in the normal game, i just hate all the grazing
Juravis 23 jan, 2017 @ 17:32
Units with dodge can still dodge, putting the Graze Band to 0 doesnt disable dodge entirely. Youll see a lot of grazes against vipers for example, thats normal.
MrShadow 23 jan, 2017 @ 15:40
@Cap... thee is a graze slider option in the game. Once in game, hit Esc and go to the long war options and turn the slider down to 0
Hex: Rauschepauli 23 jan, 2017 @ 8:32
ok so i used the option but it still happens and it gets really to my nerfs. all the time 1 dmg shots because of grazed... i know this has nothing to do with this mod but i(and probally a bunch of other dudes) would love it if we could get back the old dodge because i really pref 1 dodge in 4 shots instead of all 4 shots beeing 1 dmg. hope one of ur mods in the future could do that (:
Juravis 21 jan, 2017 @ 20:58
-bg- said that if you put the Graze Banding to 0, a crit will cancel a dodge, and result in a normal hit.
Hex: Rauschepauli 21 jan, 2017 @ 17:08
hm maybe it is and im just blind but i saw others having the same problem and i dind't see an option or solution yet. im gonna look a bit around and thx for the response^^
RealityMachina  [skapare] 21 jan, 2017 @ 17:01
I believe that's supposed to be able to be turned off in-game? At least from what I recall with my discussions with the LW team.
