Further playing reveals it also does not affect the new hero classes.

RealityMachina,
Seems to work just fine in WoTC with the exception of not having an icon, just shows the default .img icon.

RealityMachina,
I know you are working hard on the mods, just wanted to know if this one was getting updated as well for WoTC?
DERPKING1991 7 Jul, 2017 @ 1:19am
@Dragon32 Yeah In a sense, I mean thos three are the only three id change
Dragon32 7 Jul, 2017 @ 1:10am
@Derp King 1991 -_-:
By the "way they were" do you mean override LW 2's changes and revert their behaviour to that of the vanilla game?
DERPKING1991 6 Jul, 2017 @ 8:48pm
If you could or anybody, could you find the three Weapon Upgrades that i can change back to the way they were(Scope, Stock, and Hair Trigger)??

Thank you very much for this RealityMachina! :-)

@=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil:
Looking at the code I think changing that to False will mean that Stocks no longer provide Steady Weapon and rather revert to their missed shots do damage behaviour.

So it's a "Keep Steady Weapon Ability on Stocks" boolean.

But I could be wrong...

What does keepsteady do in the ini?? :\ Is that so it doesn't decay?
SentySent 15 Feb, 2017 @ 1:42am
@RealityMachina: I do read the description, but I was assuming the miss damage effect was activated as default. I've managed to adjust the config file to turn it on after I post that comment.
RealityMachina  [author] 14 Feb, 2017 @ 12:55pm
All right, since people apparently don't read descriptions nor author comments anymore, give me a bit.
BladeofSharpness 14 Feb, 2017 @ 12:42am
I confirm it seems that the guaranteed damages don't work. Unless there is a condition I don't know about, it very rarely work if at all.
SentySent 11 Feb, 2017 @ 4:57am
Does the miss damage applicable to reaction shots? Because it doesn't proc during overwatch in my campaign.
pseudocalm 5 Feb, 2017 @ 1:41pm
The stocks in game still say they do damage on miss. When I equip them, I see 2 steady weapon abilities on my soldiers, 1 vanilla, and 1 modded I assume, since one ends turn and one doesnt.
^ That's the behavior that is happening in game. It doesn't match the description you give of your mod at all. I don't see any evidence of stacking bonuses, just 2 separate abilities. LW2 changed the stock's description to say they give steady weapon, your mod changed the description back to say they do damage on miss except they don't. The description of your mod above doesn't match whats happening in my game, the comments below are confusing and don't really match the description above OR whats happening in my game. Are equipping stocks supposed to add a 2nd steady weapon ability so that I can choose between the modded one and the LW2 one? If so why are the descriptions wrong?
RealityMachina  [author] 3 Feb, 2017 @ 1:41pm
Delete the contained localization file if you're not adjusting the .ini to use vanilla stock behaviour (it's basically close to what you described already), no easy way to auto-adjust text at the moment.
Dreyfus0414 3 Feb, 2017 @ 12:50pm
Instead of reverting the stocks to their old ways. Maybe make it give an aim bonus when holding still? So it stacks with steady weapon for extra "steadyness"
KreNich 2 Feb, 2017 @ 1:52am
Is there a way to make the LW2 Stock effects "upgrade" this steady weapon ability? I mean if my soldier equips a stock, the steady weapon effect changes to 10+15/20/25? Of course in this case the stock effect needs a nerf (like: 5/10/15). I am courious.
NewBee 29 Jan, 2017 @ 5:04am
what does this setting do ?
KeepSteady = true;
ferret 27 Jan, 2017 @ 3:36am
Just to update, the steady weapon option does now appear. Am i right in thinking that it does take an action, even if it does not end the turn?
ferret 26 Jan, 2017 @ 2:07am
Stocks still list as do damage on miss, even though they dont. Yet my soldiers without stocks do not seem to have "Steady Weapon" as an option, which is what i thought this was meant to do?
DERPKING1991 24 Jan, 2017 @ 9:20pm
They all need to be put back to vanilla functionality, all but one that is.
RealityMachina  [author] 24 Jan, 2017 @ 8:45am
@ferret Ah right forgot there's no easy way to switch out localizations.

Ok so basically right now, the default behaviour for stocks is still LW's "stocks give steady weapon", it's just that earlier I had switched to "everybody has the +20 version by default, stocks give miss damage", some people just thought the alternative of being able to stack steady weapon aim was a better idea, so I switched the mechanics to that.

ferret 24 Jan, 2017 @ 2:39am
Stocks seem to do damage when missing target again now and not steady weapon? Is that an update or something to do with this mod?
BloodyAstartes 23 Jan, 2017 @ 4:07pm
haha seconded. When the first advent dodged my bullet and caught damage from the corleolis affect going by... i was a little wtf. Godamn snakes.
Postmaster 23 Jan, 2017 @ 3:59pm
I like @Darloth's idea!
RealityMachina  [author] 23 Jan, 2017 @ 1:21pm
@darloth eh, alright, i'll do a variation on that.
Darloth 23 Jan, 2017 @ 1:11pm
Have you considered making stocks give you a Steady Weapon that doesn't end the turn? Perhaps less aim bonus, but stacks with the +20 this mod naturally gives?

Then people with a stock get an additional option - if they Steady + Fire that's good, if they Move + Aim (endturn) + Steady + Fire next turn, that's really really good.

Guaranteed damage on a miss seemed a really odd mechanic, especially in LW2.
bilfdoffle 23 Jan, 2017 @ 12:19pm
So, I guess you'll never need stocks, then?
RealityMachina  [author] 23 Jan, 2017 @ 11:47am
@Tuhalu Yes, scatter basically rolls against your Aim stat to see how severe the scatter is.

Tuhalu 23 Jan, 2017 @ 11:29am
Does rocket scatter even have anything to do with accuracy in LW2? As far as I can tell, it's a base of (up to) 4 tiles scattered, with +2 for moving that round and -2 for the Fire in the Hole skill. 2 tile scatter in an optimal situation isn't so bad.

If accuracy does affect the scatter beyond that, it would be interesting to be able to confirm it.
