hmm thats an interesting development it might have fixed its self XD

Still broken? I see green on my radar but not sure if blocks or mountains or what
the_educater  [author] 9 Nov, 2017 @ 3:23pm
confirmed this script is broken! no idea whats done it though, if any one knows please shout it from the top of your local mountain.

@the_educater I've had very little sleep the last few days, so I know all about lack of motivation. Initially I thought I had missed a line terminator when I edited the script, so I tried the defaut script, and even tried it in a new world. Unfortunately it's beyond my skill level to fix.
the_educater  [author] 12 Oct, 2017 @ 1:54pm
also you can try testing one of my builds that has it in it. its tagged in the side bar--------------------^
the_educater  [author] 12 Oct, 2017 @ 1:54pm
welp I curently lack the drive and the time to fix it, but check line 535 character 43 and see if you can figure it out. when i have time i'll investigate it

@the_educater I'm on the default branch (Stable?). Everything's changed since I last played.
the_educater  [author] 11 Oct, 2017 @ 4:25pm
hmm you on stable or dev branch?
Anach 10 Oct, 2017 @ 8:44pm
I get "Program[535,43}: Error: Argument 1: cannot convert from 'double' to 'float'. That's with the untouched script.
the_educater  [author] 22 Sep, 2017 @ 5:14pm
as of the date above yes, but as of rn idk.
Merlin 19 Sep, 2017 @ 5:34pm
does this still work?
the_educater  [author] 8 Jul, 2017 @ 10:02am
I wish there was but alas no, the radar needs to be exposed
-DDSSTT- 8 Jul, 2017 @ 8:32am
is there a way for the cameras to ignore certian blocks, like windows? If I place window blocks around the rotor it blocks the signal. :( so I cannot protect the radar array...
the_educater  [author] 1 Jul, 2017 @ 7:02pm
@zac lee thanks! Now about your question, I answered it in a previous comment. I really wish a proper 3D radar was possible create in the in game scripts but alas, no; for that you need a proper mod
zen 1 Jul, 2017 @ 6:18pm
love it. As a vanilla ship builder, always wanted a long range quad radar and the romote control style was never usable.

I got a question

Is it possible to make a 3D radar field using a veritally alighned rotor on a horizontally alighned rotor? I realize not with this build though. Just an Idea
the_educater  [author] 27 Jun, 2017 @ 8:10pm
Lol ok, if you every find out what caused the error tell me and I'll fix it asap
Dar Kovalord 27 Jun, 2017 @ 6:49pm
It's fine, was an experiment. Not to worry.
the_educater  [author] 27 Jun, 2017 @ 6:43pm
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm are you editing any of the parameters? if not try striping the parts off the example in the side bar--->
Dar Kovalord 27 Jun, 2017 @ 6:37pm
Deleted the prog block, put script in new block, runs okay, but still throws up the same issue when I click "check code"
the_educater  [author] 27 Jun, 2017 @ 4:53pm
I tried recreate this and couldn't try replacing the programing block and the script with a clean copy. if that fails cut out the working one from my example craft
Dar Kovalord 27 Jun, 2017 @ 4:42pm
It still seems to be working, just threw up that error when I clicked "Check Code"
the_educater  [author] 27 Jun, 2017 @ 4:21pm
hmmmm
i have no clue ill have to look into it
Dar Kovalord 27 Jun, 2017 @ 3:28pm
Error:
--
Program [17,5]: Warning: Field 'Program.colorOrientationDot' is assigned but its valie is never used

What do I do?

np any time
COMMANDER_ INVICTUS 11 Jun, 2017 @ 6:58am
K thanks
the_educater  [author] 11 Jun, 2017 @ 6:55am
Ahh the camera setup needs to be out side the ship, because the script runs on a raycast function, basically the cameras shoot out lasers that need to hit the terrain to map it, also if your in space there is no terrain for the lasers to hit so.... (also thescript can only scan on a single flat disc, so no up and down at all, just side to side, so this script really isn't meant for detecting vehicles, just terrain mapping and to look cool 😎)
COMMANDER_ INVICTUS 10 Jun, 2017 @ 7:14am
Ok this is what i got: cameras are on a large block on a [rotor RADAR] the rotor is not advanced, all cameras have RADAR LFET,RIGHT,FRONT,BACK in there names, they are all faceing upright not upside down (meaning the view on them is not upside down) and they are all faceing proper directions according to their names. Also the hole set up is inside the ship not in out side.I am not on a planet but in space. I dont know what else to tell you.
the_educater  [author] 9 Jun, 2017 @ 5:34pm
Hmm the route causes of this are either your cameras are configured incorrectly and the script is t seeing them or part of the target API was changed in the update. Do me a favor and check your cameras then get back to me, thanks
COMMANDER_ INVICTUS 9 Jun, 2017 @ 4:34pm
I need help The Radar on a screen spins and renders but it dosent detect anything? NEED ADVICE PLEASE HELP
the_educater  [author] 6 Apr, 2017 @ 12:17pm
@everyone Im looking into a far more usefull and less laggy code that would serve a funtion similar to a radar but be a whole lot more functional:steamhappy:
the_educater  [author] 6 Apr, 2017 @ 12:15pm
they have to have line of site with the terrain since they are basicaly "lazer range finders" and if you block the lazer they wont work. also yes they need to be on a rotor or else the lazers would only ever be pointed in one direction defeating the purpose of a radar.
commie._.tears 5 Apr, 2017 @ 5:32pm
Do the cameras have to be on the exterior? or can they be on the inside? Also, do they have to be attached to a rotor?
the_educater  [author] 9 Mar, 2017 @ 3:19pm
I LOVE YOU :steamhappy:
Astronomical 9 Mar, 2017 @ 1:44pm
Yea I see what you mean this script should have a lot more subscribers. Well I'm getting ready to put a ship on the workshop that I've been working on for awhile (If I ever decide it's finished lol). This script is already included and I'll provide you with credit and a link. Thanks again.
the_educater  [author] 9 Mar, 2017 @ 12:02pm
like and subscibe for more scrub-licious content @ Astronomical PS message to all: spread the word that this script exsist I dont think many people have noticed it
Astronomical 8 Mar, 2017 @ 9:02pm
This script is exactly what I was looking for: a fix for one of the broken radar scripts using the new camera feature. While probably not terribly useful for multiplayer (being two dimensional and limited by high range settings causing lag) it works perfectly, doesn't cause much lag at all on default range setting, and still looks great on a LCD screen! Thanks
the_educater  [author] 24 Feb, 2017 @ 10:56am
@Dracco0085 I'm Pretty sure, but I never tested it. the original that I modified could and I only changed how it found targets so it should still work. get back to me if it doesn't and I'll look into it
Dracco0085 23 Feb, 2017 @ 7:40pm
Will this work with only one camera?
the_educater  [author] 3 Feb, 2017 @ 8:11pm
but I can easily make a sensor run one so you dont need a radar mod just a sensor one
Captain Robertson 3 Feb, 2017 @ 8:09pm
That's unfortunate, I was hoping they at least had a small FOV... No worries, I'll just stick with the laggy crashfest of a Radar mod I'm currently using. ;)
the_educater  [author] 3 Feb, 2017 @ 7:23pm
@Baraban saddly that can never work due to the fact that raycast is esentialy a lazer, it is ok for scaning terain on planets but in space the camera raycast "lazers" are likely to never strike a target, thats why his original 3d script never used the old remotecontroll block feature getfreedestination (similar to raycast)
Captain Robertson 3 Feb, 2017 @ 9:19am
If you're able to effect a similar fix for the 3D graphical radar, i.e. get it to use Camera Raycast instead of those dodgy modded sensors, I'll use it in my future videos and you'll have my sincere thanks!
