@bk3000 That's strange, me and a friend did some testing last night after our server wouldn't let us connect, the crash happened after stardust updated and it was the hotbar that stopped us getting in the server. It all works fine now though, maybe we're just incompetent at server related issues, thanks for taking a look anyways, much appreciated!

Having seen your comment, I copied the latest StardustLib from the Workshop. Seems to work fine. I tested the 10 slot version of this mod though though. StardustLib isn't even patching /interface/windowconfig/actionbar,config
So that can't be it.

Perhaps your conflict is with another mod? If I could figure out what it was, I could probably do something about it.

@bk3000 Just a heads up that your sidebars now conflict with StardustLib, the author of StardustLib edited some Quickbar stuff and it seems to conflict, is there any chance you can give us a patch, love the sidebar!

I have seen one a very long time ago, but the mod never update again.

Not sure I understand the question but I'll guess what you mean. If you're replacing the png file and yours loads after mine, then yours would be in the same location without needing to mess with patches.

Like I say, feel free to distribute your result if you feel it turns out well enough to do so. I keep my mods free use (guess you can't tell on Steam) so that people have permission to utilize my assets as they please.

And this particular mod isn't totally original anyhow. I took inspiration from the vanilla bar, but changed it up in different ways. It is a derivative work, thus I can't (and wouldn't) complain about someone else making their own derivative work from it.

The bottom link in the description goes to my mods on the SB forums - simple downloads in a 7z container. So just extract with 7zip and tinker away.

If your not willing to put the time into making that change, could you give me the code so i can tweak it a bit to suit me only, then? All you have to do is post it on probably pastebin or something and i can just post my version as unlisted.

My ideal isn't everyone's, but it is mine. I would not be offended if you changed this to match your ideal and published it. I can't see myself bothering with all that for something I'd not like.

When I do work up the motivation to put in some work, I have lots of other mod projects I'd rather pour my time into. Too many LOL.

Take a look at the screenshot there. See how the Essential Slots are in their own little bar? See how it is a little bigger to boot? I'd need to move that bar into the middle, thus turning 2 bar sections into 3 and making it taller to compensate the extra bordering/joining area. It would look far different and IMO far less slick.

Considering how I usually use mouse clicking/dragging (when not using faster hotkey switching), I've just put a lot of seperation between 1-3 and 4-6. So I've made that less appealing given how I use it.

More than that, there a lots of little elements to move around. Each button has several little UI elements. Numbers need adjusted for each. Testing, trial, error... all for something I'd never use myself.

no, i meant the placement in the ui, not changing the ui itself. all im asking if you could make a separate mod or something so the scroll is corrected.

Well not EVERYTHING is how I want it, but the rest is hard coded. The buttons themselves are where I want them to be. I wouldn't like them moved.

That would make it better in your opinion, not mine. It already is the way I want it. Feel free to make your own that matches your tastes.

Unfortunately the scroll wheel is hard coded. It would be nice that they had they in a configuration, or failing that just went in order of the bars as defined.

For a better use you could invert slots 1 2 3 and 4 5 6.

I can see how this can be a bit hard to use at first, especially when you have the MM slots in the middle. If you were to make a version where you switch the 1, 2, and 3 slots with the 4, 5, and 6 slots for those that prefer using their scroll wheel to change items, I'd definitely sub to that.

I could see though that initially it just isn't what you're used to but that stage shouldn't last long.

I don't have any issue using it. In fact I find it easier as you have less mouse travel(if not using hotkeys) between different items. I'm not quite sure what there is to fix unless you mean the essential slots not being in the middle of the others. It looks and feels more efficient exactly how it is now so I don't intend to do a change like that.

What ship mode are you using in the picture?

This doesn't affect the swappable hotbar count itself. This version is purely cosmetic. If that's all that mod does, it is fine.

My other version adds more bars too(there are other mods that do this), but in the same style as this. It also doesn't change the swappable hotbar count, so same story.

If Geeks Hotbar does other things, it might not be(depending on load order).

Would there be compatibility with Geek's Hotbar (that allows 6 switchable hotbar instead of 2)?
