fletcher perk...makes me lol a little, since, with dawnguard, you can craft arrows...in bundles of 24. XD If it works for bolts though, would be nice.

just wondering about smithing special arrows, I have 90 in smithing but i still cant seem to get the advanced fletcher perk after getting the regular fletcher perk. is there something im missing?

A minor glitch I seem to be doing x9 with a basic bow or x12 with a longbow (using the longbow mod from steam (not that i can remember what its called offhand) but explosive arrow + Ebony longbow seems to make a LOT of dead dragons if i catch them napping

The ONLY way you can achieve 800 BASE damage with any weapon is if you are using an exploit in the game or you load your toon up with Fortify Archery items, use True Shot potions, and apply poison. But, you said "without enchantments or potions"... so you're exploiting the game somehow.

I call BS on doing 800 BASE damage with a Level 34 toon in Archery. Even if you took Smithing and increased your bow to "Legendary" and took all 5 Overdraw perks, all 3 Critical Shots perks, and used a Dragonbone bow you will NEVER, without the use of enchantments or potions to get to 800 BASE damage.

Dragonbone bow base damage = 20
Dragonbone arrow damage = 25
5 Overdraw perks = 90 (100% base damage increase of arrows and bow)
Legendary smithing = +10 at Smithing skill 100 (no potions or Smithing bonus gear)
Critical Shot perk (50% damage based off items' BASE damage) = +23 (50% of 45)

Sub-total = 100 (123 if you achieve a critical hit), assuming unenchanted Dragonbone bow
Total = 100 (or 123) + Archery 100 skill
Grand Total = 369 if you achieve a sneak attack and have the Deadly Aim perk (no enchantments or poisons used)

archery was never over shadowed in every guy or girl iv made on skyrim the only real simlarity was they all fukin had to use arows to kill dragons and do the stealth missions for the drk brotherhood lol but good idea nice u made archery even more op XD
Michael Bone 19 Sep, 2013 @ 2:02pm
@Arod Snaux to be honest, historically speaking the long bow made armor and swords pretty much obsolete, although it may make it OP it certainly isn't unrealistic.
Bass Pro Shop Looking Ass 10 Sep, 2012 @ 3:43pm
cool mod thanx

Archery ECLIPSED by endgame??? It's the third most grossly OP skill! - a level 50+ archer in a vanilla game can drop Alduin in a single shot if you're playing it correctly... in fact I usually find I have to intentionally cripple my toon just to make it challenging, even on Master...

Case in point, my latest toon is level 34 and his bow is hitting around 800 base damage, without enchantments or potions... by 60 with full perks that will be closer to 4k per hit. That's vanilla without any mods or cheats.

I'm not bashing your mod, but wow, make archery LESS viable, not more!

Yes, this mod requires you to have the Advanced Fletcher perk to create any of the special arrows/bolts. Despite having Dawnguard, I haven't used any of the crossbows, so I can't say if I'll add anything special for them.

Hey Carlzilla,

Cool mod. I just have a couple of questions. I primarily use the crossbow, are you going to add any perks that specifically pertain to that weapon in the future? Also, do I need the Advanced Fletcher perk to make the special crossbow bolts that you obtain in the Dawnguard questline? I thought I had to the ability to make them prior to installing the mod, but now I can't find them in the crafting list. Thanks for the the info.

I wouldn't mind that, i havn't even put a perk into my crossbowmans smithings feltching, i usually just buy bolts from the dawnguard, also what about alternate quiver positions? new crossbows/bows if you can model and such i could help with textures if you need such help, add in more features to hunters roaming the wilds, and more animals to hunt in the wild, maybe even have the foresty area around falkreath hold have more bears, wolves, rabbits and so on, and just more in general.

I have a quick question for everyone who uses this mod; would putting the fletching perks on the marksman tree bother anyone?

The reason being is that I just found out that for every perk tree I modify, it makes the mod incompatible with any other mod that tries to edit that tree. Since this is entirely a marksman mod, and it makes sense that you'd have to know how to work a bow and arrow to make arrows more so than how to blacksmith.

Arrows already distract people in Skyrim though. Just shoot an arrow around a crowded place and they'll all go to investigate. I've used this tactic to lure people out in to the open while not giving up my hiding spot.
Holodream 12 Aug, 2012 @ 12:41pm
Just by reading what this adds i subbed, i really want to make an archer but i felt the same way, it drops off and doesn't have much "utility" as mage or melee, why not add distraction arrows and all that good stuff, similar to thieves arsenal for oblivion
Tenways 12 Aug, 2012 @ 10:48am
ok thanks
Carlzilla  [author] 12 Aug, 2012 @ 10:13am
Vampire Armor. I'm using the Bandolier mod though, so that's what you're probably talking about.
Tenways 12 Aug, 2012 @ 10:05am
nice mod, and what is that armor?
Carlzilla  [author] 10 Aug, 2012 @ 8:52pm
I changed the recipes to match the ones in my non-Dawnguard version. The mod was started before I got Dawnguard, so I got used to my recipes. Basically it makes them a little more expensive in the firewood department, and you get them in bundles of 25 (because I like carrying 100 arrows and that keeps it nice and tidy) instead of 24.
Terminus Est 10 Aug, 2012 @ 8:15pm
Subbed! But you can already craft arrows in dawnguard, so what's up with the fletcher perk?
Akar 10 Aug, 2012 @ 5:39pm
Nice i might try this mod and i like how you showed whata you changed you had to put allot of time to type all that
