You're right, the patch has been out for very long time.

This was fixed in the Unofficial Skyrim Patch, making this mod mostly obsolete.

It would be nice to mention it in the description.

If users still experience this issue with USKP, they should first check their load order for things that overwrite USKP's files and then apply appropriate compatibility patches.

@troy Few things:
1) You obviously haven't dont much level designing, or you'd know this bug was just a result of bad placement of a room border. You see, to save RAM while inside interior cells, the game is designed to not render rooms that you can't see untill you pass over the rendering threshhold. In this case, the rendering threshhold was simply a little too far inside the room.
2) The ecape route for all jail cells throughout skyrim allways starts inside your jail cell, as you have no lockpicks to get out of the main cell door.
3) The mark you are descibing is called a shadowmark, and they are immersive symbols used by the thieve's guild to make various things. Even if there was an escape shadowmark there (and there wasn't as I just looked both in-game and in the Creation Kit), that doesn't mean that it was marking a hidden wall.
TherapyBear 28 Nov, 2013 @ 3:39pm
actually no it is from orignal skyrim the shackle im talking about is not visable and the escape route entrance is there didnt you notice the shadow mark on the post ( a engraved symbol that means "escape is this way!"

I believe i would have noticed if there were that kind of extra objects in that wall area, didn't see any. This fix is for the original Skyrim before any downloadable content was out, but you tell me if there are issues with them.

I didn't delete any objects in making this, i just moved the portal backwards so that you can actually see more than you used to, not hide it.
TherapyBear 10 Nov, 2013 @ 5:50pm
you fix this stuff tell me
TherapyBear 10 Nov, 2013 @ 5:50pm
what people dont see actually is the wall is conectied to a invisable shackle wich was supost to part of the escape route but it is not there becuse well the wall was designed to crumble but didnt

Good mod' glad that it fixes this.
spore 24 Jul, 2012 @ 2:46pm
@zaflis yes, uninstalling the mod made it fine again (hopefully ^^)
Zaflis  [author] 24 Jul, 2012 @ 2:31pm
@spore Did you try if the dungeons were fine after uninstalling just this mod? This mod only modifies rooms/portals in Riften jail, does nothing else.
spore 23 Jul, 2012 @ 8:18am
after installing the mod I have major issues in other dungeons. Before I installed it other dungeons were fine, after installing I had the jail bug in those levels.
Fox GoldEye (HELLFOX) 8 Jun, 2012 @ 9:05am

Agriphal Albion 7 Jun, 2012 @ 7:04pm
I liked your mod so much I added it to my permanent collection; https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=72755638 ...to help spread the word of your good work.
Coolioice 30 May, 2012 @ 4:02pm
wow i thought that disappearing wall was just my game acting up, i had no idea it affected everybody. definately subbing
Zaflis  [author] 21 Apr, 2012 @ 4:30am
Went in Riften Jail on my newest character, made after this mod, and this mod is still fixing the bug at least for me. Maybe the room/portal system might internally work differently on each graphics card. All i can suggest is try turning this mod off, to see if it makes normal jail show again. If you have any mod at all that alters the jail (moving the whole thing, or remaking walls), then this might not work.
KyreanNightblood 14 Apr, 2012 @ 8:38pm
I don't know if this is your mod, or another one... but the ENTIRE Riften jail is dissapeared, until I move into the small area.
Steve 6 Apr, 2012 @ 12:52pm
Thank you, thank you, thank you. See also: Thank you.

I love modders who improve oversights and not add dumb shit to already great games. Nice mod.
Graja 26 Feb, 2012 @ 6:09am

PatMoxx 25 Feb, 2012 @ 10:44pm

The chain for the door to get me in the chamber of becoming a Nightingale wont open at all....
fox 20 Feb, 2012 @ 8:21pm
Thanks for the fix!
Popcorn 18 Feb, 2012 @ 5:34pm
@Hottspitta jR (was obviously a joke man) - besides it seemed rather obvious graphical glitch that anyone doing that mission would notice, not game rendering, too be honest I kind of like it, I suppose (and @RaLakedaimon too) it IS a big game so there were probably 1001 other minor things we didn't see because Bethesda thought they were/have been more important to fix first.
Popcorn 18 Feb, 2012 @ 5:30pm
"portals" - so that means like in Portal but instead of a small mansized hole you have a large corridor hole that links seamlessly with the other bit of the room tetrised away neatley somewhere else?
The Mad Hatter 17 Feb, 2012 @ 8:16am
uh does anyone know why it causes my game to crash as i try to enter the jail?
Skyhigh 16 Feb, 2012 @ 7:38pm
Pathetic Bethesda can't even fix there own damn game, well done on this mod, works as advertised without any issues.

Fine job mate!
Zaflis  [author] 15 Feb, 2012 @ 4:15am
By the looks of comments, the fix seems to be working for majority :) After reading the tutorials it came clear that this bug had to do with "rooms and portals".
GivMeDew 15 Feb, 2012 @ 2:15am
seriously people are talking about this!!!! When I saw riften jail bug fix I though THANK GOD THEY FIXED THE HUGE ASS BUG THAT MADE IT SO I COULDNT EVEN GO INTO THE TOWN!!! Guess not
j.sykesy 15 Feb, 2012 @ 1:22am
@Hottspitta jR Well said that man!
Hottspitta jR 14 Feb, 2012 @ 11:27pm
@Popcorn Your not the one creating anything. Just the sit at home man. So chill out. lol
Bethseda works on a much larger scale game, it is much more challenging to find every graphical problem on a map that big.
Popcorn 14 Feb, 2012 @ 11:02pm
Is this going to lead Bethesda to be lazy in the future? - "What about the backwards flying dragons?" "Whatever leave it to the fans, someone'll do it for us."
Fenix Daemon 14 Feb, 2012 @ 10:13pm
thanks

HansZarkov 14 Feb, 2012 @ 6:21pm
I noticed this as well when i played last. I hope the dev's pay attention to these mods and put this into a future patch for the game.
JohnJack 14 Feb, 2012 @ 4:53pm
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! This was bugging the hell out of me!
ap0ught 14 Feb, 2012 @ 10:33am
things like this should be fixed in a user patch that fixes multiple issues.
redmountain0115 13 Feb, 2012 @ 6:10pm
Thank you so much man!
v00d00m4n 12 Feb, 2012 @ 2:44pm
Its not the only place where such a bug appears, home of greybeards have same issues too, cant say exactly which place, but somewhere at right side of buildin if you just came in from skyrim via main entrance. Can you please invesitgate and fix that too?
R41N 12 Feb, 2012 @ 2:29pm

lol, I remember this bug. Nice work.
Vivec 11 Feb, 2012 @ 8:04pm
Bethesda should've fixed this in their patch so we don't have to use a mod, such a simple bug.
QualaGibin 11 Feb, 2012 @ 5:08am
this was the biggest brain damaging view of skyrim and fixed thanks xD
Grimmsqueaker 11 Feb, 2012 @ 2:21am
Thanks for this, discovered it last night and remember seeing this mod, good work :)
-=GHS=-Kewlpersin 10 Feb, 2012 @ 7:27pm
I encounted this like the first night I played the game. Terrible thing to see when you start out a game.
dagonn3 10 Feb, 2012 @ 9:20am
thank you sir. always impressed when bethesda doesn't touch something like this, even tho the game's been out 3 months. thankfully we have zafis w/ his .001 mb file that fixes this horrible immersion breaker.
