This error is usually caused by modding. The syntax of some game resources is not correct.

It would help if you told the author what the error is, there should've been [onscreen] a message that gave you the relevant details with regards to your error message.
If you post that with your comment that would be helpful to those concerned.
Strange, nothing in this map changes the way industries work. This must be a change in the recent game update.
I've recently started a new game on another map and the farms are producing livestock no problems without any grain delivery. As far as I'm aware farms don't require any input to produce livestock, just make sure you have enough demand at the cities you eventually deliver the food to. I didn't realise milk was a thing, is that now in the base game or from a mod?
[quote] Why is the oil of Aberdeen UNDERWATER????
How can i ever get that oil?
It's not in range for an truck stop :/ (1850) [/quote]
Because you have to use a tanker to get it. It basically works the same way as a truck stop [you add a route from a harbour to the rig in question] You'll also need to add a shipyard to get the tanker required for the route.
It's also how it works in the scenario too, take a look at the American campaign The Great Depression, if I recall correctly you'll see it there.

Have a text editor. Opened settings. Changed experimental map from false to true.
Opened game still get height map too big pixels can't exceed 16m.
Unsubscribe, subscribed twice changed setting to true. Still the same.
That is the problem,& im getting fed up with it.
So...Lenovo y700 intel i7 thingy in it,lots of good bits in laptop I was told.
The bit with removing towns or industries is that necessary ? As if so I quit.
My son is 10 & im the wrong side of 40. I have little knowledge in gaming, though could do brilliant poke codes in machine code for jet set willy in the early 80's.
Cheers for any other suggestions or I'll tell my boy it's his 1st world problem & to start playing Minecraft again.
1. Find the "settings.lua" file and ensure it contains "experimentalMapSizes = true" and save and close the file.
2. Find the "map.lua" file for my map and carefully remove the towns or industries you don't want and save and close the file.
Once again the details are in the description above. If you can't find these files, try downloading the "everything" search program and simply search for the folder and/or file names, as described in the description.
If you're struggling with this, why not get your son to read the information here and try doing it? It's amazing what kids can learn if you give them a chance.
By the way I also have a real life, a job and mortgage to pay off. That's why I don't have the time to answer every question and repeat what I've aready explained.
What exactly are you trying to do? Please explain, if you have the time, as I've no idea what you mean by setting the map size to true.
Not sure about it but if you're on about using the map editor to resize the map for editing then refer to my comments for GJST1976 with regards to how to use it, as this might be what you need?
Sadly ash,as I said, this isn't for me I'm trying to sort this for my son. I have areal life and putting effort into playing computer games isn't high on the agenda,I have to work to pay off a mortgage.
Cheers mr w hunter,you're a gent.
Programme Files> Steam> Steamapps> Workshop> content> 446800> 906803457> maps> uk_penzance_to_thurso
Oen that and lo and behold you'll find the heightmap and a text file listed as map
If you simply can't find the map.lua file in the "uk_penzance_to_thurso" folder, try downloading the "Everything" from www.voidtools.com . I use it and highly recommend it.
Need a step by step guide please..i.e. From the windows home screen onwards.... cheers chap
Also turn off any background progs that are running as well, assuming that they're impacting the game, and are not needed at the time. Memory is important, the more you have free the better this game should run, as well as having a decent graphics card and CPU too. This game can "chug" in the later stages, when the map starts to "fill up". ;-)
Open the map.lua file (use the gear cog) on the toolbar at top of screen, you should see a list. Find and delete the town(s) you don't want, from the list in the text file that opened.
I'd leave the industries if I were you as you're sure to need them in game more so than the towns you want to delete.
Use the co-ords BEFORE the name of the town(s) you want to delete.
This the location for London and to delete it remove the following (remove the brackets as well)
{pos = { 4168.517232, -11000.48 }, name = _("London"), sizeFactor = 1.5}
After you've deleted the town(s), save the lua file and the map will reload and you should see that what you've deleted will no longer be there.
I deleted London as a test and used the co-ords BEFORE the town name
{pos = { 4168.517232, -11000.48 }, name = _("London"), sizeFactor = 1.5},
I did this and saved the file and the map reloaded.
London was deleted!
Therefore it should follow that you can delete any number of towns to reduce the amount, as no doubt the further you go into the game the more info there will be and it will, no doubt be chugging after the 1950's(?) if you start at the turn of the century (dependent on your PC).
Hope this helps you out.
I deleted my previous comments, to remove any possible chance of confusion...
Download the map viewer and run it.
https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/2404-TF-Map-Viewer/
Unzip and run the prog.
After running the prog, open the map folder (penzance to thurso) and run it full screen (fit the map to the window (two diaganonal arrows in the toolbar at the top of the map viewer screen, to enable you to see all the locations on the map), then open the map.lua file (gear cog) on toolbar at top of screen, and find and delete the town(s) required from the file, it'll open as a text file, use the search box to help find the town(s) you want to remove and then delete them.
It's in the above information [Customisation Tips]
To remove towns/industries (or add more) from the map[/b] , find the folder: "uk_penzance_to_thurso" This will be somewhere under "SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content" and open the "map.lua" file in a text editor.
Then carefully remove lines under the towns and/or industries section. Save the file and start a new free game using this map.
Can you please tell me on here how you remove the towns from this map, because i would like to take some towns out of the map and i just wanted to know how to do it, can you send me a PM please mate. :)
Is it possible for that to be done here, I doubt it, as that would then mean that this map would need to be a "scenario" and coded as such, rather than being just a map.
Map looks like could be god fun to play, but may need to looking toto moving that oil industry to being on land :)
