Also make sure you are trying the right version for xcom2. This is for the base game and not the chosen dlc. Also look in the discussions under the mod description.

Ok performance is based on your rig...IMO RAM is a big factor with this. But there is a config to adjust how often animations play if you have a low to midrange rig. Now I have 32GB RAM and run the mod at max....
When i played xcom i dreamed with the day this "war scenario" would be real and now it is but... :(
That being said , I use it in LW2 and The WotC version
