I'm not sure if this is within the scope of your interests, but do you think you could have a go at making the RAF Cardington airship hangars?

Too bad a single tragedy killed the whole sector. Modern blimps could work fairly well if economically sustainable.
Aquilifer Argentus 29 mai 2017 la 22:58
Cool, cool building! All that's missing for the Zeppelin Collection is one of the large, wheeled mooring masts!

You know, these airships were moored to a mast when on the ground. Look at photos of Hindenburg when it blew up in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The ground crew was trying to attach it to the mooring mast. In fact, the spire on the Empire State Building was originally supposed to be an airship mooring mast, but the Hindenburg tragedy killed the whole mode of transportation.
gravage 29 mai 2017 la 17:46
Whoa ... THAT is way cool!

Wow!

@Arnesto: Good to know you are working with BP! Looking forward to whatever you come up with.

Yes, the german "dirigibles" sure were beautiful. Old Graf von Zeppelin did his original expirements at Lake Constance (BodenSee) in Bavaria. As a kid I was fascinated by the wonderful old photos of his airships sailing over the lake, with the Alps in the background.

Yes, all your great Lugo workdoes hint that you are a Galego! :) But you never know, people get fascinated by things that are on the other side of the world. I'm glad you have such beautiful architecture in your "back yard". How about a model of O Faro de Fisterra? Both legendary and beautiful! All you'd need are some cim-peregrinos throwing their shoes in the ocean...
Zappierchimp 27 mai 2017 la 18:03
I'd love to see the day the Zepplin made a comeback, even if in the same capacity as a cruiseliner.
jk72 27 mai 2017 la 5:10
@Mechalic also known as Dirigible's. just hearing that word makes me think of majestic airliners, also I happen to be using this game as inspiration for short stories set in the future where massive airships transport people around :D
Armesto  [autor] 26 mai 2017 la 14:13
@tomb BloodyPenguin talk to me about mooring towers yesterday, and we find some things that could help. By now, I'm about to release the ground stop. About the outside links, that's something to ask about too!

About the second, nobody broke the "no politics" rule (except the people saying only "any political stuff", -.-"), but yes, this is based on a german airship, but other nations invest on his own. I think german ones were the most beautiful in shape :)

And yes, I'm from Galicia, all my Lugo stuff should give hints :D
tomb 26 mai 2017 la 14:04
@Arnesto: Thanks for your reply. Have you tried asking some of the mod authors - badpeanut, bloodypenguin - about blimp landing functionality? A collaboration to make a Zeppelin transportation system (outside links!) would be fantastic and have a LOT of fans.

Fr anyone who thinks this is too "germanic", rember that the USA and Great BRitain were both trying to set up Airhip lines in the 20's to compete with Germany. That being said (written), my grandmother often told me about the Graf Zeppelin flying over her city in Brazil when she was a teenager :)

Where are you from? Galicia?
O1Li3_D3AN0 25 mai 2017 la 12:29
this looks so nice! It will fit the gothic/dystopian 30s city i'm building. Great job!!
Armesto  [autor] 25 mai 2017 la 8:49
Totally agree with you, @tomb. But this has some problems, in terms of making it work. But trust me, I want to try it!
vukica 25 mai 2017 la 7:22
great stuff, definitely deserves a big ass mast.
tomb 25 mai 2017 la 6:33
Magnificent! Request: a Zeppelin mooring tower, please? Replace the blimp "stations"...

You can find plenty of example if you search of "Zepplin Mooring Tower", but here is an example:

Any Political Stuff.

Try me.:germanhelmet:

Seriously though, when I first heard that they were going to do Blimps or Airships in the new DLC, the first thing that popped into my mind were our classic airships and I didn't think a mod like this would be out this quickly. I love it.
Mechalic 25 mai 2017 la 2:11
OMG YES! Love it! And to anyone reading this, a Zeppelin is not a blimp, a zeppelin is a rigid airship capable of carrying passengers, cargo, along with accomodations on board. Over a thousand trips carried passengers by Zeppelin airships as far as from Berlin to Rio De Janeiro! without a single disarster, the Hindenburg was the ONLY one for the Zeppelin company.

@Armesto i'm so glad i bought the DLC now :) thanks for making this
Krittercon 24 mai 2017 la 12:23
@Armesto Don't see anything wrong with just a field and a docking mast with one of those roll up stairs car/truck thingy. Just as long as the zeppelin doesn't look like it's blocking traffic on the road as it does now XD
Armesto  [autor] 24 mai 2017 la 10:42
@Krittercon Yes, that was in my plans too, I totally agree! I must think on something, this kind of airships used to land on fields or airports.
Krittercon 24 mai 2017 la 10:39
Any chance of making a large blimp stop to match? The zeppelin landing on the small vanilla stop doesn't really fit.

Beautiful work by the way :D
Armesto  [autor] 24 mai 2017 la 9:27
@Giometry E Thanks! LZ 130 was similar to Hindenburg (LZ 129), so the shape is almost the same. I wanted to do a mix between all of them. Also, this is full of non flammable helium! ;)
HatsuneKid 24 mai 2017 la 9:21
So good!!
Eva 24 mai 2017 la 9:20
awesome work. however its called graf zeppelin while it looks more like the hindenburg, not that i really mind, still looks really cool.
