Not sure if you ever plan to come back to this game or to this mod but if you ever do would love to see the turrets color changed. I know its possible now since others have done it and I may just try to look into it myself at some point to tweak it for personal use. But thanks for this mod, love the way you handled the colors on the ships.

We've both made a mistake CyRob, the pathfinder 02 ID1 & ID2 textures have been incorrectly named & should have their ID's switched but instead of fixing it the devs have put the ID's under the opposite MaterialData Name ID.
You can see this in the exported remapping xml.

@Mafiaboss I think they mean it's in the game lore-wise, maybe adding models is now possible but I've not been told anything about that

This special golden ship is already in the game. I asked one of the devs. So it should be possible to modify it.

Here a comment from the patch notes:

"Frogsquadron [Entwickler] 4. Okt. um 16:08 Uhr
Well, this ship is part of a quest (My Superyacht Is Bigger Than Yours), so in a sense, it's in the game already. As a model, however, there are no plans to add models of luxury, non-combatant ships. But as I mentioned earlier, modding them in is always possible..."

@Mafiaboss Its possible to add new ships using existing models (but you can change the stats & maybe the textures) but currently there is no way to add new models

The ship & weapons are now fully metallic gold.
I just need to change the other hero ships & find out how to upload the mod.

I just bought ES2 DD edition & am in agreement that the heroes ships look a bit like plastic toys compard to most of the race ships, so after having a look at this mod i've made some edits myself.
I have some experience at texture editing for mods so i've come up with this.
I increased the gloss map to cover all the ship & the weapons & coloured the textures proper gold.

@Zephyr It this mod's folder there is the textures it replaces vanillas with (which are blue) in a sub folder there are the dark textures, replace the blue textures with the dark ones to have dark hero ships.
You can find the textures (& the dark sub-folder) at:

%Steam Install% being the steam install folder or Steam libary folder (if the game is on a diffrent drive)

What do you mean replace the blue textures with the dark ones, where do you find the dark ones?

@LupusVir Both the communitiy and the devs have expressed interest in having the feature at possibly some point down the line.

@CyRob, when you say "wanted feature", do you mean that the devs want to implement it at some point, or that the communitiy wants them to?

@drew_west Unfortunately not, it is a wanted featured but the devs are not supporting it at this moment

is there anyway to make the hero ship change colour depending on what colour the chosen empire has?

I just started playing this game this last week and I love it. This is the first mod I've looked at; I like what you're starting to do here. It would be cool to start seeing variations on ship skins. Thank you for sharing this and the Dark Reskin, I'll have to take a look at both ... Black would be cool at first thought but I wonder if I could see them against the dark of "Space" ( :

And replace the blue textures with the dark ones.
