Second, regarding the textures: All of my work, including the PtTR animations (and pictures) as well as my indie-game project ORCOY is almost completely made up of textures I either have drawn myself or took from photos I shot. The textures from the characters from Paint the Town Red are from the game's files of course, not by me.

Posing (just for pictures) of the characters took me ~20 minutes. But an animation, just like the stay in shadow animation gif can take up to 2-5 hours. It depends on how skilled you are.

I originally started getting into blender back in 2010. I had a great mentor who showed me all the basics regarding modeling, animation and texturing via online courses, but he speaks german so I don't know how helpful he'll be for you.
I'd recommend you to join any online course or watch complete beginner's guide tutorial videos on youtube as they're the best way to get started. But keep in mind that this kind of software takes several months to fully understand and learn to work with, so don't give up too quickly.

I'm beginning to learn blender, but it's definately a challenge. I have a few questions if you don't mind regarding these animations, they're very well made. First, as a beginner in Blender and someone who want's to make animations like these, where should I start? Somewhere like Youtube? And second, did you have to pay for the textures or did you download them for free? And last but not least, how long did it take you to make an animation? Thank you and I'm sorry if they were stupid, but I'm still learning and not well versed in animation/blender.
