= = =
Are you using Synergies? Correct me but I don't think Synergy Add On Mods work without it.
= = =

= = =
Some mods _will_ "bind" to your saves so copy paste back up your character SVB files to other folders- to keep progress when you decide to change mods.

I would recommend:
= = =

= = =
Better Vanilla Game Simple:
= = =
it has Landmarks- Abysm- (with Improved Vitality and Chunky and Improved Skill Refund) and both Aegis maps,
decent amount of Pets,
is possibly the best fishing extension pack currently,
is the _only_ reliable Interface enhancer that can be used with _any_ Interface mod pack of your choice without bugs,
has a slightly zoomed out camera and mob detection (very good for dungeons).
= = =

= = =
Dracos Merged Pack w/ lvl 100 Cap & Vanilla Stat+Skill Gains
= = =
There are 3 variations and this one is the most balanced and it works in multiplayer.

It may be one of the best packs to use to spice your game up until "BVG Spicy" fixes it's multiplayer issue.
= = =

= = =
together or choose as you please: Epic Mod, Boss Brutality, Eclipse Elite, Mob Swarm.
= = =
choose only one of these: Harsher Death Penalties, Death's Grim Gate, Medium Core.
= = =
One day I look forward to making a mod pack including these difficulty boosting mods.
= = =

= = =
Now the following mods below do "not" work in multiplyer but if single player is your thing then these options become interesting.
= = =

= = =
Better Vanilla Game Spicy:
(instead of Simple because one is less and the other is more).
= = =
I am _so very much_ trying to get "Danielmratliff21" to get rid of the 500 level mod inside

but otherwise this is one of the best balanced mod packs available that adds new weapons and better drop rates on all chests

and it also contains the interesting Daylight Robbery Mod.
= = =

= = =
Torchfun Ultimate:
(or just Part 1 or 2)
= = =
Part 2: Adds many small yet big changes to the game and two new ember types.

Part 1: Allows level cap to go up to:
New Game: Level 1-100
NG+1: 101-150
NG+2: 150-200
and so on to NG+5: 300 or 350 I'm not sure because even the modded class Theolentist could only handle level 250 foes when I played this.

I must say if you really want a challenge outside Synergies (and if you really want to actually depend on and need the firepower of any LAO 2.0 Mod) then "Torchfun Part 1" is a must if only playing single player and this mod does not bind so you can switch this mod out and all your characters will be safe.
= = =

= = =
Adventure Pack 2:
(You can also get the AP2 camera extender mod but avoid the AP2 matching level extender mod since that would mean foes can't level higher than you and that's what Torchfun Part 1 is for anyway).
= = =
This adds 2 Portals leading to 2 new Acts and Towns in the Mapworks and a slew of new dungeons with some interesting scenarios.
= = =

Hey thanks for this great answer.
Yes I run Synergies MOD but I forgot to write it in original post.
Also, I am Single Player.

What am I mostly interested from mods are - more acts, dungeons, bosses, items, maybe classes, skill refund (respec).

What is not really important - any graphic, UI changes.

So thanks for you answer, can you please tell me load order of those mods you said in post above ?
steffire3 9 19 Dec, 2016 @ 10:36pm
It seems you are the kind of player who _may_ want classes but maybe not too many and perhaps desires something that is functional without bugs or crashes and also an Interface that makes the UI better but has no conflicts so I will lastly add these last few suggestions:

= = =
Diablo III UI:
= = =
Click the little red squares next to the health mana orbs to toggle the bars over the character. the added pet slots don't function but everything else does.
= = =

= = =
Extra Synergies Classes:
(Monk will not work with other mod Monks).
= = =
Adds 3 new unique classes and there is also a Non Synergies Version.
= = =

= = =
Darkthan's Classes: (which you already have).
(adds 6 or 7? total mod classes when "Darkthan" finished).
= = =
Probably the best class pack on Steam Workshop with the least bugs and offers fighting styles that are different and are designed with each other in mind which may not seem like much however it means that if you want a class that doesn't copy the other then they are all unique and this makes them the best class team to add to the original game over many other mod options.

It also has an active mod author who will listen and reply to your needs or bug fixes if you have anything that needs attention.

It's also close to being finished and many classes are ready and playable.

= = =
Path of Torchlight: (which you already have).
(Same mod author as Darkthan's Classes).
= = =
Adds buyable map dungeons to the map vendor from the Mapworks into the Estherian Enclave making it accessible from the beginning.
= = =

= = =
However if you don't mind walking a minefield of bugs and some potential crashing here and there then there is one last mod duo to recommend below.
= = =

= = =
Additional Classes: Install Add On.
= = =
Add On to Additional Classes: (Fixes some bugs but not all from it's sibling).
= = =
Together adds over 30 classes and is the largest class pack in the entire workshop... it may have problems if loaded with Darkthan's Classes however it does include both Far East Class Gear Packs.

LOAD ORDER: This depends on what you choose so I'll try my best to advise several plans.

Tips: Try to place big mod overhauls at the bottom and big mod packs among the bottom 6 mods loaded unless there is a mod or feature inside you want to use then place it over the other mod that changes that specific feature.

Example: so if mod pack One has a camera zoom x2 but then mod pack Two has a camera zoom x4 then load the one you want over the other and if you want better money, drop or experience gains then place those near or at the top.

Priority: If you want new dungeon mods to appear then place them over other dungeon mods which means Synergies goes under most of them.

LOL this reads like a menu of fast food... XD

= = =
Balanced Darkthan Order:
(Probably the most stable load).
= = =
1. Torchfun Part 1 (difficult game so be prepared).
2. Any Syn Add On (allows changes to function).
3. Any Syn Add On
4. Diablo III UI (Any UI mod would be placed here).
5. Path of Torchlight (over BVG Simple for dungeons).
6. Better Vanilla Game Simple (above class mods).
7. Extra Synergies Classes ( Syn Monk over Dark Monk).
8. Darkthan's Classes
9. Synergies
10. Any LAO 2.0 Mod (place LAO over Synergies if you want LAO damage numbers).
= = =

= = =
Spicy Adventure with Additional Bugs:
(Would you like some restarts with that class?)
= = =
1. Any Syn Add On (over Torchfun Ultimate)
2. Any Syn Add On (or AP2 Camera mod here)
3. Any UI pack
4. Torchfun Ultimate (many changes so is below top)
5. BVG Spicy
6. Add On Additional Classes (above additional).
7. Additional Classes
8. Any LAO 2.0 mod (damage priority over Syn).
9. Adventure Pack 2 (above Syn, below all else).
10. Synergies
= = =

= = =
Synless Draconian Difficulty:
(Synergies took a vacation).
= = =
1. 2x Exp Fame Gold Skills Stats
2. Running Wild (only blues and higher drop).
3. Zoomy Light (camera extender).
4. Any UI pack (or AP2 camera extender).
5. Torchfun Ultimate (or Part 1)
6. Draco's Merged Pack lvl Cap Vanilla
7. Any Class Pack (even Add On Classes alone is good).
8. Any LAO 2.0 mod
9. Attack Gorilla's Dungeon Challenge (crashy but very good).
10. Adventure Pack 2
= = =

= = =
You can move mods in and out of any of these load orders as you wish since after all; it's just a bunch of modded examples...
= = =

Hey thanks for another good answer, I really like "Balanced Darkthan Order" from post above, it has more content than my current setup and I think I can enjoy in game more.
Two more questions in the end if it is not problem:

1.) Where would you add Extra Chunky mod that adds more maps - so I can have all map mods :D
EDIT: On your list is already 10 mods but I would only add one Syn addon so I can fit in Extra Chunky

2.) Is it possible to remove Zoomy Light mod from BVGS ?

Anyway thank you for great list, I am sure I will enjoy it.
Last edited by AAAnte; 20 Dec, 2016 @ 1:10pm
steffire3 9 21 Dec, 2016 @ 2:32am
1. This next Load Order contains Adventure Pack 2 which has both Chunky and Landmarks inside of it.

2. Zoomy Light "could" be removed but you would have to set the camera back to normal using "Guts"... I'm actually the reason both BVG Simple and Spicy have Zoomy Light but now I realize I'll have to make a another version without it but that won't be for some time next year.

Alternatively you could avoid both BVGS's and use-

Draco's Merged Pack lvl Cap Vanilla.

Since it has no Zoomy Light.

= = =
Extended Darkthan Revised:
(This will get you the maximum amount out of Torchlight mod content with Darkthan and Synergies that is as bug reduced as possible).
= = =
Single Player Only.
= = =
1. Torchfun Part 1 (Difficult game be prepared).
2. Any Syn Add On
3. Any UI mod pack (Diablo III UI is a decent choice).
4. Path of Torchlight
5. Draco's Merged Pack lvl Cap Vanilla (or BVGS which has Chunky and Landmarks).
6. Extra Synergies Classes (lose Dark Monk, gain Syn Monk).
7. Darkthan's Classes (above Extra Syn Class if need Dark Monk).
8. Adventure Pack 2 (This also has Chunky and Landmarks).
9. Any LAO 2.0 (below Syn for Syn damage).
10. Synergies (below Lao for Lao damage).
= = =
So BVGS or without that you can also use Adventure Pack 2 to give you-
Extra Chunky
and Blank's Landmarks
from the above load order with it's (alternate choices and explanations).

I hope this helps !

YES! That mod list seems perfect.
I whish there is some forum post about all this you wrote so people can have for future reference.

Thanks again :D

EDIT: Forgot to ask - Is torchfun overhaul better than torchfun 1 ?
Last edited by AAAnte; 21 Dec, 2016 @ 1:17pm
steffire3 9 22 Dec, 2016 @ 8:59am
Torchfun Overhaul (or Ultimate?) is both "Part 1 and 2" Together...

I simply used "Part 1" because it only contains the level changes of New Game and Plus-

-from 1-50 to 1-100 and 51-80 to 101-150 and so on to 300? on NG+5.

If you want all the extra changes that it has to offer (more ember types, mob tweaks, added craft recipes, and other things) then using the "Overhaul (Ultimate?)" will allow everything to be used...

Of course all those new things from "Torchfun Part 2" may override some Synergies recipes but I have yet to confirm this...

= = = = = = =

In fact I've never played this load order exactly since many new mods have been made after I played with a similar order...

But I have 2 years experience with most of these mods to give the best info according to the limits of what I know so far. (This load order could have errors?)

If you could post feedback on the discussions here about your experiences (with this load order) then you would be doing everyone (and me) a big favor.

Thanks again !

-^_^-

= = = = = = =

And lol this IS the Forums!

XD

Unless you mean "Runic" forums and not "Steam".

However you are correct... I will post a "link" to this info inside discussions for both BVGS mods for anyone who may be interested in them!

It also may help if we wrote reviews on Torchlight 2 labeled "Our Modded Experiences"... Or even write this stuff on our own profile pages somewhere...

I actually have a picture under TL2 in my profile of a load order I was running some time ago so there's a good idea!

= = = = = = =

We can all do our part to help others... just as I have done for you... so it was done to me when I was new to Torchlight 2 mod options!

-^_^-

And when you have more questions about the mods you are running then ask me again and I'll try to answer to the best limits of what I know!

Hi,

yes I would like to help as much as I can but this is the first time I play game with mods so I am not sure that I will notice any error :D

When I said forum I had idea about some sticky post or even some kind of "Mod guide" which contains all information about running multiple mods, load order and stuff like that.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

EDIT: So I played a bit with current set-up and noticed some things:

1. Torchfun - The Overhaul
2. SynergiesALL Addons without LOWPOP
3. Path Of Torchlight
4. Dracos Merged Pack w/ lvl 100 cap & Vanilla
5. Darkthan's Classes
6. Adventure pack 2
7. LAO 2.0
8. SynergiesMOD

I dont care much about UI and I can add extra classes later so I didn't included those 2 mods.

With this set-up I noticed that monsters are tanky - take a lot of time to kill but don't really do much damage so it is nothing than pressing left click all the time which is boring.
Also I can use only 1 inventory page even there are 3 of them.
I get XP faster then before (Torchfun I guess) and loot font and colors are better which is good.

Ah yes... a Sticky post would help greatly,,, I wish I knew more about how to get one on the main discussions.

A "Mod Guide" would be a very effective way to educate everyone on the most reliable, fun, powerful and buggy choices along with how crashes work and how to avoid them. There are still many factors I need to know before I write one.

= = = = =

Tanky Mobs: probably some mod inside "Draco" affecting them.

Solution: get as much "Strength" as possible from enchants, gear and socketables whenever possible... Torchlight 2 can be boring early game but the new modded end game will be worth it.

Me? Well I played so many characters that I started to just Console them to level 100 so I could try new content with different builds quickly... sometimes I play the game normally but most mods don't change the main game too much... the end game is usually the difference.

= = = = =

Pressing Left Click all the time:

Question: What class and skill set are you using? lol that would bore me too. Lack of DPS and damage can also lead to some long battles.

= = = = =

Extra Inventory Pages not functional: well I had a feeling that would happen... sometimes mods that overhaul storage space like "Torchfun Part 2" will clash with another one like "Synergies"... the result is this common bug.

Solution: "Torchfun Part 1" will be a loss of some features from "Overhaul" but it could get those pages working again... if not then it's probably "Draco".

= = = = =

Question: Where are you in the story? Act 1? 2? And have you noticed the level caps on dungeons have gone higher? "Act 1" is level 1-20 and Torchfun makes it 1-40... it's a big difference.

If mobs are just tanky then that's a good sign for your character's defense... they will start hitting harder on New Game Plus and higher.

I switched to Torchfun 1 and now everything seems OK, I can use all 3 inventory pages.
Only thing I noticed is that some elixirs that give permanent HP and mana doesn't work but strenght, vitality and others work :D

I am playing with broken blackguard in Act I, trying to make Whirlwind build.

It is good idea to make char lvl 100, I want to try Frenzy build also.
steffire3 9 24 Dec, 2016 @ 9:43am
I'm so glad "Torchfun Part 1" has led to your inventory working again!

Darkthan has been updating his classes like the "Blackguard" with changes since I last played however I can say that any skill that can go above 100% DPS and deal some extra % damage will help greatly early and later game.

Act 1 won't be too hard but let me know how the Blackguard handles Act 2.

Hi LigacyofChaos!

I have been working on LAO 3.0 (might call it LAO III). This new version of my mod extends loot and dungeons to level 999 and adds 33 NG+ levels. This mod does NOT increase character levels past 100, if I did, it would break multiplayer. So that stays at 100. Sort of adds a new challenge/twist to gameplay.

Those level 100 characters are ready to get dusted off and see some action once again!

If you are interested in it, let me know and I can get you connected to it. It is very playable and mostly done. Just not quite ready for a public release yet.

If anyone else wants in on it, let me know.

Hi there,

I would be pretty much interested to try LAO III. Is there any gamebreaking bugs in it ?
Also can you write or PM me most important changes in it ?

I would like to test it and tell you how it works but I am not familiar with any other mods yet :D
RnF 43 24 Dec, 2016 @ 2:30pm
Haven't come across any game breaking bugs in it yet, have played it quite a bit, but not enough, so I can't promise there aren't any :) Friend me on Steam and I can make the mod visible to you.

I wouldn't play synergies with my mod yet, I haven't balanced LAO III at all with Synergies in mind. It won't break it per se, but it would be unpredictable at this point.

I would recommend downloading and playing the mod Unearthed Arcana, it is a mod that adds quite a bit of unfinished content for TL2. It isn't available on steam, but can be found here. I have balanced my mod to play with this one.
http://clockworkcore.org/uamirror.html
