Am validating the sdk files in steam now, to see if that helps.
-Removing Steam entirely (includes XCOM2/SDK)
-Reinstalling everything
I don't have access to the test environement and red screen messages anymore. I have an annoying solution, it's to use the regular game after building and using `log instead of `RedScreen a lot. This is stupid, fix this.
Also, the non-verbosity of the error message really helps a lot.
Avengerjfb, Jul 1, 1:02 PM EDT:
Since the DLC3 patch I am unable to run any compiled mod and playtest it. Steam refuses to launch the Debugger and provides this error. The XCOM 2 game works fine, and the XCOM 2 SDK compiles without problems or errors. The Startdebugger.BAT program also exits with error code 0. This is entirely from what it seems a Steam issue.
I've tried reinstalling everything from scratch, deleting all steam files, the issue persists. It also persists under other user accounts. I cannot find any detailed logs of this error, I would really like to have a more verbose error message than just this numbered error message. Thank you.

I also can't get the Xcom 2 Editor to run under the tools menu...it runs trough the splash screen loading files and always closes on a file called "foliage brush sphere material". Are you having this issue as well?
Please let the rest of us with the same issue know if you hear back from 2k :(
I had a lot of plans to make more items for the game but I'm not sure I can anymore.
Time for me to take a break from modding.
PS: In case you didn't verify the game cache already, doing so (several times) didn't solve the problem for me, and frankly I don't want to waste more of my time reinstalling the SDK, just to have it broken again by the next update.
I answered back that i reinstalled it twice, for a total of 54GB download and 6 to 8 hours.

Hello Avengerjfb,
I am sorry to hear that. One other thing that we can try is to would be to close Steam fully, go into your Steams install directory, back up the file ClientRegistry.blob to your desktop, and delete the one in the Steam folder. Reboot Steam, and try again.
If it still persists, we would recommend contacting Steam support for further assistance.

We are sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.
If you have any additional questions or concerns related to our 2K titles, do let us know and we'll be very happy to assist you further.
Kind regards,
Rogelio A.

Hi,
The XCOM 2 SDK refuses to launch the Test Mode game.
It returns a STEAM error.
Application failed to load : V:0000065432
Was working fine before the last DLC they released. 2K said to contact Steam support, please advise. At least 2 other modders are having the same issue, it's an application problem not a user problem.
steam://rungameid/299990
I cant change it to admin from there its not even a real executable.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\XCOM 2\Binaries\Win64\Launcher\ModLauncherWPF.exe
Set this to run in ADMIN mode with a right click, properties.
